This coffee carafe is great and my only regret is not getting one sooner! I’ve had a bad habit for years now of buying my coffee at work — I travel in on transit and was always worried about leaks or having a complicated assembly. But with the current economic downturn I finally bit the bullet and decided buying coffee was an expense I needed to cut from my budget, and set out to find a travel carafe that could do the job. This owala insulated carafe is GREAT! It is completely leakproof. It is not too complicated and disassembles for cleaning very easily. The spout is weirdly pleasant to drink from— no leakage while sipping! In just 3 weeks it has now paid for itself 3x over and I can make my own delicious coffee from home and not pay for overpriced bad coffee. Heat retention is great — it’s the perfect temperature for drinking by the time I get to work and stays that way for a few hours at least. #Protip: when it arrived I watched a video on disassembly because it’s not intuitive or like any other carafe I’ve had. You have to pop off the slider which at first feels like you’re breaking it. You’re not. Moving and prying off the slider felt hard/rigid at first but becomes much easier with a few uses.

The color combination on this Owala tumbler is perfectly harmonious. Every time I take a sip, the design lifts my mood. It keeps my drinks hot or cold for hours, and best of all, it never leaks. The material resists scratches and has a nice grip that doesn’t slip easily from your hand. It feels sturdy and well-made. At 20oz, the size is big enough for daily use without being bulky. It’s not the cheapest tumbler out there, but it feels like something I’ll enjoy using for a long time — definitely worth it.

I had been wanting a new travel coffee mug for work for some time. I have always used the same brand for many years and have liked it quite a bit. I had found that despite the old brand saying it was leak proof, I had an occasional leak of coffee in my bag when I would throw it in there. So, I decided to make a change and try the Owala Slider. My kids have Owala water bottles and like those quite a bit so I thought I would give this brand a try. Not to mention, they have darling designs! I like the design and colors available. I did not get a chance to really look at this item in a store prior to ordering online. The cup is quite a bit bigger than I anticipated it would be upon arrival. It fits well in my car cup holder but the cup feels quite large in my hands. It is also heavier than I anticipated it being. It also has a square/round shape. All these factors lead to me finding it more difficult to grip and hold than my old cup. Maybe I am just used to the weight/style of my old brand. This will take some getting used to. When it came in, I gave it a good washing and watched the video online on how to take apart the lid for deep cleaning. The problem is, I could not get my lid apart. I am sure this is user error on my end but I could not get the button on the top to snap off and when you have to keep trying you start feeling worried that you will break it. I gave it a try and washed it as well as I could. I will have to keep working on cleaning it. It kept my coffee warm enough for my commute to work. Having to slide the button to close it when I did not want to be drinking it was a bit of a pain so I would leave it open during the commute and I think this led to some temperature loss compared to my old brand of cup. I did test the cup by closing it and then holding it upside down. I did not see any leaking. The design of the cup provides for smooth sipping. Overall, this Owala works well for my commute needs, I think I need to get used to it. I don't know that it is at all superior to other brands of commuter coffee cups out there and for the price of this one, you may want to look around. I think this was a bit expensive compared to other cups out there - I know my old brand was not this much. You might find greater value in other brands - will they be this cute? Probably not, but they may work better for you depending on your situation.

My #1 Used cup daily - My favorite tumbler it is the perfect size for Hot & Cold items and us portable, and easy to clean. i LOVE the functionality of being able to take the cup apart to deep clean. The flip test is great because i throw this cup in my bag before work and no spills. I can also keep ice cold matcha in here and it will last me all day for my afternoon pick me up in the office. It's so good I bought a second one for my partner. Worth it!
