I searched for 'old lady perm' on the internet and this one came up. It did not have that strong 'perm' smell. There are more steps to follow with this kit. The gloves that are included are much improved and provided better protection. Will definitely purchase again.

Good experience. Usually these products lead to somewhat more hair shed, usually these types of products turn my grey hair edges to yellow, usually leaves me with multiple burns on scalp and ears. I’ve used these types of products of multiple brands for probably near 30 years now and I’m 39 currently. This was one of the most mild experiences I’ve had with such products. I think I usually use the Olive Oil brand. My hair prefers this dark and Lovely one now and the newer formulas have been an improvement all around. To start I didn’t even properly de-tangle my hair. It was natural and I had been lounging in a beanie so it wasn’t too fluffy. So I used a hair pick before applying the activator (after mixing it). I didn’t even comb it out super well. I just began to apply for 15mins total from the outter toward the scalp last, then followed all the next steps with the additional bottles. While it did take a bit longer with the 10 minute wait and the shampoo then the 5 minute wait, it turned out fine. And my head feels a minimal tenderness but I wouldn’t call any of the experience as painful. In my past history other treatments left me feeling some mild pain for about 8 hours or so.

Been using this since a teen and always loved it be you doesn’t have me ready to wash it out as soon as I’m done applying. I was happy to been able to buy it on here and it was only $5!!

Do not use this stuff on color treated or bleached hair. I tried it on a section and left it on for 5 minutes and rinsed and most of that section was falling out and it turned more curly than it had been before the relaxer. I tried another small section after this and only left it on for 2 minutes to see if that would make a difference. It made my hair look the same.it looks way worse and damaged than my hair ever did, even from 5 rounds of bleach one after another and constant dyeing and toning. I do realize that the packaging says not to do this but I just wanted to write a review to let others know of this possibility incase they want to try it anyway despite the warning on the label. That being said, I'm sure this is a great product that works well for many people as long as it's used right so I'm not going to rate it bad just because I was stupid enough to try it despite it saying not to.
