Regarding the strip - it is very bright and seems to be emitting much less heat than the Govee versions I tried. Unfortunately, it seems that mid-October the Android app stopped working for many folks and it wouldn't even launch on my Pixel 7 Pro. On my iPad I could still set it up, and I got it working with Google Home. Later I was also able to set it up on a Samsung phone and I realized I could get it working on the Pixel as well - the app apparently doesn't like it when a phone it rooted. So got it working on my devices, support was responsive in working with me on this, and I'm really pleased overall.

I have a few of these lights and I love these. I have a set under my bed rails and a set inside my french doors going out to my patio. You can change the color with a remote or even Alexa. They can also flash with your TV or Music you have playing. The stick well and seem very durable.

It woks better then I thought it would. My only issue was the setup to Alexa, took a little longer then i liked. But at the end, i would highly recommend it

I was really excited about these because they looked awesome -- and they are! So much so that I had a difficult time deciding where I wanted to put them. They are so flexible in how you use them! First, there's a nice long lead between the plug and the beginning of the lights, which opens more possibilities because you can have them begin a ways away from an outlet. The plug contains two leads; one to the light strip and another to a small microphone/controller, both of which have adhesive strips. You can attach the lights AND you can attach the controller to something. Not only that, but they've included 12 adhesive brackets as an extra option. Of the possible options, mounting the lights under my bed is what sparked the most joy. It's kinda silly, it's like what guys do to cars, but listen... when you're lying in bed, it's undeniably pretty rad. Giving myself the option to change my mind, I used a strong temporary tape (across the cuttable sections) to stick the strip to the bed slats. I have a queen-size bed; the strip makes a perfect-sized U from right top, to bottom, along the foot, and to top again. There's some degree of manual control on the controller, but the real good stuff is on the app. There are different presets and you can also define your own. Different colors, patterns, sound reactivity, etc. -- lots to customize here! The app that goes with this strip has worked flawlessly. It paired easily with Google Home for voice control and generally works well. On occasion, it seems that the app and Google aren't correctly communicating and I'll get an error while trying to use voice commands. The app, Google connectivity, and flexibility for use are the highlight of these lights. They're a great deal at the $15 price point and I'm going to order another set before they get popular and more expensive! You can even design light schemes where you can control each individual section of the strip. There's a variety of shades, movement, a microphone and sound reactivity, a bunch of mounting options, and a long lead from the plug -- what isn't there to like?

These are really nice lights that have a ton of super cool features. Everything is easy to set up and it works great. However, it is worth noting that you won’t be able to use the app if you’re trying to use these lights in an area with public Wi-Fi. Even though these lights have both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi the app will only let you connect to them by using your own personal Wi-Fi. Meaning, if you’re on any kind of shared Wi-Fi, the app probably won’t be able to connect to it and therefore won’t allow you to finish setting up the lights to use the app. So if you’re trying to use these in a dorm, there’s a good chance you won’t be able to use the app and you’ll only be able to use them by clicking on the actual controller that’s plugged into the wall. It’s frustrating that there’s not some way to bypass that so that you can still connect using Bluetooth but unfortunately that just is how it is. Having said that, these are still really nice lights, and for the majority of users who will be using them in their home on their own Wi-Fi won’t have any problems. They actually work great in those conditions. So that minor complaint aside, these are definitely great lights, and they’re totally worth checking out.
