I've purchased many smallrig products over the years. The majority of that has been rigging accessories, cages, handles, clamps etc. which have all been reliable and got the job done. Buying any kind of smallrig electronics was a new thing for me, there's so much more than can go wrong with a battery than with some piece of aluminum, but I trusted the brand enough to give them a try here. I've used 3rd party batteries before (Wasabi) and those have been pretty reliable and have lasted quite a long time for me. Why I bought these over Wasabi , I think again was the brand, and also the style of charger that comes with these seemed more convenient, and the amazon reviews were favorable. Using a pair of smallrig batteries in the canon battery grip, everything functions well, the battery status can be viewed accurately and burst mode (+H) can be used. So far I've only been shooting photos, no video, and those have mostly been single shot. Battery life will vary with usage , but I've been getting around 800-1000 shots powered on the grip. These charge about as fast as the OG Canon battery and last almost as long. ... show more

    • Less Expensive, Reliable Power
I was a big proponent of OEM batteries. However, seeing the name SmallRig gave me more confidence, and I am not disappointed. The batteries and the charger are great. Highly recommended, and if I need another set, I'd buy these again.

    • Great portable charger, nice batteries
We purchased this primarily for the charger, but are happy to have another couple high-quality batteries. In addition to being able to charge two batteries at once, the SmallRig charger is both smaller and lighter than the Canon charger that came with the camera. Its display is wonderfully geeky, showing total mAh for each battery as well as amperage currently being used. Part of the reason it's lighter than the Canon charger is that the SmallRig charger doesn't have a built-in AC transformer, instead getting power via a USB A connection. In our case, this is a benefit since we sometimes want to use a battery bank for power. It's also universal enough that we've always got a USB A charger handy.     • Works great but won't fully charge OEM Canon Canon LP-E6NH batteries.
I bought 3 of these and love the form factor. However, I noticed no matter what I do they will not fully charge the new OEM Canon Canon LP-E6NH batteries. If I put the same batteries in the OEM chargers it fully charges them. I have 8 OEM Canon LP-E6NH batteries and it does the same thing for all of them so its not a bad battery. ... show more

    • Legit! Direct replacement!
Lost original Canon LP-E6NH battery. Been using regular LP-E6N on an R6. You don't get 12fps without the newer battery. Decided to roll the dice on this aftermarket brand, with the normal hesitation considering it's a fraction of the price of the original. Charged it up, installed, set camera to 'High-speed continuous shooting +' and hit the button. Full on rapid fire! You will not be disappointed! The included charger is a bit odd at first, in that it does not have a direct wall connection. There is a USB plug that you have to connect to a normal charger, with a USB A. If you have a powered USB C cable, that will go directly into this charger. Once you get past the weirdness of this charger relative to the normal Canon charger, you'll realize the benefits are -charges two batteries at the same time -shows independent state of charge for both batteries -can be plugged into a normal USB-A car charger without anything else, the wire is built into the charger. Cannot tell you about the long-term prospects, but so far so good! Bottom line, if you're shooting Canon with this LP-E6N(H) battery, don't hesitate. You will not lose! ... show more

I was highly skeptical going into it with these but decided to roll the dice. I use these batteries in a Canon R5 and have not regretted the purchase. USB charging can take some time but that’s the nature of the batteries for the R5. These do as well as the Canon stock battery in my experience.     • Can’t recommend for the R6ii
They worked for a week, then would cause errors the moment I started shooting. This happened at a tournament, so loss of valuable shooting time while I’m running to the car to grab a canon battery. Seemed to hold their charge well and the charger is nice.

I'm wedding photographer, after couple months using, it working great, battery life same as original battery. Charger good, love it has usb cable already, i don't need get another cable in my camera case. Love it.
