    • Exactly as described, perfectly clear... Not for MOST fish!
This is an interesting little tank, it is on the tall side for something that holds such a small volume of water. There are not a lot of options for live animals that could be kept in this humanely, it could hold either a young or inactive betta- but definitely not a female or short finned (plakat) betta, it is smaller than the minimum recommended tank size for them (2.5 gallons is the minimum). It would work well for a temporary holding tank or for a display tank. This could be used to keep a small group of freshwater shrimp, I would personally say 5 or 6 at the most which isn't much. It would be great for a plant and snail setup and having a large front viewing area would allow them to be seen easily despite the overall small tank size. I would strongly discourage anyone from putting any other type of fish in here, please do your research and look into something more in the range of 5-10 gallons at the least... There are many fish you can keep in such a size, but something this small will be incredibly difficult to keep clean. Read up on the nitrogen cycle if you are not familiar with it, in short- Fish produce waste which creates ammonia which is incredibly toxic to fish. The ammonia needs to be processed into Nitrite (also toxic), and then into Nitrate (less toxic but still bad at high concentrations). You REALLY need a filter to allow this process to complete, the beneficial bacteria will live in the filter media (sponges, usually) and will continue to process the fish waste as long as they stay healthy and alive. The smaller the volume of water you are working with, the faster ammonia builds up and the faster your fish will be in danger! If you plan to keep any kind of fish in here, plan on getting a nano sponge filter set up or expect to do very frequent (possibly every 2 days at the minimum) water changes of at least 50%. *Ahem* ...Anyways, this tank is exactly as described- it is small, crescent shaped in the front, and perfectly clear. It feels a lot like glass and feels like it was well made. It does not come with a lid, so plan to either make your own, find something that can be placed over the top temporarily or learn how to safely keep critters alive in an open top tank. Hint.. Snails will climb out of the water if the conditions are bad. (Dirty, temperature, toxins etc). Fish will jump when scared or even sometimes if they are just bored. Not having enough room for the species being kept could cause them to jump in an attempt to find a larger body of water. ... show more

    • Good small tank for a corner space
This tank was able to fit on a small corner shelf. The acrylic is a decent thickness and feels sturdy. There are no seams to leak and and have had no issues with any water leakage. The small size makes it good for a single goldfish, betta, or something similar in size. It will fit a handful of smaller size fish. The one thing I wish that this did come with was a lid. The corner shape makes it hard to find something that will work as lid without custom making something. Overall I like the tank even with out a lid and it looks great on a corner shelf. ... show more

Just the tank so you are able to get all your personalized accessories. Tank it self is light and sturdy, once filled it has a good bit of weight. I only have it as freshwater but it cleans easy, and have to change out the water somewhat regularly.

    • Arrived in excellent condition - excellent little tank for Nano use
OK - first off, to clear it up right away, this is NOT a large enough tank to humanely hold a Betta. It's also not really big enough for a Shrimp Colony (they will outpopulate it quickly) but that all said it IS a solid little acrylic corner tank for a nano setup, maybe a few small Anubias or Buce plants and a couple of Endlers if You use a VERY small corner sponge filter and a nano light. The plastic is actually more of an acrylic than most molded tanks of this size and price point - it's actually very clear with no distortions and the whole shebang only bows minimally when full. As a lifetime Aquarist, I really dislike all of the misconceptions about keeping ANY fish in this small of a container because it's really just not a great idea. This has no room for a heater (eliminating most "Tropical" species) and very little option/room for a filter - meaning it needs to be a self-contained ecosetup IE plants and minimal bioload to support and yet not overload. One thing I CAN say is even though this is a quality plastic and not some molded plastic-bucket stuff - that also means that care should be taken RE scratching it. All in all for the price, 5 stars - no flaws, arrived in great shape, better plastic than most if not all at this price point, etc. PROVIDING You realize the limitations, this is a solid little corner bin ... show more

This is a nice acrylic tank, and it would look good either in a corner or just free standing anywhere - the front of it is bowed out and rounded, which really adds a nice look to it - makes it dimensional instead of just having a straight, flat front My only concern is that if this is used for saltwater, that the seams hold - in the past, I had a round acrylic tank that I used for saltwater opai - it worked well for quite a while, but eventually started to leak at the seam that held the round bottom to the round top - I think that the salts, etc in the water eventually broke down the sealant - as shown, every side on this tank is being held together by a clear sealant - I will be using this one to raise freshwater snails in, so I am not anticipating any problems ... show more

I recently ordered the 1.7 gallon aquarium. The acrylic tank is thick and crystal clear. The edges don't have any unsightly glue or sealant. It's a true clear tank. I filled it with hot water. It stood the hot temperature and had no leaks. Although it's small-ish, it is heavy once filled with water, so if you put gravel and decor, it will get heavier. No accessories or lid included.
