The merino wool is super soft, not itchy at all, and does a great job keeping my head warm without overheating. It’s lightweight but still provides plenty of insulation, whether I’m out hiking, working outside, or just running errands. The fit is spot on—snug enough to stay put without feeling too tight. It also stretches a bit, so it should work for most head sizes. I like that it’s not overly bulky, so it’s easy to toss in a pocket when I don’t need it. I’m reviewing to refute a reviewer who said that these hats aren’t reversible because of the sewn tag inside. They are reversible because the inside tag was sewn NOT with thread needed for the inside seam & it’s easy to remove if you take your time. Beautiful fabric, soft, not itchy. Warm, thin, low profile, fits comfortably but not too tight or loose. I can wear it with my eyeglasses and no pinching. I got the dark red and it looks nice. I have lots of Smartwool products from socks to running shirts and base layers. It’s just dependable and good quality.
