I bought two of these headphones in one order, one for myself and one for my girlfriend. While they are pretty comfortable overall, her pair unfortunately snapped up near the top of the ear cup after less than a month of use; and broke at such a sensitive stress point that they aren't worth repairing The headphones overall function wise do what they do, they are okay with some level of noise cancelling due to the plushiness of the earcups, but they don't have a noise cancelling mode. The buttons are good if a bit stiff to push through the rubber membrane for power, volume up, and volume down, but overall work fine. Comfortable, just worrysome in regards to the plastic breaking via tension in the band by wearing them and long term reliability ... show more

    • Broke straight out of the box
I was THRILLED to receive these. I opened the box, pulled the headphones out, pulled them open and pulled down on the volume side of the set, and the plastic bracket broke on both sides. Had to super glue it back together (seller offer ONLY a return)(I bought these to USE, not to return) On the flip side they have great SkullCandy sound and noise cancellation. I was planning on buying my grand daughter a set, but this cheap construction would never hold up to her. I like the product, but not the construction. The lack of replacement options guaranteed that I WILL NOT buy any more from them. Kinda pissed. If they were only 20 or so bucks, I wouldn't care, but I'm not willing to buy from someone who only offers a return policy. Even if I returned them, I would have to jump through all the hoops, and then PRAY that they didn't break again if I reordered them. Very dissapointed. SkullCandy has a great sound, but some really bad construction. At least with the Hesh 3 I will work on these and get them fixed. But they will not get any more orders from me. I'm homebound, so I order hundreds of items every year.. UPDATE - another one of the support pieces on one of the ear cups, this time on the left side broke just because it fell off a table. These things are so cheaply made! I am a 60-year-old man and I am not hard on things, especially when it comes to my electronics. These just simply fell off the table and fell 18 in onto the floor and broke. You would think for this kind of price you would get something a little bit better made. Worst part about it is I've reached out to the company a couple of times and it doesn't seem that anybody cares to do anything about it. I am now decided I will find another brand of headphones to use and to recognize but the Skullcandy Hesh 3 is not one of them. They have great sound quality, but they are made a very cheap materials. If it only broke once I wouldn't think that was so but the exact same piece is broken on the other ear in the exact same place. And there is no reason they should have.     • Battery life is great!
I use these everyday for the gym and since u have gotten them I’ve needed to charge them one time I do feel like they are a little tight but I really do love the quality! They are very good for the gym because they are light weight and the batteries last so long

    • Fragile headphones
I am not an audiophile so I am not qualified to rate quality of sound etc, I just needed simple wireless headphones for casual morning walks with Buddy Dog in the park for a couple hours each day. I read the reviews that said the headphones are kind of brittle and I thought I'd be the exception so I was extra gentle with them and they still broke in numerous places. After using instant bonding glue they were fine, that is until they broke again and again. The only reason I wouldn't buy them again would be because of the fragile design and now although they work sound wise, they will sit in the landfill for the next thousand years probably because they just can't be worn. They fit fine, I have a small head and small ears, and they seemed to work even on my small head, and the pairing was always easy and I am not a tech person, in fact if I figure out how to post pics I will do so shortly.     • Nice sound, better than the Chinese brands
The reviews are rather mixed with many saying they died an early death. I didn't see anyone mention they have a strong "we'll make it right" 2 year warranty. And unlikely a lot of the Chinese no-name headphone companies, Skullcandy has been around since 2003, is headquartered in the USA, and will likely be around for 2 more years. Hopefully mine won't fail but I'm fairly sure Amazon or Skullcandy will replace them if they do. They sound quite good and notably better than any of the Chinese brands I've tried like Mpow, Taotronics, Cowin, etc. The bass is deep and somewhat punchy without being boomy, muddy, or over powering. The mids and highs are clear and nicely balanced. The have a relatively clean accurate sound rather than the harsh fatiquing sound of most of the similar headphones from the Chinese brands. They play fairly loud and the volume control works well. I haven't tried the microphone on any calls. They're fairly comfortable although the inside of the earcups could be bigger. They also have a bit more clamping force than some which is good in that they're very stable on your head but might be bad for long term comfort depending on the size and shape of your head and ears. They pair easily, have the usual audio prompts, and the bluetooth range is quite good. They come with a high quality fairly short wired cable to use them as wired headphones as well. Mine are still going strong on their first charge so battery life seems good. They're not very exciting to look at. Mine are blue as that was the least expensive color. It's a drab blue gray and there's no flashy trim. They're lightweight for their size and the build quality seems fine. They don't fold super small but they also don't mangle their ear cushions when folded like most of the Chinese versions do. You can also rotate the earcups "flat" if you want which is how they're shipped. The box they come in is designed to also be used for storage and transport if you want.
