I had purchased an Apple brand case for my wife's new Mini 6 and I had bought a non-Apple brand for my Mini 6. I use the Pencil2 with mine and my wife doesn't. Well the issue I had with the first case is the pencil would easily get knocked off if I wasn't very careful handling the iPad. I tried my wife's Apple brand and it wasn't any better. I ended up buying the Soke case which comes with an enclosed slot for the pencil. This case is great. It holds (and protects) the pencil firmly, yet it still Bluetooth connects and charges when in the slot. From my research, many other case brands have a similar slot but the Bluetooth and/or the charge function does not work when the pencil is in the case's slot. It also has a cut-out that allows easy removal of the pencil from the slot. All the functions of the Apple case are included with the Soke case (e.g., sleep, magnetic closure, magnetic easel function for propping iPad to a reading position). Highly recommend this case, especially if you have or plan to add the pencil2 to your iPad Mini 6.

For being a fraction of the price of the same type made by Apple, this thing is great. Fits the mini perfect and it still shuts it off when you close it can curl it up to use as a stand and snuggly holds the Apple Pencil. All cutouts are appropriate and the charge plug can fit in the port no problem. Perfect alternative to OEM.

I love everything about this case. The color, the feel, how protective it seems to be. Only thing I don’t like is that you can’t fit the Apple Pencil if it has a cover on, but that’s not really an issue for me. Touch ID/power button is accessible but a little crowded with the edges of the case, so it is kind of hard to use sometimes. For the price, I would 100% recommend.

This case works great as an affordable alternative to the Apple case. This case has a flap that hold the Pencil in place, while still allowing you to use the flap when the pencil isn't attached. The flap is strong enough that it does provide a little extra protection if dropped. Feels like a quality product.
