We lost our Roku remote during a move and couldn’t use the app because we couldn’t connect the box to our new wifi modem. I bought and expensive Roku remote but it wouldn’t properly because it said the box needed a system update. It was returned for a refund and then I saw this remote and figured I’d give it a shot. Had to buy afterine was lost and it works perfect as this is a Roku box remote not tv remote it does not have volume buttons. Which is fine by me.

    • Buttons feel awkward
It works how it should but the buttons have different shape (not in a good way) compared to the original Roku remote. It requires more effort to change the channels but hey it works and was cheap.

I KNOW my remote is around here somewhere...so I didn't want to pay full price for a new one. This one works just fine for the price. The buttons are very shallow and you definitely have to point it at the Roku more deliberately than the official one but hey, it works, I'm not mad.

    • WORKS BETTER THAN OEM REMOTE!!!!
Remote works great. All I had to do was pop in some batteries use ( no manual sync to device needed). The price for this item was an excellent value for me,due to the fact that I just misplace my original remote and I'm sure it will be found soon. Yet, I actually like this remote better because its lighter than the original remote, it has a longer IR range than the original remote as well as my device responds quicker to this remote than the OEM remote included with purchase (hmmm, go figure). This remote does not have the volume control feature on it, but my original remote doesn't either. So for me this is NOT considered a "CON" for me . Love it!!!! PROS: * Lighter weight remote * Longer IR range than OEM *Excellent value *Great replacement for OEM * Roku device responds quicker *Overall better than the OEM remote. CONS: (in my opinion) *No HULU quick launch button ( Hulu subscriber) BUT.... Although some may list "No tv vol. control feature"as a CON in there review , for me that isn't an issue. I would recommend this item. ( And Seller!) ... show more

    • NO volume control...
The volume control quit working on our official Roku remote.. everything else works.. this has no volume control... so it isn't helping our problem... It seems to work fine to change channels.. but we needed the volume control and this didn't solve it..
