Top Amazon Reviews

  • Skullcandy and BOSE have teamed up to create a Masterpiece.
Color: True Black
As a Skullcandy Fanboy and owner of Crusher ANC, Crusher Wireless, and Method 360 ANC earbuds you can be rest assured my review of the Crusher 1080 ANC Headphones will be pretty darn accurate. The attached photo shows them all in a line, and also shows the many features the Skullcandy app offers for these particular Headphones. As you can see, my Crusher ANC's have been used and abused for years and are finally in need of a replacement. All that wear was due to me falling asleep wearing them often, and wearing them while biking, mowing the lawn and doing chores while sweating profusely most of the time. These headphones are comfortable to wear, lightweight, and can be adjusted to fit your head perfectly. The build quality is heads and tails above the rest of the line up. Big point here, we finally have legit noise cancellation. These feel every bit like the premium headphones you would expect at this price point. Now for why you are here. Is the bass still here?? Does it crush my skull?? Yes it is and yes it does. The biggest difference between these and my now second favorite Headphones the First Crusher ANC headphones is the amount of customization you have. Now with BOSE in the mix, the bass may not hit QUITE as hard (but trust me it's still there if you turn up that dial) when listening to regular music that isn't bass heavy as there is this new feature that I like to call "insane clarity" allows you to hear notes you didn't know were even there. Now for bassheads like me who like old school hard hitting bass like Bass 305, Techmaster PEB etc, the bass hits just as hard, but without having to max out the bass. With just a slight turn of the dial (which I prefer over the slider of previous versions) the bass still shakes my head as awesome as ever. Even better, if you want more bass without even having to turn the dial, you have control over the E.Q. and can make changes right there that truly make a difference without having to turn the dial way up. BOSE also introduced something called TrueSpatial which may be a BIT gimmicky however, it's kind of cool to set it to "Motion" and as you move your head left, right, up and down, the music just seems to follow you. Something you would use a lot? Probably not, but still a fun little option to have. Personal Sound. This is not a gimmick, and works as well as ever. You truly hear the difference when you turn it on as opposed to having it off. Notes I may have missed, are suddenly there as they seem to be amplified just where they need to be as I have tinnitus as some of the highs I have always missed in the past are now audible and actually had me in tears in front of the Wife earlier today. Finally, I can hear music the way it was meant to be heard. Conclusion, for those of you who know what it's like to put on Crushers by any name, these headphones will not blow you out of the water as you know what Skullcandy can do, but these are indeed a worthy upgrade from previous versions of the Crusher line up due to their customizability, and superior Noise Cancellation. For those who have NEVER experienced Skullcandy Crusher Sensory Bass, these will blow your mind! Don't think about it, just buy these and prepare to hear music the way it was intended. • Immediate Regret
Color: True Black
I bought these after owning the Crusher ANC 2s, and I felt sick almost immediately after trying them out. It was an instant regret. As someone who owns and tests plenty of wireless ANC headphones—including the Bowers & Wilkins Px8 S2, Sony WH-1000X, Sonos Ace, AirPods Max 2, and Bose QC—I can safely say that while the Crusher lineup occupies a unique "head-rattling low-end" niche that other brands don't even attempt, this new 1080 model has absolutely no place in that conversation of ANC and sound quality. It is an overall fail, and I am definitely returning them. Build Quality, Weight, and Fit The build quality prioritizes premium materials in areas that simply do not matter. They added aluminum on the headband, a bigger Skullcandy logo, more exposed screws, and detailed textures on the knobs. However, all of this aesthetic flair comes at a major cost: extreme weight. You will notice the heaviness immediately, giving off a similar bulky weight feel to the AirPods Max 2. Because of that added weight, the fit is problematic. While I didn't experience any clamping discomfort, if I lean or bend over, the headphones literally slip right off my head. Worse yet, after just one day and maybe an hour of total use, I noticed visible stress on the headband and ear cup connections. Comparing the 1080 directly to my ANC 2, these bands and cups look like they are going to wear out really quickly. App Frustrations & Bose Partnership Disappointment The Crusher app experience on the 1080 is very glitchy. It took me multiple attempts just to sync it with my iPhone 15 Pro Max—something I never had to deal with on the ANC 2. The GUI on the ANC 2 is vastly superior, especially when setting up personal sound profiles, adjusting the equalizer, and controlling the Crusher gain. On the 1080, the EQ is completely useless because the gain adjustments are almost void, and the built-in presets sound even worse. Furthermore, the physical Crusher knob and the app gain constantly conflict with each other. If you turn the physical knob to MAX, the app can read at minimum (and vice versa), which leaves no actual headroom or precision for tuning. I honestly don't know why Bose put their name on this collaboration, because the ANC performance is below the lowest standard—it doesn't even come close to matching old-school Bose QC35 standards. Sound, Haptic Bass, and Call Quality The sound tuning on the 1080 completely lacks performance compared to the ANC 2: The Bass & Haptics: The bass is nowhere near the ANC 2. I'm not even a total bass-head, but the difference is massive. To get any noticeable haptic response out of the 1080, you have to max out the slider and push the total volume past 70%. On the ANC 2, you get twice the physical impact at half that volume. Sound Modes: The "Still" and "Motion" spatial/sound settings are completely gimmick pony tricks. The better option is leaving them both off, as turning them on just degrades the audio quality further. Microphone Performance: On calls, you will sound heavily artificial and "AI-like" to the person on the other end. The only positive is that background noise cancellation works well, and callers come through clearly on your end, but your own voice sound is heavily processed. Stay-Aware Mode: Completely average and nothing special to write about. The Unboxing & Packaging As a minor annoyance, the included instruction card uses font so tiny and fine that it made me wonder why they even bothered putting it in the box. The Bottom Line There are simply too many cons weighed against the pros to recommend these at the asking price. The battery life is identical to the ANC 2, but literally everything else—from the heavier weight, slipping fit, and glitchy app GUI to the severely neutered haptic bass—is a massive step backward. Save your money and just buy the Crusher ANC 2 instead! ... show more

