Went skiing and used this on my 4 year old son. It was his first time skiing. I have 2 older kids who are more seasoned skiers and didn’t want to stay on the bunny slopes the whole time. This backpack was perfect! He skied while a skied behind him using the leash. We were able to go on the regular ski lifts and runs without me worrying he wouldn’t be able to stop quickly if needed. It was easy to use, functioned as expected, value for money was great, even had a little storage for his scarf and gloves. I am SO glad I purchased! It made our trip so memorable and exciting!

Full disclosure for my review: I did not buy this for use with a child. I bought for the retractable leash portion only to use with my dogs, but I found an alternative use that has come in very handy. First, the retractable leash portion: The lead is an excellent length (16 feet) and despite being relative narrow, is very strong. I use it with an adult male Great Dane and I have no issues at all with that large of a dog being too much for the leash. The handle is ergonomic and comfortable in my hand and the retract action is also strong. Second, the harness will absolutely attache to my dog and hold securely. I feel better doing that so that I am not pulling on his collar around his neck. It provides more secure control over leading him. The quality of this to the price is excellent.

One star is even too good for this product. Don’t buy! It’s very dangerous and terrifying!!! A critical part - the connector - that ensure safety is broken at first time we put it in - even before we use it!! Very terrifying about the poor quality!

Love everything about this as I was able to train my toddler.Snowboarding using this product. the grab handle came in very handy to be able to help pick up child from the ground without bending over as much. the stretchable bungee cord style straps do help with giving a little bit of soft impact while trying to Retract child or keep child from going too fast. It helps with just a quick snapstop. this helped me feel like I was keeping my child safe from either going too fast or completely going the wrong way, or losing them on the mountain. very appropriate sized bag for toddlers, as well as young children. adjustable straps made to fit perfect. the retractable leash is very lightweight and fits perfectly back in the bag when you are not using it. the bag was perfect for a small snack for the child.As well. love that you can clip your leashes on in different spots, depending on what you're doing. very happy to have this as a training tool.

This is a really great idea to help train a child how to ski or snowboard. It has a retractable leash and absorbing bungees to help teach your child how to control their speed while keeping them at a safe distance at the same time. I didn’t even know a product like this existed. It made me more at ease as we brought our four year old daughter on the slopes for the first time.
