With all the embargo noise surrounding DJI, I was originally planning to buy either a DJI Mavic or a DJI Mini 4 Pro. Then I came across the Skyrover X1. My biggest concern was whether I’d be able to find replacement parts and accessories, but that turned out to be a non-issue. I already own a DJI Avata 2 and a DJI Neo, and I wanted something with a different gimbal system. The Skyrover X1 has not disappointed. After doing my homework online, I found that the X1 performs almost identically to the DJI Mini 4 Pro. The DJI version is a little more polished, but this one holds its own. I’ve had it for over a week now and have put in about 15 hours of flight time. The fixed gimbal (floating fixed gimbal) is the standout feature. It keeps the camera level when filming buildings or subjects, unlike my Avata 2 or Neo, which tend to tilt slightly. This feature alone has taken my photography and video work up a notch. It’s also a lot of fun to fly. Coming from using FPV goggles on the Avata 2, it took a little getting used to flying with a tablet or phone, but now it feels natural. The video quality is sharp, the flight is stable, and the battery life with the Fly More Combo gives me plenty of airtime. The biggest advantage, though, is availability. If the DJI embargo ever goes into full effect, the Skyrover X1 is one of the few drones you’ll still be able to buy and support with parts. That makes it not just a great performer, but also a smart long-term investment. Nov 30, 2025 Update Add-On Review (Follow-Up After Several Weeks of Use) I wanted to follow up on my original review after having a small crash with my Skyrover X1. One of the feet came off, which worried me at first because I’d read a few online reviews saying Skyrover’s customer service was slow or unhelpful. Some reviewers even mentioned having the exact same issue I did. My experience was the complete opposite. I emailed Skyrover support (that’s the only way to reach them), and they responded quickly. We went back and forth a couple of times to troubleshoot, and within two days I had a package with four replacement feet—two for each side of the fold-out landing legs. They didn’t charge me for the parts, which honestly surprised me. No instructions were included, but the fix was easy. Within minutes, I had the drone back together and flying perfectly. I don’t know why other people had trouble, but Skyrover was extremely easy to work with and very responsive. The only thing missing is a way to talk directly with a technician, but their email support handled everything just fine. At this point, I’m even more impressed with the Skyrover X1. It’s become one of my main photography drones. It’s fun to fly, stable, and reliable. I still think it’s a clone of the DJI Mini 4 Pro, but it performs just as well for what I do—and now I know the company stands behind their product too.

I have been very impressed with the SKYROVER X1 so far. It feels like a very close alternative to the DJI Mini 4 Pro while costing around $400–$500 less. As a hobbyist and relatively new drone pilot, I wanted something with plenty of safety and automated features without spending a fortune, and this drone delivers. The screen controller is one of my favorite features. It works smoothly and efficiently, and I like that I can also record the controller screen. The 360-degree obstacle avoidance is especially useful for a newer pilot like me because it provides extra protection against accidental crashes. The waypoint feature is another big plus, allowing you to plan and automate a flight path instead of controlling every part of the flight manually. The camera quality is excellent, but my favorite feature is Active Tracking. Being able to select and track a person, object, or car makes the drone much more fun and useful. Combined with the obstacle avoidance and automated flight features, it feels like a very complete package for the price. There are a couple of things I would like to see improved. When the battery gets very low, around 15%, the drone can start landing at its current location rather than giving the pilot enough opportunity to bring it back. I almost lost the drone once because of this, so I now pay much closer attention to the battery level and return it well before it gets that low. The battery compartment design is also slightly inconvenient. When the propellers are folded, they can block access to the battery, so you have to open or move the propellers before removing it. It is not a major issue, but the design could have been better. Overall, this is a feature-packed drone at a very reasonable price point. With a great camera, screen controller, 360-degree obstacle avoidance, waypoints, Active Tracking, and plenty of smart features, it offers a lot for hobbyists and newer pilots. I’ve been flying the SKYROVER X1, and honestly, if Amazon allowed it, I’d rate this 10 stars without hesitation. This drone checks every box and then some. The 8K photo quality is incredible—sharp, vibrant, and clean with virtually no noise. The 4K/60fps HDR video looks cinematic, and the Super Night Mode genuinely impressed me with how clear and detailed night shots come out. Day or night, the visuals are top-tier. One of my favorite things is how travel-friendly it is. Being under 249g means no FAA registration or Remote ID in the US, which makes it perfect to toss in a bag and go. Add in the 12-month warranty with a local service team, and that’s real peace of mind. The 360° obstacle sensing is a game changer—especially if you’re newer or flying in tighter spaces. It makes flying feel much more confident and stress-free. The 50,000ft (15KM) transmission range is insane, and the 1080p/60fps live feed stays smooth and stable, even in busy areas. For filming, the features are next level. Smart Spotlight and Dual Tracking lock onto moving subjects like bikes or cars flawlessly, and the vertical shooting mode is perfect for social media—no cropping needed. Just shoot and post. The Fly More Combo is a huge value too. With 3 batteries giving up to 96 minutes of total flight time, I can fly for a long session without constantly stopping to recharge. Setup was easy—just make sure your phone’s WiFi and Bluetooth are on, short-press the power button, then long-press to turn on the remote. I’ve had best results flying in under level 5 winds, where it stays extremely stable. Beware the "cheaper" drones as they are, well...cheap! This drone is the real deal and worth every penny! You will want to go with the Combo package as you will want the extra batteries, charger and case. While you're at it, go ahead and get a landing pad and high end MicroSD card capible of 4K video/8K pictures. I went with the two below: STARTRC landing pad with reversable green/blue and even comes with carrying case and stakes to keep it in place. Gigastone 512Gig V30 microSD card with A2 rating. This handles the 4K video with no problem. Bottom line: this drone feels premium in every way. Image quality, safety features, flight time, and smart filming tools all come together perfectly. 10/10—one of the best drones I’ve owned.

