  • Very good headphones for the price.
Style: Riff Size: Single Color: Black
For the price these are excellent headphones and a worthy candidate for "daily driver." For me, these are computer/desk headphones. That is my use and that is probably how you should plan on using them as well. The cushions are very soft but the fit itself is on the firm side. Because the cushions are soft, they are nice and comfortable. Because the cushions are soft I'd be hesitant about getting too much sweat in them at the gym. They won't fall off-- that's not the issue-- but I'm guessing you don't want to get the cushions wet. Are they durable? They sit at my desk. I thought about stuffing them in a "getting too full" backpack for a flight recently and I declined to do so. If you are really going to be putting them into very full bags maybe see if you can handle a pair in the store before making a decision. On the desk? As long as you aren't yanking these things off you should be fine. Sound review? This is hard because there is so much that goes into it. I'll give it a shot. I can't talk about leakage because I'm not usually around people when these are on. There is no noise cancelling but the fit and the pads do an okay job of getting rid of a lot of background noise. These replaced some Koss Porta-Pros and some old Sol headphones as my main laptop headphones. (That's where I do most of my work.) So yes, I'm running off a laptop. No fancy power sources. They can get nice and loud and not bring in any distortion. That's good. I guess these are probably "somewhat warm" sounding headphones. I listen to some vaporwave and a lot of metal (black/thrash and such) so I think I cover the need to hear all levels and ranges of sound and don't have a need to focus on one aspect over the other but I guess the elephant in the room is always bass? It handles bass pretty well. It isn't an overly aggressive bass sound but you can hear it nicely and distinctly. There is some punch to the bass but, to be sure, it isn't at the level of beats headphones (and I like beats, but they are also a lot more money). Listening to some of the raw metal recordings, the bass is nice and it handles the distortion and rawness of metal tracks very well. So, the bass is good to the extent that the headphones generally maintain a consistent and clear sound-profile. And there is clearly more bass than more clear or neutral sounding headphones. It isn't necessarily a bass heavy headphone but it is definitely bass capable. I can make the volume louder or softer without introducing any more distortion and I don't have to listen to it loudly to "hear" the music. These are very good headphones for the price. The four stars is because the headphone market is brutal and these are four star headphones, especially for the price. They are not magic value headphones that you would/could pay +$150 for, or something like that. That is, in my mind, going in to five star territory. For the price you will probably pay for these on this site, you are getting a really great pair of daily drivers and they are easy to recommend. I'm considering getting the (a) blue-tooth version of these. ... show more

  • Best wired headphones ever!
Style: Riff Size: Single Color: Deep Red
My kids love the soft feel. Of the double layered ear pieces. They are comfortable even after hours of wear with school or movies. They do not have a sound governor on them so small children may not be ideal. They have amazing sound quality for $19 headphones and I believe these are the ones that are wired and bluetooth. My teen prefers wired because they are hard to connect to her Chromebook, not the headphones fault- her Chromebook is temperamental. They fold up small for convenience and storage. Only suggestion is to charge a couple extra bucks and include a case! ... show more

  • Broken After 2 Years
Style: Riff Wireless Size: Single Color: Black
Be forewarned this will be a little bit of a lengthily review. The Skullcandy Riff Wireless On-Ear Headphones worked sufficiently well for a little over two years for me. Today—they broke in two on the left-side inner headband. I did not stress the headband any more than for typical everyday use. When they broke I was simply picking them up and lightly pulling them apart to place on my head just as I have done with them for over two years. The foam on the left ear also came off about 6 months ago, but I reattached it with superglue and that was effective. These are very affordable headphones at an entry level price point, so you can be the judge of if a little over 2 years of usability qualifies as value at that price. As for the quality outside of the durability issue—I would call them average for the price. The sound quality was passable for audio, but the voice (mic) quality left much to be desired in my experience. I also had some connectivity oddities when pairing with my Windows 10 PC. For instance the headphones seemed to have two device profiles, one called Riff Wireless Stereo (No Voice) and one called Riff Wireless Hands-Free AG Audio (w/ Voice). In my experience you cannot use both profiles and need to select only one. So basically you cannot have stereo audio and voice capability together. The Hands-Free AG Audio is mono and frankly sounds terrible. So if you're planning to game with these I would look for different headphones. So baring in mind those issues you can decide whether these would work for your specific use case scenario. Based on my experience I feel like Skullcandy has decreased in quality. I have a pair of Skullcandy Uprock wired headphones from the early 2000s that still work very well and sound very good for the price—which was around $20 if I recall. ... show more

  • Great over-the-ear headphones
Style: Riff Wireless Size: Single Color: Gray/Teal
They came in a day, so I was only without headphones after my son broke the other pair for just a little over 24 hours.

  • Great headphones!
Style: Riff Size: Single Color: Blue/Sunset
I honestly didn't think that Skullcandy was even around anymore! They were crazy expensive when they first came out! Now they are quite affordable but that doesn't mean that they have started using cheap materials! They are everything that you would expect from this brand!
