  • Excellent Microphone Quality
I get consistent comments on Discord, Zoom, and other various voice chats that my microphone sounds like I’m using a separate streamer’s quality microphone. I get headaches pretty quickly from most headsets that squeeze my head but these are super comfortable in my head. Side note These sell for < $30, not $79. There’s no reason for them to be priced so high right now. ... show more

  • Feels Premium and Durable
The Skullcandy Grind feels the most durable out of any headphones I have owned. I probably won't do this often, but it feels like I could throw these headphones in my backpack whenever and they'd be fine. I am very happy with the sound. In comparison, the sound is about as good as the Skullcandy Riff or my old Sony MDR-ZX750BN headphones, and far better than the JLab Studio Pros. Not quite as good as the Skullcandy Crusher Evo. The headband is excellent. It is comfortable and light, but it feels premium and durable as well. It reinforced with metal materials instead of the typical flimsy plastic. I wish more headphones had a headband like this. It is the best and most comfortable headband of any headphones I have tried. As for adjustability, the ears can slide up and down for bigger or smaller heads, and they have just a little bit of wiggle room for forwards and backwards adjustment, though they don't fold up or fold flat. The ear pads are okay, but not the most comfortable. If you are used to on-ear headphones they probably won't bother you too much. I ended up taking off the earpads it came with and replacing them with ones from the Skullcandy Riff. (I broke my Riff's cheap plastic headband, but the Riff's earpads are softer, thicker, and have a better ear shape than the ones that come with the Grind.) The only thing that is annoying to me about the Grind is the Micro-USB charging port, I wish there was a newer model with USB-C... But I guess they don't make models like this one any more. The Grind came out in 2016 I think. The 3.5mm port is good to have. The controls (volume up/down, play/pause) work great. ... show more

  • Awesome budget headphones, I've bought 3
I originally lucked into purchasing these several years ago while traveling for work. I was looking for something that would sound ok, fit in a backpack, work as conferencing phones in a pinch, and not look ridiculous in a professional environment. The pickings were slim in the big box store, so I settled on these Grinds due to the feature set, even though the name was silly and I had no faith in the Skullcandy brand. In other words, I had very low expectations. Well, these headphones turned out to be the best 50ish bucks I ever spent. I wear them a couple hours every day and sometimes much more. Now they are discounted on Amazon, so I bought 2 more - one to give to my 16yo son and another as a backup for when my current ones wear out (my son also loves them BTW). What makes them so great? First - they sound great. Not just great for the price, but great period and absolutely incredible for the price. Second - they just work. Pairing is a breeze, all the controls are logical and well laid out, mic works well, Bluetooth distance is good. Battery last forever and is quick to charge. And they can also be used wired if needed. Third - they are built simple and rugged. No they don't fold like an origami puzzle, but that means there are no weak hinges to break. Finally, I find them very comfortable. The negatives - these are not the choice if you need noise isolation or ear protection. For my use, I actually prefer this because my family can still get my attention when I'm wearing these. They don't fold flat for traveling, and fit a bit too loose for workouts. Simply put they are the perfect headphones for doing chores and hobbies around the house, and do a good job as conferencing and travel headphones too. ... show more

  • Grind Wireless has great sound and is built well
I own several headphones including hesh 2 wireless and some of the Sony xB line. To be fair I will only compare these with other headphones in similar price range like Sony xb650bt and hesh 2 wireless. Sound The sound on Grind is quite good. It is balanced and does have more base then hesh 2. Overall I think they sound the best of the of thos I have in similar price range. Hesh 2 is balanced but flatter and xb650 favor base more over other tones. Bluetooth The range and connection is about average. There is not the slight thud with Bluetooth when there is some time of silence like with hesh 2. Range I'd say is about 30 feet before it starts cutting out. Comfort/Fit For an on ear these are pretty comfortable but after a few days of wearing I can feel them pushing on my ears more. The ear pads are soft but not very thick. This was kind of the opposite sensation I had with the other headphones that started out stiff and hurt ears more but over time have conformed to my ear size (hesh 2 and Sony's) It does have some padding on the headband which is hard to see in the product photos. I think some of the styles have different padding. My pair is the black version. Style These are pretty simple and fit nicely on my head. Unlike hesh 2 that have a very wide fit and cans are just huge, there have a much smaller for factor. I don't feel embarrassed wearing them in public like I do with the hesh. Sony is kind of in the middle with larger cans but the band is straight around the head. Overall I like the grind style the best. Feature/accessories The grind wireless come with micro USB charging cord and a 3.5mm audio cord (no mic on it so you can only use mic in wireless mode). The button controls are small and simple but I would prefer if they had put the power button at the bottom (like with hesh 2) as opposed to in the middle of the volume buttons. I have accidently hit power button instead of the volume several times. It doesn't turn off without a long press so no issue there is just is a bit annoying until you get used to the layout. One good improvement over hesh 2 wireless is that the power button light is much smaller and the obnoxious blinking is not there. It still blinks when in use but the light is much smaller and with its placement is far less noticeable or annoying. Durability The band is aluminum so should hold up much better than hesh 2 wireless. Weight is also much less so dropping should not be as much of an issue. No carrying case included (or even the thin bag that came with hesh 2, at least it was good for putting the cords in). These should be fine to throw in a bag as long as your not piling heavier things on top of them. Battery life Rated for 12 hours and this seems accurate. They get longer life if you play at lower volumes. Overall These are a solid on ear headphone. Have very good sound, Decent comfort and good build quality. For less than $100 headphone these compete very well against similar priced competitors. ----------------UPDATE 8/17------------------ After several months of use the headset has become quiet uncomfortable. it's kind of ironic because the opposite happened with hesh 2, which became more comfortable as you use them. the ear pads are thin on these and lose their comfortable quickly. also one other very annoying issue, the headband was not small enough. i dont think i have that small of a head but even at the lowest setting i found them sliding off my head unless i was making sure to keep my head still. sad because i really liked the sound and look of these. im sure for the right person they would be perfect but maybe not if you have a small head. ... show more
