Style: Flooring Saw
This saw has been so helpful in installing laminate. This is my 4th time doing laminate, And I've used a variety of tools or lack of tools to accomplish to each job. If you happen to have a miter saw and table saw in your garage that's awesome and you don't need this tool. This is the only tool I've found (other than a jigsaw operated with a lot of patience) that will do your ordinary cross cuts and also rip the boards down the length. It switches back-and-forth between cross cuts and long cuts fairly easily but it's annoying when you have to go back and forth. The fence on the long cuts is not Secured with the screw that you use for the cross cuts so it kind of wiggles. For some reason on about half of the long cuts the blade felt like it was getting stuck, probably was how I was feeding it because I was operating this from About a 5x 8 balcony with the saw on the floor. It comes with a pretty decent carbide tipped blade that actually a cuts through those cross cuts very smoothlyand fast. I'm using this on 8 mm laminate with attached pad. Some other reviews I had read said it chipped laminate. I always cut with the finnished side down because you mark your boards on the bottom anyway. Plus with any saw this seems to cut down on chips. I read a lot of reviews complaining about the dust collection. It does produce a lot of dust especially on the long cuts and it feels like it's not collecting it in the bag but when I took the bag off to hook the vacuum to it when I had to bring it inside the dust bag was completely fall after only installing 100sf or so. I had to keep sweeping the snow off of my saw while I was using it so that removed most of the dust I guess. It did hook up to my standard Orrick canister vac perfectly The day that the snow was too heavy and I had 3 more cuts to finish up a Room. You are supposed to be able to miter cuts at set angles also. The fence adjusts easily to do this. For my floors I was unable to accomplish that the way it was intended so I had to remove the fence altogether and wing it which is not safe. I have an odd diagonal wall in my living Room and one in my bedroom so this isn't an issue for most jobs. When I 1st took the saw out of the box it appeared Ready to use but the instructions said you had to do a few things to set it up. None of that was logical, it was infuriating and Turned out to be unnecessary. Thankfully there are a couple of really good, thorough YouTube videos about this saw. I sincerely appreciate whoever made them because I was set my witts end. It's a remarkably easy saw a to use but the instructions are poorly written. All around great product, Particularly for a company that doesn't have a good reputation

I have put a couple of vinyl plank floors down with this saw now. This this is great. The saw makes perfect cuts. It can be a little tricky to gauge exactly where the blade will cut, but it does a really good job.

Purchased this saw as I have several flooring jobs to complete in my home and paying $135 instead of renting one turned out to be the best option. This model came with a 36 tooth contractor blade. I did note some very minor, minuscule chipping on the edges of the boards, even when I cut the boards from the back side. I went out and purchase a 40 tooth blade for $10 and that made a difference. I will say that I think the 36T blade is probably good enough but I was concerned that as I cut more boards and the blade began to dull somewhat, that the chipping may have come more pronounced. Instead of risking it, I just went out and purchased a higher quality blade that lasted the entire job and gave me very clean, smooth cuts. The saw also has what I would describe as a "peep sight" (like you would see on a rifle) to line up the cutting line. It was very accurate. You just have to make sure that you line it up and ensure your board is secured firmly. The part of the saw of that is used to rip boards lengthwise is not all that easy to adjust, but once locked down, it will not move. My only peeve is that the dust collection bag that come with the saw really is pretty useless. It's so small and really doesn't catch the dust. As you can see from the photo, the saw does have a port to connect a shop vac (same port that the dust collection bag attaches to). Using the vac attached to the saw virtually eliminated the dust. The dust port accepts a standard 1 1/4 in vacuum hose. Overall, I am extremely happy with this saw. This was the first time I have put in a laminate floor. Actually it's the first "big" project of this type I have ever attempted. It made the process much faster than had I had to walk out to the garage every time I needed to cut or trim a plank. having the saw right there made the job go much, much faster. In my area it would be about $50 a day to rent something similar. As I took two days to do this job and since I have three other rooms where we will be laying laminate, it was more cost effective to buy rather than rent a saw, especially at such a reasonable price. Would highly recommend for the DIYer. There are also a video or two on Youtube of flooring contractors who have used it as well.

After reading the reviews I decided to purchase this saw and let me tell you it doesn’t disappoint. Easy to use for long cuts and short cuts. I found it easy to move around so you can keep it at arms length throughout your project. I would definitely recommend this saw

This is a must have for flooring. I've done laminate flooring s few times. Before this most of my time was spent measuring and walking outside to make a cut on my miter saw. This was a game changer. Hooked it up to a shop vac and made my cuts right there in the room. Very little dust. A little noisy, but that's mostly the shop vac. Made every cut I needed and was able to cut all my base board and quarter round with it too. Takes some time to adjust for some cuts, but still faster than walking outside. It's small and light enough to easily move and store. Having used it I would've paid even more for the time savings this provided. I will never do another floor without this and would highly recommend.
