I love this thing. My neighbors? Maybe not so much. It's powerful and the mics are great. I've not timed it's battery endurance, but I generally go three or four sessions (maybe 5 songs per session?) without a recharge. The KaraFun subscription opens up so many songs, and YouTube makes it almost unlimited (though the KaraFun songs are usually better quality and have a consistent look). There's virtually no setup. You're singing within the first 10 minutes of unpacking it. You can control reverb settings from the mics.

Setting up this karaoke machine was simple and everything needed is included, from the two wireless microphones to the cables and remote. The system delivers impressive sound thanks to its 280W amplifier and 2+2 channel speakers, filling our living room with clear music and vocals. I really like the 10.1-inch screen that shows the lyrics, and the colorful LED lights add a fun party atmosphere when we sing. Pairing it with my phone via Bluetooth is quick, and it streams songs smoothly with no lag. A highly portable, sleek yet powerful karaoke machine. I was skeptical of the quality considering the Shell S1 promises a lot of features - Premium sound bar, long lasting battery, an android tablet, 2 respectable wireless microphones, ability to display on your TV via HDMI or casting (if you're able to figure out how to install apps), ability to use 3.5mm AUX to output sound to a larger speaker, ability to plug in a 3rd mic or a guitar, the ability to use a USB C OTG connection to directly record to your phone/PC. That said, it lives up to the promises, at least for the week I have had the chance to test it out. The Shell 1 easily fills a fairly large room with ample punch that will not feel lacking (unless you are an audiophile). If you do need more punch (perhaps larger outdoor party or a particularly serious Karaoke session, you can use the AUX out and HDMI to use an external speaker and screen. Or perhaps you will want to go with the larger Break series... For me the Shell S1 was the perfect balance of sleek portability and raw power. I was torn on picking the Break X2 but the extra power isn't worth the not so immaterial loss in convenience and portability. And I could always use another speaker if I really needed to. I should note the Break X2 also has the ability to add a 4th mic/2nd guitar, has a memory card slot, and is IPX4 water resistant, while the Shell S1 is not. But the Shell S1 has an OTG port to let you record directly to your phone/pc that the Break X1 doesn't. And I really don't think I'd use the Break's memory card slot, or 4th mic port enough to justify it. I was nervous about the tablet speed. I had the feeling using the browser version of YouTube was going to be extremely slow and clunky. Don't get me wrong, it isn't blazing fast, but honestly it wasn't too bad. A 1 or 2 sec lag to load sometimes, nothing too crazy, but generally moves pretty smoothly. I'd be willing to spend $20 more if that significantly sped things up but if it cost any more than that to produce super fast load times, I don't think it's worth it. It's not perfect of course. You kinda have to know what your doing if you want to install other apps, and they won't all be compatible. I wish I could choose to send audio through the HDMI connection. I wish it could natively cast its screen so I didn't have to download a clunky app. I wish I could use bluetooth to connect it to other speakers instead of just AUX. The tablet isn't blazing fast... But honestly I really can't complain about any shortcomings. For me the Shell S1 was virtually perfect. Any lower model wouldn't have the sound quality I want, and the Break series would sacrifice on portability more than I'd want to for the amount of additional performance. And I could probably use an expensive external speaker that is better than all of them if I really needed to with AUX. The only final test is durability (it feels very well built), and if they continue to support it with software updates. But so far I highly recommend the Shell S1. Beautiful looking device, super portable, solid performance, highly functional. 5/5 Stars at this point.

I don't normally leave reviews, but I need to make an exception with this one. This machine was awesome! Microphones were very high quality, speaker quality was excellent, and the navigation through the apps and connectivity this top notch. I honestly didn't know what to expect when I opened the box, but this is a high quality machine that is very versatile, and very high quality. Battery life is excellent, and once you enable and login to the Kara app, you are up and running for 6 months for free. There are a lot of songs, and I've found that I can access about 70% of the songs that I want to sing. But there are literally thousands to choose from. Most impressive I think is the battery life. It's amazing to me that this box lasts as long as it does on a single charge. And the microphones. Here's a pro tip, it doesn't come with a book. Power up the unit, open up the LED, and go to the app section of the screen. The first icon is the operator's manual. Go through it to figure out how to work the machine. It isn't hard, and I figured it out a couple of days. But the manual would have helped, lol.

The Ikarao Break X1 is the best karaoke machine I have ever used! The features are amazing, especially when used with the included KaraFun karaoke app. A few features that I find awesome: * Two wireless microphones that charge when docked. * Multiple effects for your voice. (Made even my voice sound better! LOL) * Very powerful sound! The bass is loud and clear. (Could easily handle larger venues.) * KaraFun as well as other apps built-in. * Built-in large tablet. (Noticed at times takes a couple of taps for input. Maybe a stylus would help with that?) * The variable lights on the front are great for visuals. * Several input/output options. (I used an HDMI cable to connect it to my TV.) * Easy to carry with the recessed handles or carrying strap. (It has some weight to it!) * With the included KaraFun app, you can adjust the levels of lead or background vocals. (Check my video for a sample.) * Participants can scan a QR code on the screen to their mobile device to see song queue, add songs, change speed/pitch or play the music quizzes and trivia. (KaraFun.) I had to contact support due to it not having the latest version of KaraFun and they contacted me the next day (Time difference from US to China.) I sent them the requested information and they quickly pushed a firmware update to my unit. Great support! We used the unit on Christmas Eve for singing but the real hit was the music trivia and quizzes in KaraFun! We gave out door prizes to the winners. Everyone was pleased with the sound and amazed at the features this unit has. Note: To get all the features in the KaraFun app requires a subscription. I highly recommend this unit if you’re in the market for an amazing karaoke machine!

What a machine!! We have a blast...literally. It comes out for every occasion. We use it 2-3 times per week. Weekends are truly a party at our house. The sound quality is AMAZING. 🎶 My grown adult kids come around more! Ikarao outdid themselves with this one. A powerhouse! I love how the lyrics can go up on the big screen TV. Portable, we have taken it to venues, parties, outdoors, and it will be coming with us on vacation. Don't let the small size fool you. The bass is incredible and the sound, crystal clear and LOUD with multiple settings. Added a lot of fun to our lives. Ikarao knocked it out of the park with the Shell 1. 💙💙💙🎶

Cons: They got rid of the screen share app they used to have. If you don't have wifi and want to connect your phone screen. Well, nope, don't even think about it, only Bluetooth, but no screen share. Another thing I dislike is that if you choose the custom setting for mics it will not save. It just resets every time. The got rid of the option to surf the web and just left pure YouTube. I mean it's alright how it is now, but it was better before when you had the option. The operating system can be slow or laggy especially if you have it connected on HDMI to a tv. Pros: Sounds really good and it's not hard to setup. The volume control is easy to understand and use, it's literally a turning wheel. Not that heavy and you can take it anywhere. Two mics included with aux availability for more mics. Overall, the physical aspects are pretty good, it's just the operating system aspects that take away from the whole thing.
