    • Nice product, but a couple of flaws

I bought this product when I recently replaced my toaster oven and discovered that every toaster oven on the market now has a super short cord. I liked that this device would cover the outlet and provide that extra length needed for the new toaster oven. However, it is NOT perfect. Pros: - Outlet cover does cover the entire outlet with a minimally flat cover - Cord is rated for 1625 watts, which will support small kitchen appliances with heating elements like toaster ovens, coffee pots, electric tea kettle, etc. - I like that I have 3 outlets now instead of my original 2 Cons: - The cord management kit that comes with the unit is useless. The adhesive backings pull off as soon as you put any tension on it (e.g. attaching the cord to the clip). I followed the instructions to the letter. I thoroughly cleaned the surfaces, dried them, and then cleaned them again with alcohol and let thoroughly dry before adhering the clips. I then let them sit for over an hour (instructions say 15 mins). As soon as I attached the cord, the clips pulled off the surface. I did this exercise again, this time letting them sit >24 hours after cleaning. Same results. It should be noted that I was trying to adhere the clips to a tiled backsplash and a granite counter. The strips to adhere the outlet end of the cord were just as bad. I ended up using industrial strength velcro for that. - The outlet cover does not sit flush against the outlet/wall. There is a noticeable gap between the cover and the outlet. Not a huge deal, but far from ideal. - The outlet cover is MUCH larger than I anticipated. I would have preferred an outlet cover that was the same size as the original outlet plate (possibly even replacing the plate), as that would have made it even more sleek and slim. Suggested improvements: - in addition to a smaller outlet cover as previously mentioned, I would also have liked to see a couple of USB ports along with the 3 outlets - especially in this day and age where everyone has to charge their devices Conclusion: It solved my problem, but it is not perfect and it is VERY expensive for what you are getting. Unfortunately, this manufacturer seems to be the only game in town with an extension cord that provides a full flat cover over the original outlet. It's too bad it is lacking features (USB plugs), and it definitely could use some quality improvements for the pricetag. ... show more

I had an outlet that sat in the middle of an empty wall with the tv and cat fountain plugged in. I hated the way it looked with the cords sticking out. the socket concealer worked perfect. I read the reviews and one said the cover wasn't big enough to cover the plate. I actually had to cut away some of the wall trim around the outlet away because the cover was a good amount larger which was great. Also read the sticky cord holders did not stick. Mine are sticking perfectly. Nothing really to install just plug it in and put on the little cord stickers and done. It looks so much better I have to do some paint touch up where I had to cut trim and I am going to paint the cover also so the whole thing will completely blend in. I needed to install my home camera in a corner mid way up the wall. The factory power cable for my camera is was barely long enough to go diagonally to the outlet that was at the center bottom of the wall. But that looks horrible dragging a cable across the wall to power the device. Using this product, and some cable cover tracks, I was able to make the cable neatly come down and run along the bottom of the wall to reach the corner. I wish I had taken a picture of the wiring situation before installing this great example of clever design. Oh, well. I stuck our router and a couple of associated electronic devices on top of a tall cabinet, where they basically stay hidden. An extension cord ran from an outlet strip sitting on the floor to device plugs behind the cabinet. Your basic messy wiring situation. Not the end of the world, but unacceptable to someone (me) who likes things organized and tidy. The outlet/cord concealer solves the problem in an elegant, well designed manner. I bought one so that I could plug in my lamp on my dresser without having to pull the dresser out to make room for the plug. 10/10 would recommend. These things are great! My dresser can sit against the wall, and I can have my lamp, my alarm clock, and my phone all plugged in. All the cords are hidden and it looks so clean and minimal. I love this idea! I just happened upon an ad for this item and knew I needed one for receptacle I had my Christmas tree plugged into, but it was behind a cabinet full of glassware. I wouldn't have to move this cabinet ever again with the three receptacles on the extension. Once I got it, though, I realized it could help my kitchen range get closer to the wall, so I used it there and ordered another one for my tree! These Sleek Sockets are great! Three foot extension cord is perfect for my needs, but it's great that they come in different lengths.
