  • Why did I wait so long?
Style: White Single Pole Switch-2Gang
What an absolutely cool little gadget! And why did I wait so long to try it? I started out by trying one of these switches on a ceiling light that is turned on when I first enter my house. It worked out so well that I've been replacing switches all over the house. What a marvelous invention. I now have these smart switches in all of the rooms in the main living area of the house. It's so cool to be able to control them with the Smart Life App combined with Google Home. I can control all of the lights and ceiling fans by use of a cell phone, or even more convenient, by just giving the voice command. I can't comment on it's use with Alexa, but I'm sure it will, but it works very well with Google Home. These are so convenient that I can't imagine not having them. The only cons are that they sometimes can take a couple of tries to activate them. The process is easy, but it just may not take the first time and may need to be repeated. Once integrated into the system, they stay connected to the wi-fi in the home and have never lost the signal. I have also experienced a slight delay in getting the Smart Life app to link up to Google Home when adding a new switch, but so far it has always worked well. I did have a problem with one of the switches. I had an extremely difficult time getting it to program. After several attempts it would work only intermittently. I contacted tech support and they agreed to send out a replacement, and it has worked perfectly ever since. The only other con is that they only work in locations that have the white neutral wire. My home does have the neutral wire in MOST locations, but not all. Therefore there might be locations that you would like to use this smart switch but can't unless you go through the work and expense of running a neutral wire to that location. This is not a flaw with the switch, it's just that it needs the neutral wire in order to do it's job. I would suggest taking off the light switch cover and checking to see if you have two or three white wires all connected together with a wire nut. If you do, you're fine. Other than that, this is one of the most fun and the most useful devices I've ever purchased. To anyone watching and not realizing what you are doing when you give a voice command, it might appear that you are talking to yourself, but it's worth appearing a little crazy when you gain so much in convenience. You never have to enter a dark house ever again, and when going to bed at night, you can turn off the lights all over the house without taking a step. Absolutely fantastic. ... show more

  • Super Easy Setup and Attractive Backlight
Style: White Single Pole Switch-2Gang
I bought the two pack because I have a double-gang box at the front door. One switch controls the outside flood lights and the other an electrical outlet that turns a lamp on and off. I wanted to install them myself, but when I opened the electrical box and saw the dozens of wires, I decided that this was beyond my expertise (if it had been at another location in the house, I would have been able to do it). The electrician had no trouble installing them. He commented on how good looking they are and the fact that it's a touch sensitive switch with no moving parts. He connected both of them and we turned the electricity back on. They blinked just as the instructions said. I had previously installed and set up an account with Smart Life on my android phone. The switches were instantly recognized and I renamed them put in my router's password and finished the process. One reviewer complained that there were no instructions for Google Home or Alexa. This is NOT the fault of this manufacturer.... every smart Wi-Fi device that I've purchased leaves that setup instructions to Google or Alexa. I opened my Google Home account, allowed Home Life app complete access and the entire installation was completed in less than 30 minutes! The lights work great - I can control them by voice through Google Home, on my andoid phone, and by Internet on my laptop. I set schedules for them to come on at dusk and off at midnight. I especially like the blue backlights. It gives them a high-tech look. When the switch is turned on, the blue gets brighter. I would highly recommend these switches for anyone wanting to create a smart home through Wi-Fi. Though I used an electrician to install them, more simple electrical boxes have quite a few less wires than mine and can be installed by the user as long as you are comfortable with electrical connections. I always say, when in doubt, always have a professional do it. ... show more

  • Poor Quality & Non-functioning Smart Switch - Lesim Brand
Style: White Single Pole Switch-2Gang
Do NOT purchase this brand. I purchased it a month ago and just now had it installed by a professional electrician, and the switch will not turn the lights on, even though it is powered on. I ordered another brand from Amazon to replace it and it works fine. Unfortunately, I am out $25 and no way to contact vendor. ... show more

  • Works well, install easy, wire connectors are crap
Style: White Single Pole Switch-1Pack
Other products have wire pigtails. This switch has tiny screws that are supposed to make good contact with wire you put in the hole. Really small amount of contact possible. They will pop out when you try to put the switch back in the wall box. Scary

  • Works great after some workthrough
Style: White Single Pole Switch-2Gang
I did not install this myself but that had nothing to do with the switch, just the way the wires in my house were set up. I had someone install for me. Works great but connecting to the wifi needed some troubleshooting. Since the switch only recognize 2.4 ghz signal, I had trouble getting it to connect since my wifi ran 2.4 and 5 ghz together. I ended up having to rename the 5ghz wifi which att helped me with. It was not difficult. By that time I had already added the Alexa skill for Smart Life. Once I could differentiate between the 2.4 and 5 signals, it was very easy getting it set up. Just connect your phone to the 2.4 wifi. Everything works great now and the lights look pretty cool. Having a push button rather than a switch is cool. So not a smooth process but now I know and anything else I add will be easier. ... show more
