I have not use the paddle yet but I have demoed one from my tennis club and I liked the demo that’s why bought this. It gives me better control and better power. The description said it’s for an intermediate player which I am not! I am a beginner still taking lessons but I feel this paddle has the right weight which in turn gives me better control! The grip is good and just right for my two handed backhand! I think it’s a good price considering how expensive paddle are these days! Overall I hope this paddle will perform like the one I demoed! I only gave this four stars because I haven’t used it yet! I will use this paddle and may come back and give it five stars!

First, Selkirk product - they know how to make paddles. One of the top contributors to the sport. Now, on to the paddle tech & performance. Grip: Very solid octagonal grip that feels very comfortable in your hand. 4.25 circumference - pretty standard. Also, this is an elongated grip - thus if you like your two-ee - this will work! Weight: The one I got was 8.0 ounces. But still felt balanced thus not heavy in your hand. Sweet Spot: Since this is a "wide body" design, your sweet spot is going to be a bit larger than the elongated when you hit in the center of the paddle. It's more round than oval shaped. Btw, if you're mostly into doubles - the wide body paddle is something for you to look into. Power: Carbon fiber face and the dynamic fusion core helps give this paddle some precent decent pop. Not on the higher end of pop, but ok. Spin: The grit and face of this paddle does allow for decent spin. Control: You will get a lot of control out of this paddle. If you're looking to improve you net play, this paddle will help there with it's expansive sweet spot and it's being a 16mm paddle will give you the softness when you need it. Overall, this is a new gen paddle which the performance of these newer paddles just continue to raise the bar in how much you can improve. And if you're looking for a longer handle for that 2nd hand, this checks that box too. I can see this paddle covering from beginners all the way up to advanced players.

My 18 year old has started playing pickleball competitively and wanted the latest and greatest Selkirk paddle. I bought this paddle for him to use in his most recent tournament and he was so excited. He practiced with it for a few weeks before his tournament and said that it’s a great paddle. First and foremost he likes that the paddle has a lot of power but doesn’t sacrifice control. He can easily place the ball exactly where he wants it. My son owns 3 higher priced pickleball paddles and said that this paddle has the biggest sweet spot by far. His biggest issue while playing is his backhand and he said that the elongated handle is helping him greatly improve his backhand. My son really didn’t find much fault with it and feels that it’s a great paddle with its only weakness being that it’s a mid weight paddle and he prefers lightweight paddles. If you are looking for a paddle with power, control and a huge sweet spot look no further!
