I have been using Slimfast Chocolate Royale for years; like any diet regimen, if you conscientiously stick to it, it works. The taste is OK after you get used to it, and this large bag is a decent value. What I really wanted to pass along was the scoop info. The bag claims to have 52 servings, which according to the nutrition information on the bag should be about 26g worth. The scoop that comes in the bag has 53cc embossed on it, and per my scale (see photo) contains anywhere from 30 to 40g of powder when filled per instructions. (It is fairly variable, depending on what angle you drag the scoop through the powder, how hard you push, how much you tap it to level it, etc. etc.) On average this is much more than the portion size called for, and will result in fewer than 52 portions. The scoop that was in my last 34 serving canister was embossed with 35cc though. Using this, I got 23 to 27g after several tries. Using this scoop, I got almost 55 servings out of my first bag. I would advise using a scoop this size if you can find one, as otherwise you will be drinking more that you think. I wish Slimfast would stop changing scoops, as this is not the first time I have noted drastically different sized ones in successive packages. ... show more

Slim fast bag comes with a scoop. Comes in a strong bag so there is no worry if it accidentally gets splashed. The zipper on it is good. Taste IIS the same as the bottles that can be purchased. Definitely tastes better if you use a blender. The only trouble I have is keeping enough milk around.

Just adding my two cents to the other reviewers who use, enjoy, and appreciate this product. I've used this Slim Fast product about 5 times a week for 7 months and still enjoy the taste. I usually keep it simple: a scoop mixed with about a cup of 2% milk, maybe and add a banana on the side. To get wild, I use the blender and blend it with ice, sometimes with a tablespoon of peanut butter or a few drops of vanilla or mint extract. OK, so I'm not into complicated smoothies, but that's why this works so well for me. The taste is chocolatey and smooth. It is easy to mix, costs less than the bottled stuff (and tastes better!) and lends itself well to doctoring up when I feel like it..or not. I don't use it only for breakfast, though. I have used this as a quick snack in the afternoon when I needed something to tide me over for a late, light supper or when I just did not feel like eating much in the evening. But, any weight loss regimen needs exercise. Along with the shake, I've been using my elliptical. I find that after I drink my shake and spend an hour checking email and other stuff, I feel OK to get on the machine. The shake fills me up, but I don't feel stuffed, even when adding a banana, and it keeps the hunger away for at least 3 hours. If you plan to walk, run, or hit the gym, and need a light meal, this might work well for you. I've tried a couple of other protein shakes and still like Slim Fast the best- mainly because of the taste. I really do look forward to drinking this (I like chocolate milk!) and the flavor is rich. I nearly always use a spoon (less to wash than a blender or a blender cup) and have little problem with the mix sticking to the side- I just stir it using the side of the spoon and it mixes up just fine. So, if you are looking for a protein shake, Slim Fast is a great option. You can find other products that cost more, that tout yard-long lists of nutrients, that appeal to gym rats, or claim medical benefits, but I don't think you will find anything that gives you as a good a value and taste as Slim Fast. ... show more
