I use this for winter runs and it is fabulous. It is very light on my head and extremely breathable. It absorbed my perspiration well and dried fast. They look great and stay on your head nicely snug, not too tight but not too loose as well. Very comfortable and soft.

Love SmartWool products. Very lightweight, yet warm and dry. If it does get wet, it dries very quickly. I use this as a base layer, and the layer other thermals and windproof/waterproof headgear as needed. Has held up very well being packed and used on hikes, no signs of any stiching issues. I've been using this hat for a few years, as a liner under my hard hat. In the summer, it keeps the sweat out of my face, without making me hot. In the winter, it gives me an extra layer of warmth, where no other hat would fit. Hard hats don't fit me well, so this also helps mine to stay in place. I hand wash or toss it in a delicates bag in the machine. I'm a size medium. It's very stretchy, and easy to shape it so any excess fits where I want it to. It has minimal stitching, so there are no seams pressing against my skin. It's not the prettiest hat, but so practical, if you're looking for a liner. I got one for my brother, who also wears a hard hat, and can never find hats big enough for his watermelon head, and it fits him comfortably too. This model is becoming harder to find. I hope they continue to make them.

Pros: Nice fit, warm, soft, fits in pockets without being annoying. Cons: Delicate, mine has a small tear in the back after I wore it with my bike helmet. One year update: Still going strong after a lot of hikin and bikin no more tears or tearing, love this pocket hat.

I wear it around the house in winter time & the amount of warmth it provides is perfect, also wear it under another thicker wool beany or other hat when needed for an added layer of insulation. Deducted two stars because this color (grey) shows sweat & other stains easily & I haven't been able yet to remove them completely, and because the hat is so thin & small they're too easy to lose track of, & for that price they're not something I want to lose, I would rather have a wool blend to make it bulkier (maybe I should have gotten neon green or something : )

I wear a hardhat for work and I love how thin and lightweight but also how well made this is. It keeps my hair contained and I've been able to wear it for weeks and because of the antimicrobial properties of merino wool, it won't give me acne on my forehead or start smelling sour. I wore my old one almost everyday for a year and the weave was still going strong. And I only bought a new one after I lost that one.
