  • Very happy with my purchase
Color: Black Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
Well, we got a new puppy! Yeah!! Then night rolled around and we put the puppy in his kennel and he cried all night long. No one slept a wink those first few nights. I know some people say to get an old style clock and the ticking sound will comfort the puppy. I never really liked that idea because I was worried that the puppy would break the clock and accidentally swallow a piece of it. I happened upon this Snuggle Puppy and thought it was worth a try and seemed less risky than a clock. Well, let me tell you... he loves his puppy! I guess it didn't help that he was from a littler of 13 but having a "puppy" with a heartbeat that he could rest his head on actually made him feel better. I'm very happy I decided to give this little guy a try. If you found this review helpful please click "yes" below so I know I'm not wasting my time writing these reviews. ... show more

  • A lifesaver for our new puppy—buy it now
Color: Biscuit Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
We ordered heartbeat puppy to take with us when we picked up our eight week old pup the first of February 2023. She had four brothers and we knew she’d be lonely when separated. As soon as our new pup was handed to me, heartbeat puppy became a part of her life. It is with her 24/7—still is, here almost months later. She carries it with her everywhere, and uses it as her pillow during crate time at night with no crying. We leave the heartbeat feature on all of the time, though you can turn it off. Two “aaa” batteries last two weeks without turning it off. The batteries are encased in a hard heart that has a screw to secure them. That heart goes into a strong Velcro enclosure that our pup has not tampered with, and she’s a chewer and explorer. The heart does not sound, but you can feel it vibrate when holding the toy. Our 12 year old granddaughter wants one for her birthday, and, if my grandmother and aunt who suffered dementia were still alive, I’d be buying one for them. And, yes, we’ve taken the heart out and washed this toy several times with absolutely no resulting wear and tear. You can see I’m a fan, and I am not affiliated with this company. Our puppy is now ten pounds/growing and still loving this marvelous invention. It has been the best $40 I’ve ever spent. ... show more

  • Really cool idea but not durable
Color: Golden Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
My 5 month old Samoyed puppy was able to open the very strong velcro that holds the pouch where the heartbeat gizmo goes and tore right through that pouch all the way to the internal stuffing. Thankfully he did this while we were in the living room during the day and not overnight in his crate, so I was able to get the heartbeat gizmo away from him. Every morning he would "liberate" Snuggle Puppy from his crate and carry him all over the house. He even tried to take him outside with us several times. He REALLY loved this thing. Once he was able to open the velcro there is no way I could leave him alone with it. It did help settle him down at night at first, so it's a real bummer that he was able to destroy it like this, especially considering how expensive it is. I don't know if there's anything the manufacturer could do to fix this issue. The velcro that keeps the pouch closed is REALLY strong - it was often hard for me to open it. I would not have thought he could have gotten it open by himself, but he did. Some puppies are just very determined and like to chew destructively. My suggestion is to supervise your puppy with it to see if they can get into that pouch before you leave them alone with it. ... show more

  • Didn’t do what I hoped
Color: Golden Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
It’s not a bad product, and it may work for other dogs just fine, but it just hasn’t worked for our dog the way I hoped it would. We very recently lost our older, senior dog. Our other, younger dog (who is also a senior), had always been around the older dog, ever since we got him as a puppy, and is struggling to cope with the loss of his constant canine companion. When our dogs were together, they had no problem being left alone for a few hours whenever my husband and I were out. They were always happy and excited to see us when we came back, but never acted like they were distressed or upset. However, now that our one dog is by himself, he’s not used to being left alone for any length of time. We try not to leave him alone for too long, but we can’t both be home 24/7 all the time. Even just being gone for a short period of time, half an hour to an hour, he’s always extremely anxious, fussy, and vocal upon our return, which he never had been before. We plan to eventually get another dog to keep him company, but we want to give him time to adjust to life without his best dog pal, as well as ourselves time to grieve the loss of our sweet pup, before we introduce a new dog. At the same time, we don’t want him to be overly upset any time we have to step out of the house. I heard the Snuggle Puppy could help sooth a dog’s anxiety while dealing with the loss of an animal companion, so I thought I would try it. First of all, the heartbeat noise is very loud. When I first turned it on, my dog got scared and ran and hid from Snuggle Puppy. I turned the heartbeat off and left the heat pack in, and he seemed fine with it then and liked snuggling with it. Once he warmed up to it, I turned the heartbeat back on to see how he would react, and he was still fine with it, and continued to snuggle up to it. The next time couple of times my hubby and I left the house, I put the Snuggle Puppy in our dog’s usual spot, but it didn’t seem to do anything in terms of soothing his anxiety as he was still just as anxious and fussy upon our return (I tried leaving it both with and without the heartbeat on, and it didn’t make any difference). Overall, he likes it well enough. As a matter of fact, right now he’s resting his head on Snuggle Puppy like an pillow and sleeping. The problem, though, aside from it not doing much to sooth his anxiety when we’re not home, is that he doesn’t care about the heartbeat being on and the heat pack being in it, which essentially just makes it a really expensive stuffed dog toy. Right now the heartbeat is off, the heat pack ran out of heat so I tossed it but haven’t replaced it, and he’s just as content as can be with it being a plain old stuffed toy that doesn’t do anything. Keep in mind, it might work just great for other dogs to sooth their anxiety, but you could also just wind up with just an expensive stuffed animal. At least he likes it! ... show more
