  • 3.0 out of 5 stars Just OK but poorly designed
If you have the PS VR you know it's a bird's nest of wires, components and controllers, you realize very quickly that you need a place to put everything. This looked like a good idea but looks can be deceiving and in this case downright misleading. 1.I received this unit with ZERO INSTRUCTIONS, no paper, quick start guide nothing. I literally had to refer to the picture on the box as a reference which made me believe this unit was a return. After reading other reviews, this is just the way it comes. 2.The unit does NOT come with an AC Adapter. Why is this important? Because if you're like me, I added an external 1 TB drive for extra storage. Which leaves only one USB port which is then used by the tower to charge your controllers. You then lose the ability to play via usb cable when your controller dies without unplugging the tower which stops your other devices from charging while you play. There is a port for an AC adapter, why the unit does not include it makes no sense. 3.The pictures shows a neat clean presentation but once you get everything mounted on the tower, you're back to a bundle of wires again and because the unit uses your PlayStation power, there is no way to really hide the wires because they're all sticking out of the front of the PS4. If you think you can plug your VR module into one of the USB ports in the front forget about it, the VR module needs to be plugged directly into the PS4 to work. So what good is this thing? What problem does it solve? It's basically a stand to fit everything into, it's not clean, it's not neat. 4.Another thing to mention is this thing is HUGE. It takes up an enormous amount of space and if you have small entertainment center or console expect to have to rearrange a few things. The reason it's so large is because the base includes a fan that supposed to cool your PS4, because setting it on it's side (at least for the slimline 1TB version) obstructs an entire side vent for cooling. So about that. The button on the front isn't a power button, it's the button that turns the fan on. This is where you'll really miss those much needed instructions. At first, I thought my PS4 was malfunctioning, it' was making this loud grinding noise I hadn't heard before. Then upon closer inspection, I realized that loud grinding noise was actually the fan inside the base. Turning it off, no more annoying loud noise. The next thing that start to happen in very short order after a little time was my PS4 start to take on dust, enough to make the disc drive start to fail and stop reading discs. I researched the issue on YouTube and discovered this was caused by dust build up on the rotor for the disc drive which would prevent it from spinning. A few hits of compressed air seem to fix it. I took my PS4 off it's side and out of this tower. I officially hate this thing now. 5.It's too late for me to return this, if I could I would. Instead, I'm going to toss it in the closet. I took a look at the Collective Minds PSVR Display stand and it's a much better design. Comes with an AC charger so everything isn't dependent on the PS4 for power, it ONLY charges your controllers and holds your headset and has a holder for your headphones and a USB in the BACK so you can charge your wireless headset. Collective Minds...you get me In conclusion, this tower is OK, some might even like it. For me, the cheap build quality that feels like something from Five Below, no instructions, lack of an AC charger, its oversized bulky design and the noisy annoying base that was on its way to destroying my PS4 made the entire experience extremely unpleasant for me. ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Does the job
I liked this set up for my daughter's game accessories. They all charge at once. The only things I didn't like were that it doesn't come with a power cord to plug into the wall itself, it has a usb attachment but that's it and it's too short. The last thing is that the VR headset holder doesn't hold very well. The head set falls easily if it's budged a little. Overall it makes a lot of room because it holds everything. ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars ... I can safely say that this is my personal favorite. It feels high quality and you get what ...
I purchased the Skywin PSVR along with another stand and I can safely say that this is my personal favorite. It feels high quality and you get what you pay for. Pros: - Made out of durable thick plastic. It feels quite sturdy and I don't think it will break easily. While putting the pieces together(see con: no manual included), I put a section into the wrong position and it locked in place. I had to yank it free with some force. It did not break. Very impressive. - There is a spring loaded slide that holds a PS4/PS4 Slim/PS4 Pro snug in place. My PS4 Pro is held perfectly in place and it doesn't slip or move around. The bar holds the system tightly in place. - The stand itself holds the PSVR and it doesn't feel like it could be knocked loose without some serious shaking. The front of the stand is formed to fit the nose bridge area of the PSVR headset and it is quite well made. - The cooling fans under the PS4 are very well designed. They are super quiet and I can barely hear them. The fans only omit a soft hum that is less noticeable than the whir of the original PS4 fan. - Includes 4 USB ports to charge all your devices in addition to the two DS4 and two PS Move charging slots. - There are two ways to power the device. You can use the attached DC charging cable (USB/AC device not included) OR you can use the USB cables on the fan panel to power the whole thing(recommended). - Small feature: The LEDs on the front do correctly show the charging status of your connected devices. (Unlike the other stand I purchased) Cons: - No instruction manual included. Not a deal breaker, but not customer friendly. - The placement of the PSVR Processor Unit (PU) puts cables through the space intended for the second DS4 controller charging slot. It is a minor inconvenience, but not a big problem for me (See next) - The PSVR v2 (PSVR CUH-ZVR2) Processor Unit (PU) is bigger than the PSVR v1 (PSVR CUH-ZVR1) PU. So the PU v2 doesn't fit in this stand. I leave my PSVR PU under my TV along with the PS Camera, so this isn't a big deal breaker for me. - The DC charging cable does not include an AC plug. It is in the text above (just read before you buy). - Cable for charging devices requires plugging into both ports on the front of the PS4 if you want to power all of your devices with the charger. It isn't required to have both plugged in, but it looks ugly having one USB cable just dangling off the front of the PS4. If you are using an external hard drive and the PSVR, you will only have one USB slot for this device. Consider hiding the second cable under the PS4 Final thoughts: - If you are like me and don't need a manual or don't mind having the PSVR PU under your TV along with the PS Camera, this is a perfect purchase for you. Even with the PS4 Pro(3 USBs), External HD, and PSVR, there is still one USB which is more than enough to power this HUB. It is durable and everything fits perfectly apart from the PU. (5/5 stars) - If you need or would prefer a manual, or need to have your PSVR PU v2 in the stand itself, or need the PU v1 in the stand with 2 controllers, this might not be the stand for you. • 4.0 out of 5 stars Not all PS4
Bought this many years ago. I still use it today! Although I have one of the newer PS4 versions that came out after this stand was made. Everything fits, but the 2 USB that go into to PS4 to allow usage of the 4 USB on the stand is nearly impossible to fit into without ripping cords. Then the issue is my PSVR MUST connect via USB directly to PS4 - otherwise it won't work and I have am external hard-drive for many of my games and that, too, must be connected directly to the PS4 in order to use. ... show more