Loving this little DJI Mini 4 Clone! I'm up to about 32 flight hours in my first 4 weeks, the drone handles beautifully in windy weather, too. Setting it up is a breeze, and I was up and flying in 10mins, 30mins later I'd tested all the automated functions at least once without a hitch. BUT FYI, IF YOU WANT PHYSICAL DAMAGE INSURANCE FOR $145/year through the direct SkyRover website YOU MUST BUY IT WITHIN THE FIRST 48 HOURS OF ACTIVATING THR DRONE ON THEIR SERVERS! They had absolutely no mention of this within the Fly More Package that I found, so of course I missed out on cheap physical coverage to then watch my awesome little owlings knock my drone out of the sky! You can arrange repairs via the SkyRover website, though they weren't at all cordial when I contacted them. I'd never trust someone like that to work on my drone, and sure enough my one of my front drone arm's pivot hinge snapped. Soft tall grass saved my drone, otherwise, and I made the informed guess my X1's pivot hinges would be identical to the DJI Mini 4's. Two days and $6 on Amazon later I had two new pivot hinges, and the hinge was a perfect fit, and the identical part number, too. So fully understand, for at least the mechanical parts on your SkyRover, you can buy DJI 4 Mini parts very cheaply. I've got 4 spares for front and back now, all for under $30, and also have higher quality propellers and that very convenient wrap around DJI 4 Mini mold that keeps the propellers safe and secure on the chassis once you fold it up, and place it in that quality semi hard soft case that also holds that gorgeous wide screen controller and mt folded up landing pad, the 3 batteries, their shared case, and the lid compartment now holds all my tools, pivot hinges, spare propellers, and my pro wipe pen for camera lenses. Trust me my friends, that wide screen 8K video remote control is a MUST, it makes blind flight a cinch once you adjust to the drone camera's depth perception, amd it's worth every cent in my mind. All in allñ I'm thrilled, the drone is very well built, and in my estimation will be repairable in most crash situations over grass. I cannot compare it to a DJI never having owned one, but I'm very familiar with them, have flown a couple, and I'm not the least bit unhappy I didn't get the DJI 4/5 Mini for an added $500-$700, which may indeed have a couple of more cool features, especially due to the fact that SkyRover is now NDAA compliant and keeps all the server data, our data, on American servers only. Really hope this is but the second of SkyRover's drone offerings, too, because us 107s could absolutely use a nice Mavic clone that doesn't cost more than many cars. Until then!

I have only owned 1 other drone. It was a Flightelf. While it was OK. The batteries were always losing charge quickly and the app and drones capabilities were not great. I used it for work taking photos of roofs and it shot decent video and photos. However, you won't know what you are missing until you get a proper drone like the SkyRover X1. I got the controller w screen and the 3 batteries. Right from the box everything seems very well made and thought out. The controller connected super simple to the drone and after calibration it was up and I was blown away by the features and the beautiful video and photos this thing takes. Ill update again once I have some good hours flying. Im loving it so far!!

Very happy with the Skyrover X-1 with Screen Controller. Easy to set up and fly, controls are accurate, and safety features are perfect. The drone body is very well made. RTH landings are some of the most accurate I've seen on drones. Love the yellow body, very easy to find in the sky and on the ground. You would never know it's not a DJI Mini 4 Pro. I think Skyrover did a better job with the X-1, and at half the price. I would buy the RC Screen package; it's a great upgrade from using your phone. I'm so happy with it; I'm thinking of buying a 2nd X-1. I've seen the X-1 called the DJI Killer; I believe it!!!

Weighed my options for a few months on my first drone purchase and I'm satisfied! I've been out of the photography scene for a while and only ever flown cheap drones but my x1 is phenomenal! With all the built in flight features it's easy to fly if you have a general knowledge piloting drones. The manual could've been a bit more in depth but nothing a few google and YouTube searches can't fix! The only thing I think it should've included was a lanyard, or at least the eyelet screws for a lanyard.

WOW, let's break this down in price. - The bag, cables, a few extra props, a tiny screwdriver, might be worth ... $40 - The three batteries and charging cradle maybe ... $160 - The Controller with screen, let's say ... $250 That leaves this little jem at only around $250 Have some friends at my flying field that have the DJI Mini 4 Pro and the Mini 3 Pro. The Skyrover is pretty much them. I have the Controller with the screen and it's an EXACT copy of the DJI screen controller. The multirotor itself is 90-95% DJI. So far the video and photos are professional level stable and at 4K@60 and is amazingly impressive. I paid $743 after taxes and am VERY satisfied. If I were to mention ANY nit-pick it would be Skyrover does not offer any extended mAh batteries such as are offered by DJI for their Mini Pros.
