The material is very soft. It is plenty thick and the XL (42 x 27) is the perfect for my 80 Ib German Shepherd. She seems to like it. I haven't tired washing it yet, so I can't say how well it holds up but I'm very happy with this purchase.

All in all, this is a great little bed. There is a tacky bottom to keep it from slipping, which works great in our solid-bottom crate. When it first arrives it's super fluffy and sooooo soft. My boys wanted to lay on it!! Sadly, my dog did pee on it when she was crated (she's still learning crate-life) so I had to wash it. I WILL say that the pee didn't get on anything other than the bed because the material on the bottom locked in all moisture and it didn't leak through. That was nice. BUT - once I washed it (it washes easily) the "fluff" was gone. It's just a soft top now and no fluffiness. The mattress itself isn't very thick, so if you are looking for a thick fluffy top mattress - this won't work for you. If you are okay with a simple thin mattress for a crate (that doesn't move and locks in pee) - this is perfect. Just don't get attached to the super soft fluff! That won't last long. :) All in all I am happy with this purchase. ... show more

It is kind of thin but our pup loves it! She is 45lb lab pit mix and the size is perfect. Unsure on durability long term but will definitely update if it’s not very good in a month or 2. Will also update after a few washes. Highly recommend!

My dog has arthritis bad and this pad is the best for him. We have it on the living room floor where he lies, and he loves it. It is very durable and fluffy. Easy to clean. It was priced fairly. I would highly recommend it for any pet that has issues and needs comfort.

    • Picture is misleadingly cushy
The top fluff is very soft and lovely but even after the "give it 24 hours to decompress from the package" it doesn't have a lot of cushion for old joints. It's probably great as a crate pad or washable topper but might not be a great bed on it's own like I intended. Still a decent product with good stitching and fluffy top. I think the cats on the bed will get more use from it than the dog on the floor though. He has yet to like it more than the floor next to it. ... show more
