Not necessarily detrimental, but definitely not very beneficial. This moisturizer is great! I added it to my skincare regimen about 5-6 months ago and I am very pleased with the results. It leaves the skin so nourished and the moisture that’s added really penetrates and lasts. There is no discernible fragrance- which is a huge plus. The product is not at all heavy or greasy.     • The best moisturizer I've ever used on my dry skin!
I got a small sample tube of this cream with a beauty box I subscribe to. Before that tube was gone I was here on Amazon buying the full size. I have sensitive skin and it's always on the dry side. I was going through a very bad spell that lasted for days after having used a mask that was way too irritating. My skin was actually sore. While using the sample, my skin irritation vanished completely. So I thought afterward that maybe it was a little heavy, but I've been using and loving it ever since. It is very pricey, but the price here was actually much lower than on the web site associated with the beauty box I got my sample in - definitely great prices on this brand here on Amazon. You only need a tiny pea-size amount to moisturize your whole face, so the tube lasts foever. The consistency is like a thick gel cream that spreads easily over your entire face. It's super moisturizing and the moisturized feeling lasts me all day. Now this cream would likely be too heavy for people who have oilier skin, and I may have to back off a tiny bit in the hottest part of the summer, but otherwise, this is my go to moisturizer. This is very similar to the old M.D. Forte/Vivite non-glycolic acid hydrating cream. I love it. If you are using Retin-A, it is very calming and soothing to your skin. Not much of a smell. Hydrates really well, but not greasy. It's like a nice drink for your skin. My complaint is the price is ridiculous considering you only get 2 oz. and it doesn't really contain any fancy ingredients justifying the mark-up. ... show more

    • I would like to say how I absolutely LOVE this hydrating cream
I rarely write reviews but when I do, it's because the product has a significant impact on me. So, in this review, I would like to say how I absolutely LOVE this hydrating cream. I am almost towards my mid thirties and the past winter, I've noticed that my aging skin has started to look drier (and dull/tired) than it normally used to be (Getting old sucks :(). I was searching high and low for that perfect hydrating lotion and finally, I found this. I do pair it with Skinceuticals serum 10AOX+, but I didn't see any distinguished improvement when I was using the serum with the Skinmedica ceramide lotion. Now, don't get me wrong, the Skinmedica Ceramide was a good lotion too, but for this colder and drier weather, I will have to kick the Ceramide to the curb until summer comes along. Or maybe I can still use this lotion in the summer...hhmm...Anyway, not to get side tracked, after just a few days of using this lotion, I can see a great difference in my skin. I can tell that indeed it rehydrates my skin and even gives it a glowy refreshed look. I am very happy that I found this lotion. I wish I had found this out last winter, but hey, it's better late than never! ... show more

This is a a heavy feeling hydrating I tried with the TNS serum. It’s goes in very heavy but quickly absorbs and wasn’t that hydrating. I used as a day and night cream and found after a few hours, I needed to reapply. I need something that will hydrate all day or through the night in the winter. This is not it. I also felt it left my skin a little chalking feeling. Like there was a layer of film in it. I felt anything from your local drugstore would be just as good. I used for a month and noticed no difference in the way my doing looked or felt overall. ... show more
