This is my 3rd Snow Joe snowblower- my last one ran many years. I love them. I purchased this machine to replace my last when the chute broke. This one does a great job of clearing the snow- better than the last one and I had already received comments on how surprised my neighbors were on how well the last one did for a non-gas operated blower. I'm in MN and this last storm brought over a foot of snow. I was plowing snow with this snow blower that was close to my knees and this machine was a champ. Cleared it right to the concrete. The reason for 4 and not 5 stars is the battery life and the fact that I can't shut off the headlight. I only plow in the daytime, so I don't need it and with how quickly the battery goes down, even if the headlight doesn't use much- I want ALL the juice to go to plowing, not running the light. It appears that as the battery gets low- it shuts down the machine pretty frequently, so you have to re-start it to have it go a short distance and shut down again. I had to clear my driveway in 3 sessions- waiting for the batteries to recharge. I just ordered an additional couple of batteries, so that will help. ... show more

Being single stage snow blower means you will have to push it in the snow. which means if the snow is wet and slippery you will have to use extra effort. (your feet are slipping as you are pushing) in a dry snow works great. Hight of snow depends on how light weight the snow is. Dry 6-8 inches ok wet snow with a crust 3-4 inches no problem. It works well if you don't expect it to perform like a "real" snow blower. We live in the north east and used in the couple big storms so far this year. Run time is about 25 minutes in dry snow about 18" deep. Same run time in wet snow, but I had to knock it down to less than 12" deep with the shovel first. Our driveway is about 20'x20' and I can clear it twice on a full charge. It throws the snow about 10' (further for dry, shorter for wet). The auger is metal with a rubber edge. Check all the bolts frequently. We had one come loose and I had to get creative repairing the auger. Use stainless steel hardware and locking nuts if you have to replace anything. Pretty much all other components are made of plastic. Everything has held up well except the plastic blade for scraping the ground broke off when I hit a spot that was packed pretty hard. The batteries are sturdy and charge decently fast with the included charger. They have a USB C PD port built in. It will push 20v at about 65w. Bought it on sale over the summer and am overall satisfied with the purchase. I would not pay full price for this. At ~ $600 I would buy a small gas powered snow blower. ... show more

Ordered 24V-X2-SB22 in September on sale. Came with batteries and charger. Stored unopened in box until today. Pulled the batteries and charger and plugged them in. My son and his friend put this together easily by looking at the box - without instructions! They grabbed the batteries and went to work. Handled 5 inches of medium wet snow. Cleared the driveway with no issues. They did not mess with the snow plowed mound. Update 12/01/22: Third decent snow of the year. Worked well for the first 2 snows., but batteries life is limited with heavy/wettish snow - runs out in about 35 minutes, which was not enough for the back yard patio and front driveway. When I was on the second run today, the machine would start intermittently and run only about 2-3 seconds before stopping if it started at all. Batteries are fully charged. Sometimes the headlights come on and sometimes not. I think it has an electrical problem. Pulling batteries and discharging capacitor did not help. Have it in the garage warming up to see if that could be the reason, but it is just 32deg F outside.... Will be calling for possible replacement after a little more trouble shooting. Update 12/22/22: Snow blower worked fine after warming up in the garage. However, now one of the batteries is now dead. It will not charge and shows no LED lights for charge level. The blower will not run on just one battery - cuts off in a few seconds. Other battery appears to be fully charged. Update 01/23/23: Changed rating from 4 to 5 due to great support. Although out of the Amazon return window, the blower was covered by Snow Joe's warranty. No single battery replacements were available, so Snow Joe said I could return the first snow blower for replacement. They sent a return shipping label. Be sure to save the original box just in case! I'll admit I was quite skeptical about purchasing a battery operated snow blower but my son talked me into it thinking it would be easier for me to handle. I've used a gas powered one for a number of years now but it died on me this year and had to decide on another one. We had about 6-8 inches of light powder snow here in Maine yesterday so I used the Snow Joe for the first time. It worked great in the light powder and on a smooth driveway surface. It did not like encountering anything other than the light snow. It didn't like hitting a rut in the driveway, ice bits, leaves, etc. I could not use on the brick pathway and didn't seem to like going onto the grass areas. It also did not handle what the town plow left at the end of the driveway and compared to some Maine snow storms it wasn't a large amount. It is true that it is light weight, easy to handle and blows the snow enough to get it out of the driveway. The battery life was good and handled well the time it took to do my driveway. I enjoyed that it was quiet and no gas required. I could actually bring it up the stairs and into the house as I have no garage to store it in. So it does have a lot of good features but I'm concerned it just will not handle a wet heavy snow. That remains to be seen. So for the time being I'm somewhat satisfied. Just can't say I'm totally thrilled with it. I guess my son will be plowing the end of the driveway for me because that seems to be the one real area of concern! Serves him right! Ha! ... show more
