We ordered this helmet in a size medium for my 14-year-old daughter (based on measuring her head and using the size chart.) She just wore the helmet for our ski trip in Utah with snowy conditions and temps ranging from 22-32 degrees. It fit perfectly, was comfortable and warm. Looks stylish too!

I really like this helmet. It’s really comfortable. It fits my head well, with no areas of pain or discomfort. And my head stayed cool even snowboarding in 60 degree weather! The part that covers the ears is pretty thick, so it muffles sound a bit, but you can actually take out some of that stuffing. I haven’t tried this yet, but I love that I have the option to remove some of the stuffing in The ears and back of the neck too. I have a fairly small head and got the size small (I think it’s a unisex helmet, but I am a women) and it fits snug but not tight. It’s perfect! ... show more

    • Smith Holt vs. Giro Ledge
Size: Medium Color: Matte Black
I bought both Giro Ledge and Smith Holt, and I chose the Ledge over Holt for the following reasons: **My head measured at 60 cm but I’m a slim guy, and the Medium size from both models fit me very well, the Large size is significantly too large for me. ** 1. Size: Ledge is overall slimmer than Holt, especially on the sides: the Holt is rounded on the sides while Ledge is almost a straight cut. Ledge is also smaller in height, and feels a bit lighter on head. 2. Quality: though cheaper than the Holt, the Ledge actually has better quality in details. When I pulled the ear pieces down in order to put on the helmet, one of the ear pieces on Holt became loose and can be easily pulled out just after a few try. Also, for the press-on strap on the inside for size adjustment, Ledge’s gives a positive and solid snap while Holt’s is harder to push in and out, no clear snap either. 3. Thinner ear piece. Ledge’s ear pieces are much thinner than Holt’s, making it easier to hear things and may feels cooler in warmer days. They are both comfortable though, just personal preference. 4. Goggle strap clip: The one on Holt is a larger unit with very solid construction, tighter than Ledge’s, but Ledge’s can hold the strap just fine and it’s easier to bend to pull the strap in and out. However, I do think the Holt has a more stylish design. The Ledge looks kinda plain. Fitting wise, they both work out great, although the Ledge has a tighter fit in my opinion. ... show more

I was trying to find a good helmet I could use on my bike and snowboard, but I had the toughest time finding one that would fit. I ordered several helmets through Evo that really sucked despite being name-brand. The sizing charts are definitely off with many of those. I got really lucky finding this one on amazon that fit my head perfectly. The color is so vibrant so it's easy for people to spot me on the slopes or if I'm riding my bike on a street. This was listed as a Unisex helmet. It did not list a size. The price was such a value at the time of purchase (~$30), compared to other alternatives, that it seemed too good to be true. I decided to take the risk, and ordered it as a gift for someone. I would give it 5 stars for that value. Unfortunately, the product that arrived was labeled as a Women's Size Small (51-55cm), which is too small to fit the intended recipient. Also, it was manufactured in 2016. I would give it 2 stars for these reasons, but the price was such a value that I will be attempting to find someone else who it fits, to give it as a gift. Note: I am currently unable to do an accurate review of the product with regards to its performance, as it does not fit the intended recipient. ... show more

    • Secure fit but oddly designed head strap adjustment
The OD green color added a nice aesthetic touch to the helmet. Number of vents on the helmet were adequate. Strap is removable for wash. Only 4 stars due to the following: Least like about the helmet is the price even though it was on sale; Price for the brand name I reckon. Additionally, had to figure out how to adjust size but was able to do so by pulling the pointed tab on the occipital portion of the head strap and pushing the tab back into another hole on the foam inside the helmet. This particular helmet DOES NOT adjust using a wheel knob on the inner rear of the head strap. Secure fit nonetheless. Had bought another helmet for less price of which the look, feel, contour design and foam protection were the same except for the vent designs and the presence of a size adjusting rear occipital wheel knob: This brand name helmet appears manufactured from the same factory in China as my lesser priced 2 in 1 use helmet previously purchased. ... show more

I was a little unsure of how this helmet would fit me for my bike riding and unsure as to whether the ear covers would work for me but they do and I am so glad! Now I do not need to concern myself with whether or not I need to use ear muffs while riding: these ear covers cover my ears well to protect them from the cold and I can still hear my music while I am moving along as well! SIZE large seems to fit my head just fine and there is still room enough for me to wear my balaclava with it as well and the straps which fit below the chin which is padded is nice too! ... show more
