View larger Best in class multiplayer action. View larger Pointstreaks and Strike Packages Killstreaks, benefits and abilities awarded for stringing together multiple kills, have been transformed into Pointstreaks, creating a system that rewards players both for landing kills and completing objectives. These rewards have been broken up into three different categories, known as Strike Packages: Assault - Pointstreaks within this package chain together and deal direct damage. It includes classics like the Predator Missile and Attack Helicopter. Your streak resets on death.Support - Pointstreaks within this package do not chain, focusing instead on surveillance and disruption. Your streak does not reset on death meaning they will respawn with you. Specialist - Pointstreaks within this package are designed for advanced players. Rewards come in the form of additional perks for optimal performance. These perks last until death.Weapon Proficiencies Just like your player, weapons now rank up, unlocking additional attachments, reticules, camos and the new proficiency category. Weapon Proficiencies not only allow you to get better with weapons, they also allow you customize your weapons with helpful attributes such as "Kick" for reduced recoil, "Impact" for deeper penetration through hard surfaces and much more. Many proficiencies are specific to their weapons class. And all are geared towards enhancing a certain play style and can allow for efficient use of your favorite weapons in maps and game modes in which they might not otherwise be the best choice. Modes and Match Customization Along with the return of the fan favorites Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 introduces several new game modes. Collect dog tags from killed players, including those on your squad while you prevent the opposing squad from taking yours in Kill Confirmed mode. In Team Defender mode, grab the flag and protect the flag carrier for as long as you can to increase your team's score. In addition players will enjoy user generated match mode functionality which allows you to configure any mode how you want it and then share these over the Call of Duty: Elite online service. 2-player Co-op Special Ops Survival Mode Special Ops cooperative action returns with a bevy of additions, including 16 new objective-based missions and the all-new Survival Mode. Team up online, locally, or play solo and face endless waves of attacking enemies throughout every multiplayer map. Purchase and customize your weapons, air support, equipment and abilities to stand up against increasingly difficult forces and land a spot on the leaderboards. Earn experience and rank up with the newly implemented progression system. The higher the rank, the more weapons, air support, and gear armories you will have available to customize so you can change your tactics on the fly. In addition to the action packed battle for freedom, the cooperative Survival Mode also serves as an effective training tool for competitive multiplayer action. • great condition and game
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 for PlayStation 3 is, without a doubt, a great game with an engaging story. As a long-time fan of the Call of Duty series, I had high expectations, and this installment did not disappoint. The game's storyline is a thrilling and action-packed rollercoaster that keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. It's filled with intense moments, unexpected twists, and memorable characters that make you truly invested in the narrative. The graphics and gameplay mechanics are top-notch, providing an immersive and visually stunning experience. Whether you're navigating through the chaotic battlefield or engaging in high-stakes missions, the game's attention to detail and realism are truly impressive. Multiplayer mode is another standout feature, offering countless hours of competitive and cooperative gameplay with friends or online players. The variety of maps, weapons, and game modes ensures that there's always something new to discover and master. Overall, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is a must-play for fans of the series and anyone who enjoys action-packed shooters with a captivating storyline. It combines a great game with an engaging story, providing hours of entertainment and excitement. I highly recommend it to fellow gamers looking for an adrenaline-pumping experience. ... show more

  • Great purchase
I was so worried this was going to be scratched, not legit or just something. Since I bought it used. I was wrong it came in quickly with everything you would expect from a new disc game. Great condition and worked great!!

  • Awesome.
Fans will feel right at home. And when I say right at home, I don't mean that the fan or fans in question will be overtaken by a wave of nostalgia. I mean that the fan or fans will feel like a college graduate upon sauntering home, after four years of partying and plagiarism, to cross- armed parents who are constantly charged with chagrin every time their basement- dwelling graduate is mentioned in friendly conversations. What I mean is that the fan of the COD franchise will be making a return to the same old thing with much disappointment. But it's also comforting to know that a great game hasn't been tampered with. Whatever. Plus, This game is absolutely frustrating to play if your connection is sub- par. Yes, the online gameplay is predictable, but semi- refreshing. Yes, the shotguns aren't as powerful and yes, the maps are cramped with buildings that dampen the potency of airborne kill-streaks. And yes, it feels like Modern Warfare 2 without "stopping power." So on and so on. Blah, blah, blah. It's COD. What you've seen is what you get. Whatever. But I am giving this 5 stars because I personally enjoy this game. Don't let this review be the defining factor in whether or not you decide to spend forty bucks (or however much you're going to pay). If you want a more in- depth analysis, go ahead and type "Call of Duty" into Youtube.Com's search bar. I mean, it's fun to rack up kills, but it isn't fun to be killed ten times in a row. I've only played the campaign a bit, so I can't offer any opinions on it. Though, it looks really cool so far. I love that it starts in New York. Anyway. The game is fun (far better than Black Ops in my opinion). Final thoughts: If you've played MW2, you will love this game (more or less). If you played Black Ops, the learning curve will be steeper (since Black Ops is vastly different from the COD franchise, in terms of how it handles and how it looks). 5 stars for me, personally. ... show more

  • Very fun! PS3 is the way to go with this game!
What can I say that hasn't already been said? It's a Call of Duty first-person shooter game. The story is excellent, polished, and wraps up a trilogy that has been filled with edge-of-the-seat action. It's continued here, and ended satisfactorily. Like Captain Price? Well he's back, and if you would have played Modern Warfare 2, then you'd know and expect that. Play the single player campaign and enjoy it for all that it has to offer to you. If you've enjoyed solo in the past, this game will not disappoint! Multiplayer - everybody's favorite and many peoples' sole reason for the purcahse of this title, offers a little more than its predecessor. The multiplayer mode is much more balanced, and now everybody can feel like they're making a contribution to the matches. If you can't rack up 25-kill streaks, then you will still do just as great shooting down UAVs, helicopters, calling-in UAVs, deploying recon drones and the like! No single class is overpowered against another class. They've really done a great job in bringing balance to a formerly unbalanced game. The only thing that is a negative is that it is still hard to understand people via the in-game chat. It would have been excellent to include a volume control in the game somewhere for chat. Thankfully, you can still mute those annoying people on your team and leave your friends un-muted. You just have to advise them to do the same thing so they can hear what you have to say over the sound of 11 year-olds screaming in high-pitched tones at how bad you suck as a gamer. If you can, however, rack up a 25-kill streak, then you'll be pleasantly surprised to learn that if you are on the Assault killstreak package, then you will receive a HIDDEN killstreak that is completely awesome - it's called the MOAB, AKA the "Mother of all Bombs." It is very similar to the tactical nuke from Modern Warfare 2, except in this game, it doesn't automatically kill everybody and end the game - it just kills the entire enemy team, and the match can continue until all objectives are met or until the time limit runs out. THAT IS AWESOME AND OVERDUE. If you like first-person shooter games, then Modern Warfare 3 is the king of that genre. And the PS3 version is MUCH better than XBL, since you know, YOU DON'T HAVE TO BUY A SUBSCRIPTION TO PLAY ONLINE!!!!!!! =) ... show more
