I bought a pair of these shoes several years ago and they were the most comfortable pair I’d ever owned. Recently I needed a new pair of shoes to wear on a long overseas flight, but most new shoes take weeks to break in to the point where they’re comfortable. I knew these didn’t, so I set out to get another pair. I could not find them locally, but Amazon carried them. I don’t normally order shoes over the internet, but the earlier pair was so good that I decided to try it. Here’s how it turned out: Fit. I ordered the size I normally wear and they fit perfectly. Comfort. Comfortable from day one, though after several hours of wearing they were uncomfortable. But most new shoes are uncomfortable from the moment you put them on. After about 3 days of wearing them, I can wear them pretty much anywhere with no discomfort. I can’t say, though, whether for you it might take a little more or less time. Looks. This is subjective, so decide for yourself. I think they look good. They are nice enough that I have worn them in business settings, but they’re also suitable for casual settings. Quality. The last pair lasted for years, though I am not especially hard on shoes and also I rotated them with other shoes I wear occasionally. Nonetheless, these were the “go to” pair of shoes, and they lasted well. Summary. I highly recommend them, and am thinking about going ahead and buying another pair soon.     • Beautiful, Comfortable, and Economical
Size: 10 Wide Color: Burgundy
I normally wear a D-width shoe, but that was tight for me for this outstanding loafer. The E-width shoe fits me perfectly. The photo of the shoe, presented online, does not show the actual shine and beauty of the leather and gold clasp, nor the elegance of the shoe design.

I suggest getting a size larger. I ordered a 91/2 wide instead of a 9 medium or 9 wide. They fit well. Look great.

These are the only dress shoe my husband has been able to wear for more than 40 years. They look very nice with his work clothes and don’t wear out easily. We generally buy a new pair once a year or so (less since Covid and not going into the office as much). He wears a 10 narrow and it’s hard to get anything other than sneakers that he can wear without complaining ... show more

    • The world's most comfortable shoe

About 25 years ago, a salesman told me if I tried on this shoe I would buy a pair. I did, and I did! I wore Rivas for 17-18 years in both the US and Australia. Incredible comfort! The best shoes I've ever had. I never wore other shoes, except in very wet conditions. Then about 6-7 years ago Florsheim Australia didn't have the Riva. I bought the heavier Comfortech available. It was OK, but it was not a Riva. Then this year, the only one available in Australia was a hard soled shoe, with no likeness to the Riva at all. The salesman said Florsheim didn't make the Riva styled shoes any more. I googled the question "Are Florsheim Comfortechs still the most comfortable shoe in the world?" To my amazement, I found that the original Rivas had been being made all that time, just not available in Australia??!! I read other reviews where people had the same initial experience I did, and I knew this was the real Riva. Anyway, I ordered a pair online, and have been wearing them the last few weeks. Awesome!     • Very comfortable, long lasting
Size: 9.5 Color: Burgundy Nappa
This is now an old style of shoe but I think it is still a classic that can go with many of my everyday outfits. This shoe has very soft uppers and long wearing soles. These shoes usually last me many years in constant weekly rotation for work. Another good thing for me is that they come in EEE wide widths. There is rampant discrimination by the shoe manufactures and retailers against people like me. It is hard when you walk into a shoe store to be basically told that "we don't serve people like you", "we don't want the extra hassle of servicing people that were born like you", or "buy a shoe that doesn't fit or leave the store". They of course will never use these exact words but this meaning by their deeds is made clear. Most of the expensive and cheap brands refuse to acknowledge our existence. Nike, and others for years have refused to serve us but recently have started to make token gestures to these minority customers. Others like Forsheim and New Balance have always been very supportive of us so I will always give my business to these types of manufactures. ... show more
