This straightener is great! No mixing needed. Does not need to be left in your hair long. The only downside is the odor, it's very strong for a few days. I found that rinsing with your regular conditioner helps with the smell. Other than that, it's great.

I have used nothing but Vitale since I was about 11 or 12. My beautician at the time used it, and so that's what I kept up with. There was some other relaxer I was using before that, but it gave me the kind of perm burn that left my eyes rolling. (Part of that was me scratching. The other part makes me believe that relaxer was suspiciously strong.) I was pissed that the beautician used the relaxer on my head knowing I had an open scratch like that, and I chose never to go with her again. But she is the person who introduced me to Vitale, so I have to give her credit where credit is due. Twenty-five years later, and this is still the only relaxer I'll use. I buy the moisturizers, actual olive oil, shampoos, conditioners, etc. Vitale is pretty much my go-to. This relaxer also worked well.     • Really Dried My Hair/Not For Swimmers
I used to use the Vitale LIfe and Body Relaxer with good results. It left my hair silky and soft. I decided to try this one. After relaxing my hair it was very dry and brittle feeling. It didn't straighten very much either. I had no breakage...just rough dry hair that looks dull and feels brittle. Now, I am a swimmer. I swim most days and I know the chlorine dries my hair, but I have used Motions Relaxer without that dry brittle feel right after relaxing. The Motions also straighten my hair and I used the mild formula. My hair breaks down fast....3a hair. The dryness comes after I swim and I'm able to condition it back to softness, but even after using a conditioner and a leave in my hair is still very dry. . It looks and feels like I have a different grade of hair. If you a a swimmer, I recommend you stay away from this relaxer. Something in the formulation of this relaxer makes chlorine dried hair drier. I even used a pre conditioner before relaxing it. My hair feels like wool....no exaggeration. ... show more

First time I ever used this and will be the last! First time globs of my hair ever came out! I have semi colored hair and I never had a problem using a relaxer in my hair before! But it’s always a first time for everything! I don’t recommend this product reviews may not be trustworthy!
