  • Very good product, and contains every feature you would like, but hard to set up
Style: New X1 Remote with Hub
The documentation is basic and shows what is needed, but you need to work with this for a week or more in order to set up every feature. I took off one star for not having a keypad - kinda necessary for DirecTV and the like. The ability to sync the APP to the Remote is buried and not easy to find. When you make a single change to a feature like Power on/off on one of your devices, it DOESN'T automatically sync that change. It took me several days of working with it to get those little changes done. Also, I would recommend that if you have an AVR like I do to place custom features like volume to the default buttons on the remote (or you will have to toggle to the device menu all the time). OVERALL, it is the ONLY device that can allow you to program older devices like a DVDR or VCR along with current devices. It also has 3 IR transmitters that can be placed in a Stereo cabinet and in front of a Large Screen TV - which I needed. I think it is overpriced since it has no keypad to allow channel entries - it does have individual numbers, but times out way to fast to put in 9999 for example. ... show more

  • Great Harmony Alternative
Style: New X1 Remote with Hub
I have been a Logitech Harmony customer for years. Last month my Harmony Elite finally broke down. I was looking for an exact replacement but I noticed the pricing has skyrockted since they remote is discontinued. I found the Sofabaton X1 during an online search and researched it. I was skeptical because I have never hear of this brand. I wnt ahead and purchased it and was pleasantly surprised. Thus remote us very similar to the Elite except that it dies not have a numeric pad and it does not connect to my thermostat. That is why I took off one star from my rating. Programing is easy if you are familiar with the Harmony programming. It took me about 1 hour to complete 7 activities. If you still have your Harmony you can use it as a template to program your X1. One piece of advise that I can offer is make sure that your device you are using to program your hub is logged into your 2.4 GHz band on your wireless router. In my case my router was automatically connecting my phone to the 5GHz band. I had to go in my router settings and separate the two bands and then log into the 2.4GHz band. Even with this inconvenience, I highly recommend this remote. As customers, we are limited to what what the marketplace has to offer on remotes that have an activities function. So far, this is the best thing I could find for the price. ... show more

  • Best extra buttons for fire TV stick
Style: SofaBaton F2 Remote
I've tried a few of these attachments. Despite making the remote really long, I still love it. The learning phase can be tricky but once it learns the button it works from any angle and the press and hold functions work accurately unlike others.

  • Not appropriate for an equipment closet
Style: New X1 Remote with Hub
What is the purpose of the hub-based remote when the handheld remote does not have an IR transmitter? My setup is very standard with the TV and speakers located in the living area and all the equipment in a media closet. AV receiver, media streaming device, Blu-Ray player etc. I was anticipating that this hub-based remote would work like the old Logitech Harmony systems where the hub and the IR blasters are based in the equipment room and the handheld remote can be used to turn on and off the TV via direct IR. This is not case. The handheld has no IR transmitter. Once you get into the app, it “informs you” that ALL equipment must within view of the hub or one of the IR blasters. There is no way for me to pass an IR blaster back out of the equipment room to the TV without construction. This may be a good universal remote if all your equipment can be “in view” of the hub and blasters, but it is useless in a true equipment room environment. ... show more

  • Must Learn To Read Compatibility Specs Before Purchasing
Style: SofaBaton F2 Remote
I screwed up and now have to use it with a Fire TV 4K voice remote which is not correct. It is not made for that remote but it still works, kinda. The SofaBaton F2 works with my new LG TV and an older Sony Stereo for what I want it to do. Had to reprogram several times. Note; It would NOT program with my devices ON. That is, I had to have the television and stereo off, and go to another room in the house while programming it. Hopefully this will help others. So back to using this on the wrong fire remote. While getting 11 additional buttons to program, I lost use of 4 buttons on the Fire 4K remote, Volume up & down, mute, and power buttons no longer function. I was however able to program other buttons on the universal remote to make up for them, it's just weird using a mute and letter B for volume control for my stereo. The A B and C buttons should be for switching device use, then you could use same buttons for multi devices. ... show more

  • A nice add on, but too fragile
Style: SofaBaton F2 Remote
Edit 6/10: The seller contacted me after my review and provided a replacement. I bumped up my star rating based on customer service, and will update this review after a while to comment on the durability of the replacement. Original review: The functionality of this remote is a nice add on to the fire stick remote, and it is easy to program. Where it falls short is durability. Where the section that holds the fire stick remote meets the universal remote/battery compartment is very weak. Accidentally put a little weight on it, which is bound to happen in a household with kids or pets, and it cracks. It is still functional, but now my remote is vaguely banana shaped, lol. ... show more
