Ordered this Smart Shield reflective insulation to prepare for a metal roof and I was amazed at how well this worked to keep the heat off the house. Its July and yes, its roofing time. Sometimes you just do the projects when you can, right? So I ordered this 24"x50ft from Amazon and it made it fine, but when I ordered the 48"x100ft- well, it was undeliverable. Got a refund, and just ordered directly from Smart Shield. They were great! So if you need a lot of this- I suggest going to their website to order. Back to the product review: this is only 3mm, so very thin, but very effective. Also, I have to say how glad I was for cloudy (not rainy) days when putting this stuff up because once the sun hits this, its like looking across the lake or bright white snow- its pretty blinding! And the heat radiating off this can be pretty intense on a hot summer day! Overall, this was comparable to other brands of reflective insulation. I just prefer this over the bubbles. I'm sure there are multiple uses for this- indoors/garage, RV, vehicle, etc. It certainly seems worth the price! Great company to work with, too! ... show more

I used this product to insulate my travel trailer. It really works well as a insulator of heat, you can feel it blocking the cold the minute you apply it to a surface. It is lightweight and easy to cut with scissors. I can easily attach it with a staple gun without worrying about popping air bubbles. I also created a skirt to go around my rv and it worked for that purpose as well. It’s a bit thin so you want to really attach it well so the wind won’t take it away. ... show more

I needed this thermal barrier for the underside of a metal roof that covers my deck. The white face was perfect and a 50 ft roll by 16 in width would be just right for my truss spaces and lengths. Well, I finally got around to installing the insulation only to find out the product I received was not a continuous 50 feet but had a taped seam at about 20 feet! I had to figure out where to put the piece with the seam so it was not so obvious (ugly). When I got to my last piece to cot from the roll, I was not happy to find out that my ‘50 foot’ roll was actually 49 feet 6 inches. More ugliness to adjust for. My best hope is that it cuts out some of the radiant heat. Yes, I did leave an air barrier. ... show more

    • It Works! Best Defense Against The Sun!

Installed in a west facing bedroom that also shared a wall with the garage. Room always stayed at least 3 degrees warmer than the rest of the hous. After installing, there is only a 1 degree difference. Live on the east coast of Florida. 75 degrees is what I keep the thermostat at in recent 93 degree weather ~ room with this installed remained at 76 degrees. The specs stated that the 2’ roll comes in at 24.5” but it falls shy of 24” by about 1/4”. Now I have to change my installation plans because of this fact. Had I known it was actually shorter than the stated width prior to me buying I could’ve went a different route. Not the end of the world but it would be awesome if they’d state the REAL specs so people can make a better informed decision.
