With a long driveway near a park, we often get people walking down our driveway despite multiple signs. Love the 24 hr flashing lights and we chose the “beep beep” sound (similar to a truck back up warning) at loudest setting. Works great too, if we are in the yard for incoming deliveries alerts. If the sun is directly shining on the motion detector, it didn’t “see” motion, so we easily angled it on the ball style bracket, slightly down and a bit away from the direct sun and it worked great with similar coverage. I didn’t get the remote to work (which has a battery in it) but I wanted to set it and forget it, so no big deal. Since we can get coyotes at dawn or dusk, it may be an added bonus to keep them from crossing down our driveway from the park. The push buttons on the back “hold 3 seconds” between hearing command options and keeping an option and picking a volume was a bit trial and error, but arrived at where we wanted. It’s been up for 4 days in a sunny location (top of a fence post) facing the driveway entrance and just what we were looking for. It does have about a 2-3 second pause before sounding, so if we drive by 15 mph, it wouldn’t really be heard, but we got it for dogs & walkers wandering onto the property. ... show more

I got 2 different kinds of these alarms, and they stayed out on their posts during the coldest winter interior Alaska has ever recorded. The other kind did not work after winter. These work great to alert either myself or my dogs to moose raiding the garden. Would buy again.

Purchased this in January to deter deer and squirrels from the bird feaster. Worked well on deer but squirrels became accustomed to each sound option after just a short while. It’s hard to stop a hungry squirrel in the winter! Volume and sensitivity are certainly adequate - just ask our Amazon driver. But… “The Barker” as we affectionately called this thing, died in August. It would not stay charged (not even by plugging it in) and it began to leak an unknown dark liquid. Unless you’re using this garbage to detect a human from three feet away, it’s pointless. The remote, after I put a new battery in it, doesn’t work from five feet away. It MIGHT work if you’re two feet away or five feet away directly in front of it. The device itself is a neat idea, but rather pointless. High sensitivity makes it go off every time the neighbor blinks his left eye from a quarter mile away. Low sensitivity means you’d be lucky to pick up Bigfoot from three feet away. The product is a neat concept, and the price was reasonable, but even when it was new, the audio output was nowhere near the 120 decibels it is advertised as having. MAYBE it hit 85dB on the loudest sound (#8, the air-raid type siren) but most of the others are under 75 dB. Motion sensitivity is OK on cool or cold days, but on hot days (over 87F) it often won't trigger, even if you light a match a foot in front of it. Despite all that, I wasn't unhappy with the purchase until the sound quit. I opened it up today and checked all the connections and looked for 'fried' chips, resistors, capacitors etc. but they all look good. It is more waterproof and dustproof than it appears from the outside. I'll continue to use it because the blinking light will at least attract closer attention to the rather strict No Trespassing sign that it is mounted above. The USB port still works, and you can play all the various sounds from the device's memory chip over the computer speakers. {edit} The Seller did contact me promptly after this review was posted, with Ideas to try to get it to start functioning again (which I had already tried multiple times), and they did offer me a refund, which I'll not accept, but will laud them for good customer care. This thing is awesome!! Works as described and crystal clear LOUD speaker. Adjustable volume but crystal clear at all levels. I used my phone voice recorder to record a 20 second blurb and saved it to an MP3 file and then emailed it to my pc, then with the USB cord uploaded it to this device and it was so simple and easy to do. Now when UPS, FedEx or Amazon makes a delivery to my garage, it knows they are in front of the door and tells them to open the door and leave the package inside, because none of them can read the signs that tell them to do that. Instead they leave pkgs out in the rain, especially when I am away. I hope and believe that this thing will get them to put the pkgs. inside. It is so neat, functional, and easy to set up.     • Helped Deter My Dogs When It Actually Worked

I really wanted to like this alarm, but overall it’s been pretty ineffective for my setup. My main use for it was indoors to help keep my dogs out of a room they needed to stay out of. When it actually worked, it did deter them and got their attention, which was great. The biggest issue is the motion sensitivity — it’s either way too sensitive and constantly going off for no reason, or not sensitive enough and completely misses movement when it actually matters. I couldn’t seem to find a reliable middle ground. The custom voice feature and solar charging are nice ideas, and setup was easy enough, but the inconsistent detection makes it hard to fully rely on.
