  • PS2 Console is a Sheer Masterpiece
Since its launch, I had the unique opportunity to play a Playstation 2. At the time, it had a unique, but clunky, design that sometimes made certain games crash. After three years of use, I was hit by the fatal, unfortunate "Disc Read Error" message. The second Playstation 2 I got was this slimline model (75001, to be exact). I was impressed with it then, impressed with it now, and probably will continue to be impressed by it in the future. I bought the slimline back in 2005, and it continues to give me an excellent, hilarious, engaging time with all the games I play on it. I especially like the reliability of the console, as it has lasted me a whopping 8 years and counting. The console does not crash when I play games, even for 8-hour intervals back-to-back 6 days at a time. The controller is fantastic, and all the buttons give an easy reach from the initial hand position without discomfort. The library of games is extensive and wicked fun. Some classics as "Final Fantasy X," "SpongeBob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom," "Kingdom Hearts (I, II, & Re:Chain of Memories)," and "Pac-Man World 2" continue to be fun for all ages, even with the age they are at today. I have also dropped the console, shocked it, and purposefully beat it up on many occasions, and it continues to stay strong in its integrity and reliability. Because of this, I have expanded my Sony products library, from the PSP, to the PS3, to Blu-ray players, and I have continued to be thoroughly impressed with the longevity of each product. Now, I'll just get nitpicky here about some of the specifications here. The reliability of the controller itself is hindered as it gathers dust from time to time. You must make sure to snap the disc in perfectly, for if it is not snapped in perfectly, the disc will not read. Sometimes, the longevity of the discs themselves is not as long as the console, and it is tedious to repurchase discs over and over again, with one example being "Rock Band," personally. The noise of the console's fan can be droning after a long period of time, especially when the console is on long enough to make the console work twice as hard. The warranty should not be too much of a problem, due to how long the console lasts anyway, but I should point out it only lasts for 90 days, which is very small when compared to other console warranties, so I recommend getting an extended warranty to make sure you are happy with the console without worrying about it breaking. The cords are somewhat fragile, so watch out for that if your loved ones or your pets like to chew on cords. Overall, I believe that this is one of the greatest consoles out there to purchase for yourself. It is a remarkable little machine, and I now currently own 3 working PS2s for all my gaming needs. It is very fun to play with friends on this console, especially if you purchase the online capabilities for it. I have been happy with the console since day one, and I would strongly recommend all buyers getting one for yourself. Some Video Game Recommendations: Final Fantasy X Final Fantasy XII Okami Ico Shadow of the Colossus Jak and Daxter; The Precursor Legacy Jak II Jak 3 Jak X: Combat Racing The Simpsons Hit and Run (a parody of Grand Theft Auto that is much cleaner than GTA is) Ratchet and Clank Kingdom Hearts Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories Kingdom Hearts II Medal of Honor: Frontline Burnout Revenge SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie Ratatouille WALL-E Destroy All Humans! Destroy All Humans! 2 ... show more

  • I would stay away and not waist my money ever Here is why
I would not buy them a video game console from the seller again. I bought a PlayStation 2 slim from the seller because it said it was not abused working flawlessly in the description, the first thing I noticed when I got it was after hooking it up and powering it on, it froze on the menu, there are usually danceing lights on the main menu where it reads browser or setting, that was my first hint somthing was wrong then I was like well I'll put a game in, it didn't seam to sit right on the spinner the thing the disc sits on to play, so I put it in the system close it and it makes a horrible scratching noise and would not read any disc, I always got the message disc csn not be read. I ened up doing research and fliped it upside down and it worked, otherwise it will not play any games, so I took it out side and I smashed it will a sleg hammer, I won't be sending it back because I don't want the seller to send it to someone else and waist there money, I bought a playstation 2 for less at a local store and it works flawlessly , you can probably find one for less local like I did Im dead serious would stay away, unless you want to be very disappointed ... show more

  • Happy New Year, and good show all-around. I approve. :D!
Works fine so far. So happy to have another ps2, as I generously gave my first one away to a friend to give her granddaughter for Christmas and have been below the poverty line since not long after that until fairly recently. Owning this console makes my heart fill with joyous emotions and an ecstatic sense of personal pride and achievement, it having been so long, and because, too, I've replaced every game the woman took sans my explicit nor my implicit permission to do so. She also took my memory card, so my hard work was all lost in the act of committing a good Yule tides show of compassion and selflessness. I don't regret it but wish she hadn't come when I was at college attending my classes to collect the system and put me out that way, how she knew I couldn't protest after the fact as it was an extraordinary charity deal on my part and as I also had no immediate use for said accessories. So, I pray that adolescent girl really megaflipped that particular Christmas morning. I felt so much empathy, knowing how going without just is not pleasant and couldn't stand hearing the grandmother's desire to provide this item for her granddaughter. My grandmother has done a lot for me, personally. I felt entirely compelled but would have gotten another system by now surely w the added motivation of my data and the collection of my very much graciousness-inspiring ps2 discs. Devil May Cry, SH2, Resident Evil 4, Fatal Frame.... weeks and some formidable hours of data, indeterminate amounts of effort and expenditures of mental acuity as well as a great deal of intensive l practice at the acquisition of a numerous and highly varied compilation of gaming strategies, series-specific information I found quite entertaining and what I eventually morphed proudly into fairly honed and proficient skills as well as eventually gaining the accompanying accomplishments of earning the benefits of increased/increasing knowledge of each game world and for each game a general autopilot memory and a pleasant, confidence-inducing familiarity. I'll get there again, but it's nice to watch my girl play. She's owned a ps1 and a Sega genesis like forever, and I wanted it so much for her despite the fact that I bought it for self-gratification most assuredly (her happiness and co-ownership of our cool to the max ps2 console are lovely rewards of this purchase I made to finally reclaim my gift to a young girl, giving back to the community for all my many blessings which made me distinctly uncomfortable and more than bordered on martyrdom...). I'm so perfectly excited about the newly acquired PlayStation, just purely and completely overwhelmingly happy w the product I had delivered to me from your company and was extremely pleased with the swift and seamless transaction in general, found your services to be nearly a thing at which to allow one's self to, in much profusion, regard as impressive and at which to frankly for the virtues of decent provision of considerate and reliable service when there are few businesses in the business of doing such, individuals and/or businesses engaging in the retail services and sales industry or even the simple solo salesmanship done as a hobby, small internet-based consumer services, so very few with any ostensible sense of pride in their effectiveness at their allotted tasks or any shred of credibility, competency or the least amount potentially capable of any one human to maintain individually (so, defined very much in a mindset of true understanding and a rather uniquely open and educated and loveplace-generated individual-specific skill sets and personal limits, strengths, particular to each solo person and accounting for his or her very own, special toolbox of motivations and capabilities... measuring performance here using a tool soaked wholly in an unconditional compound of interpersonal caring and an above average form of emotional intelligence and an authentic, forgiving utilization of acceptance) to possess and sufficiently display any notable sources or visible productiveness, any shows of and/or the results of an appropriate work ethic. Hard to find decent people doing a decent job. So, rock further on. Peace to you and yours. ... show more