  • Bass heavy not well balanced sound.
Color: Primer
Ok, I gave these Skullcandy Crushers 1080 ANC, it’s fair chance to impress me. I listened to classic rock with some funk and here is my subjective opinion. If you like heavy bass mixed with a muddy sound these are your go to headphones. I adjusted the EQ by increasing the vocals, mids, and highs. Then I lowered the upper and lower bass and these sound washed out. The bass knob on the left side is a great booster if you really want to feel the bass. These are geared more towards bass, maybe rap and hip hop are better genres for these headphones. Now, they’re very comfortable and the app is very straightforward to use. Connectivity happens without a hitch. ANC is very good and the transparency mode is good too. Granted, I didn’t turn these up to very high volumes but I can only imagine, if they don’t sound that great at a normal volume, they won’t sound much better at high volumes. They’re decent headphones at this price point hence the 3 stars I awarded them. I thought I’d try them out and find the right balanced headphones for me. Unfortunately, these aren’t what I expected. ... show more

  • Unmatched quality, I love these!!
Color: True Black
I am so in love with these incredible headphones. The sound quality is unmatched and I'm obsessed with the haptic bass feature. The buttons are super intuitive. I was able to connect seamlessly. The squishy ear pockets fit perfectly and the noise cancelling feature is so impressive; tested it out with my 6 year old and a friend playing war. One minute they're here, the next I'm boppin to Heat Waves, my summer favorite. Thank you for making these amazing headphones!! Looking forward to traveling with them and lookin so fly. ... show more

  • Not Bass Heavy BUT Theater Bass
Color: Candy
If you’re looking for theater-sounding headphones, I’d say these headphones are probably the right fit for you. These headphones however in my personal opinion are NOT bass heavy, however they’re a good STARTER before moving onto bass heavy headphones such as the Crusher Evo. Like training wheels. My personal favorites: The buttons > Personally they’re great, but I liked the dial bass for the Crusher Evo much more. When you skip a song with these headphones, there is also NO awkward pause or delay, just the next song IMMEDIATELY. No lag, no delay, no pause. (And for videos as well) Plus, the buttons feel kind of like I’m playing games. Just a me thing? Okay… The dual connectivity > Connection to TWO devices makes for a seamless transition. I had it connected to my car and my headphones, and it made things quick and easy once I had to get out of the car. What do you mean I don’t need to wait for connection? 👀 The wear detection > When I took the headphones off, it PAUSED my music or video for me and genuinely I was surprised. There’s a setting for it in the app if you want it off or on. ANC > The ANC drowns out loud factory noise and it is customizable. It does pretty damn well making sure outside noises aren’t disrupting your experience. Sidetone > If you’re the kind of person who wants to hear your own voice while wearing headphones because you’re a big singer or you’re trying to talk to someone and don’t want to be speaking gibberish, there’s a setting for that too and it’s customizable! It works pretty well. Comfort > These headphones look bigger than the Crusher Evo, at least the ear cups (in my opinion). I had to move from the Crusher Evo to the Crusher 1080 ANC because of the lack of head cushioning for the Crusher Evo - They were not appropriate for long hours and hurt my head. I feel like I’m wearing luxury clouds when I slide these headphones on. They have a decent weight to them, and are definitely built to last. OVERALL RATING: Okay, so I know what you’re thinking. Why give 4 stars when I love so much about these headphones? I really loved the bass on the Crusher Evo, and I’m a LITTLE disappointed that they don’t pack the punch the Crusher Evo has. I love these headphones though. I’d say they still deliver with songs that are bass heavy, like metal BUT there’s a special spot in my heart for the Crusher Evos. They hit in the way the Crusher 1080 ANC can’t. Oh, did I forget connectivity TO the SkullCandy app? So they had some trouble detecting the headphones. It was a little frustrating but after a few tries, they finally detected my headphones. Hope you find this helpful! 🩷 ... show more

  • Nope. Absolute trash. Returning.
Color: True Black
Absolute trash. I wasn't expecting the best sound. I had a qc ultra 2 in the room to compare and as expected thisbis way way waaaay worse. Butbi had a qc 35 from 2018 too and thisbis still worse sound quality. The anc is close to non existent. The cmf by nothi g 79 usd ones do a better job. Both pretty bad still. The crushe r thi g does nothing NOTHING for bass. If snything it just makes bass harder to hear. It only applies to SUB BASS. Basically the kick drum. Not a single note from a bass guitar or keyboard is within its range. The fit is too small and first headphones from the others mentioned here that gives me that feeling. Cups too small feels on ear. Vibrsting fx gave me instant headaches. Anc stopped worki g had to hard reset twice. Returning and never looking back. Absolute trash. I'm guessing they know it's trash. They offered me 56 usd back to keep it when I selected the return button and even then I don't want it. ... show more
