This unit provided exactly what I needed. It will project fairly long distances (at least 65 feet). I was able to use it to layout and finish my basement. My basement is 65 feet in length and this laser definitely was able to cover the full distance when laying out the framing around the HVAC duct work which runs the full 65 feet as shown in the picture. The ease of use is great the leveling works very well. I like the automatic leveling feature or the manual mode. The reason I did not rate this five stars is because the laser is so weak that you have to use it in the dark to see it. Like not even at dusk can you see the laser you have to wait until a half an hour after sunset... Otherwise I like this product. Quite frankly I was disappointed because I was using this for building a deck and I had to wait until night time if I wanted to see the laser lines. ... show more

Awesome tool for anyone needing to get super accurate, level readings, even on broad daylight. This level comes with a sturdy stand and was easy to use right out of the box. It has "X" cross hairs so you can get accurate 90 degree measurements. Definetely recommend!

    • Excellent laser level that is simple to use

The laser level works great and is very easy to use and I highly recommend it. It worked well to line up curtains mounted near the ceiling around a 25'x15' room with the laser level in a corner and the line being easy to see on all the walls. The only thing I would like to see changed is the power switch could have a bit less resistance to toggle, currently, you really need to hold it still with one handle while turning it on and off to prevent moving it. This is a minor thing and really only applies if you are trying to turn it off and resume later without the line moving, and this is mostly just for the vertical line as the horizontal one stays pretty stable either way. The tripod is a great addition that is important to have so you can finely adjust things like the exact height of the line. The tripod itself I would put around 3/4 stars as it will be good enough for most needs but is on the shakier end as far as tripods go. For the average person though, it will be more than good enough unless you need the level line higher up, I had to set it on tabletops to get it high enough for picture frames. That said it can be easily used with any tripod mount to improve this laser level greatly, but I would consider it more of an added bonus than the core product so don't let it influence your purchase decision directly, it is better to have it than not for sure. ... show more

PROS: 1. Value in comparison to other manufacturer models. 2. Rechargeable internal lithium battery. Charge from 5 vdc phone adapter. 3. Small rugged form factor with corner bumpers. 4. Self leveling in 6 seconds is impressive. 5. Hardcopy of O&M manual is useful. 6. Easy to understand controls: Lock switch, laser PB, LED's for charge status and tilt error. CONS: 1. CANNOT BE USED OUTSIDE DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS. Laser output is loo low for visual detection, and it does not come with a receiver. Amazon's description does not disclose this limitation. 2. Observed 360 beam spread was greater than specified accuracy. 65' range capability is questionable. 3. Unless unit is placed on an immoveable surface (no tripod) and forcibly restrained downward, a leveled status is lost when the unit is switched from unlocked (after self leveling) to locked position. This severe design limitation could be eliminated with use of a remote, electrically-switched plumb lock instead of a manual slide lock. 4. Tripod is of poor quality and is susceptible to floor vibrations, drafts, PB switch and knob operations which usually trigger multiple self-leveling sequences. Electrically locking the device after initial self leveling would prevent these multiple sequences from occurring. Coarse knob threads on tripod make fine adjustments nearly impossible. 5. Vertical 150 laser light obscures the level error indicator ... show more

We used this to install picture mold on new plaster in our 1885 craftsman studio - with 11 ft ceilings. So easy! The 360 feature is a must and the price is great. It’s nice seeing being able to see the whole picture and make adjustments before you start. Accurate and repeatable.
