The media could not be loaded. I love using Alexa to operate our lighting. These bulbs are great. They offer tons of colors, including 4 different preset white options. Daylight white is my favorite and is somewhere in the 4000k color range. Added two to the living room for the Christmas season. Love the red and green! With the two left, I replaced bedroom lights. Integration with Alexa was about as complicated as adding an echo or a dot to your house environment. If you can do that, you can do this. One big feature I'm excited about is the biorhythm settings through the app, or with an Alexa routine. The closer it comes to time changes in California, the harder it is for me to wake up. I need the sun to help ease me out of sleep. This lets you start ramping up the intensity of the light to mimic a sunrise over a period of time. I've used apps, purchased light alarms and the like. This solves that in a sophisticated way. It will also ramp down at night to help you get sleepy. (I'm sure this can be achieved with other smart bulbs as well and I don't mean to say that this is the only option. I'm just excited that it's possible.) Another thing I appreciate is the dimming ability with very little flickering; an early on issue with LEDs. If you've not used smart bulbs before, this is a very good starting point. You do need to download an app from TreatLife to begin the integration with Alexa. The app has some very nice features on it's own, in case you don't want to pair with a smart speaker. Color quality of these bulbs can go from warm whites and cool whites, to just about any color you want. There's a tempo mode too, which is fun to play with.     • Like hue but without hub requirement
I got 4 of these for installation in two lamps and I'm pretty happy with them. There's no hub required and they are not as expensive that the hue bulbs or the generic zigbee (the standard that hue uses) bulbs. It probably took an hour to set up all 4 including physically installing them. One of the issues I ran into is the switch on my lamp is a step on switch so it was a little tricky to turn it on and off the requisite number of times in order for the lights to go into pairing mode. Once they were blinking quickly, it took about two tries to get each one set up, though the first time took several more before I figured out what my problem was. I didn't realize this at first but the bulbs only work on 2.4 ghz wifi, they won't connect to 5ghz so my phone had to be connected to a 2.4ghz network because the app takes the wifi name/SSID from the phone connection. I do wish the app saved the wifi password or at least provided the option to save it as I had to input it for each one (and there were a few failed connection attempts). Overall, while setup was not as simple as I would have liked, it wasn't too bad and now that they're set up and connected to my google home they are working as expected. One thing that's a little odd though, if I try to select the colors "light goldenrod" or "lemon chiffon" from the google home app, the lights come up blueish for some reason. I'm not seeing any strange or unexpected colors when using the treatlife app though so maybe it's the integration. Anyway, I'm happy. ... show more
