Description

The SKIL Self-Leveling 360-Degree Cross-Line Laser projects a bright, continuous, horizontal line around an entire room, up to 65 ft. in diameter, making it easy to hang pictures at the same precise height, install chair rail molding or a wallpaper accent, and more. In addition to the 360° continuous level line, it can project plumb cross lines to accurately guide a range of DIY projects. The laser level tool automatically levels, and features intuitive indicators that let you know when your lines aren't level. The integrated, rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery has a micro-USB port for charge- and-go convenience, plus green, yellow, and red LED indicators to let you know the current level of charge. The included adjustable tripod makes it a snap to position the laser lines exactly where you want them. And for projects where you might not want your lines to be level or plumb, like specialty paint treatments or diagonal tile work, the SKIL Self-Leveling Cross Line Laser has a locking mode that lets you position the projected lines at any angle you choose.

  • Good Tool
Style: Red 360° Cross Line Laser w/Tripod
This worked great for a wall tile job in my kitchen. It made the job go very quickly. The tripod is the only weak link here. It doesn’t always get high enough on its own.

  • Building an RV Garage
Style: Green 360° Cross Line Laser w/Tripod
I used this laser level for so many things, I have a large laser level and bigger tripod and story pole. It is just a lot of stuff to set up. The Skill laser level gave me a quick charge usb port and small and easy to use. just get within about 3 degrees of level and turn it on unlock the laser level so it self levels. You have a 4 side horizontal line and a front facing vertical line, with a touch of the button you can toggle thru the both on, one or the other on. so easy to use. I know you can't see behind the drywall, but if you could you would see all of the electrical all 2000 ft that I pulled laid out nice and strait, I used the horizontal lines to lay out my drill holes thru the studs, and it you take a close look you will see that all of my wall plugs are perfectly level and in line. I did not have to bring out the tape measure, I did not have to go around a mark every stud for the exact height, it was just a huge time saver and made this installation so easy and quick just set a line and go around and drill electrical holes are set electrical boxes, it does not mater it was just quick, easy to use and inexpensive, I did purchase the green laser as I believe in the daylight is is easier to see. I had a lot of outside daylight washing in on the walls, I have a 14ft. tall and 18ft. wide garage door opening, so it let in a lot of light. I was still able to use the laser in about 15 to 20 feet, now that is with a lot of sunlight washing in on the walls. When the sun moved over to the west and it was shaded in the garage I could see the lines almost everywhere without issue. This is not a high end unit, but I certainly would by this again. Great value, easy to use, if you drop it and you break it you are not out 5 or 6 hundred dollars like my outdoor grading level. This is just a handy useful carpenters indoor level. I highly recommend this unit from my personal experience. ... show more

  • Not usable outdoors in daylight
Style: Green 360° Cross Line Laser w/Tripod
There weren't any issues with this laser leveler, nor did it excel in any way. I gave it three stars because I can't think of a reason why something that simply does what it is supposed to do should receive more than three stars. I paid more for the version with the green laser because I thought it might be bright enough for outdoor use. In daylight, the visibility of the laser was good at 5 feet, but just barely visible at 15 feet. I needed it for some outside work, so I ended up using it at dusk, not quite fully dark, but close to fully dark. Unless you are willing to do likewise, it is strictly for indoor use. To be fair, no one claimed that it would usable outdoors; I was just hoping that it would be. Knowing what I now know, I would probably save a few dollars and buy the red one. The 360-degree deal is a gimmick that actually is a disadvantage. As long as you have a tripod or a surface where you can be confident that the height of the laser will not change significantly as you rotate it by hand, there isn't any real advantage to having the laser rotate 360 degrees. In fact, this is one of the reasons why it isn't especially bright. The vertical line is significantly brighter than the horizontal line. If the light were a regular light you would naturally expect it to be dimmer if the light is spread over 360 degrees rather than focused into a more narrow angle. It's kind of hard to visualize how the same would apply to a scanning laser, but it is true. If you think about using it inside a room and imagine that the laser is scanned in a way that lights up the walls and the ceiling all over, and you consider that the total amount of light energy will be the same whether the laser scans this way or stays aimed at one particular spot, it is obvious that spreading the light all around makes it dimmer. And since the brightness of the laser is one of the primary attributes that matter, it follows that for virtually all work that most people are likely to do, the other type that does not have the 360 degree scanning is more desirable. This hadn't occurred to me before I made the purchase. If it had occurred to me, I would have selected one of the less expensive ones where the horizontal line scans back and forth within a limited range, the same as the vertical line. If I had it to do over, I would have bought one of the least expensive models from a trusted brand, i.e., an affordable model with a red laser and without the 360 degree scanning. ... show more

  • Awesome tool!
Style: Green 360° Cross Line Laser w/Tripod
So much better than string and line level. I used this for building a large deck. The laser did not seem to be able to go much more than 20 or so feet in the daylight, but using some sort of white material will help you spot where the laser lines are. It does not show that well in the sun on wood posts. Super accurate though. I checked it several times with an 8 foot level between my posts. Spot on. ... show more
