Second pair bought for hiking after 1st pair doing rugged ranch and farm work with greater than expected comfort and durability. They've been mistreated for almost 2 years in all kinds of weather and haven't let me down. No steel toe but not needed for clearing brush, dirt work and tractor work.

    • Fantasic Hiking Boot for a wide foot and need for roomy toe-box
I have a difficult to fit foot and need for wide toe-box area. These boots in 10.5 W fit me perfectly when no other has. They are light-weight yet extremely comfortable. I have worn them on all day-treks through trails in Iceland (in Summer), and elsewhere and taken then in rain , waded across rivers in them and found them to be 100% waterproof as advertised., keeping my wool socks completely dry. Tread and sole are very rigid giving a strong sense of stability and security when moving in difficult places or terrain. I have had a few boots and tried many much more expensive boots. I got these 2nd hand through Amazon Warehouse for a steal, and they are by far the best boots I have every owned. They are not too hot, they breathe, but they are not insulated, so not free extremely cold climates. I would not venture to think they would be good for that. But for everything I would do that is semi-hard core, they are awesome. After weeks of daily pounding, mud, water rain, snow, ice, rocks and trail, they hardly look the worse for the wear. I did get the Skechers water protector spray for an extra level/barrior of protectant since I was in the rain and water daily with these things. ... show more

These hikers are quality made, and fit well. They take some breaking in, and I'm still in that process. I only gave four stars because of narrowness of the tongue. I have a high instep, and the tongue could be a little wider to be a bit more comfortable. Otherwise...no issues with Sketchers so far.

I bought a pair of skecher hiking boots. Well I received them and I was so excited. But the were to small . I would like to return them but I paid 64 dollars and now the price is almost a 100. I don't get it when you but something and you want to return it it should be the same price as the original. ... show more

They work great and look good. However, very stiff and I don't think they will ever loosen up and conform due to the material. Just my opinion - I've worn them only about 20 hours total at this point.

My husband believes in one primary pair of footwear at a time and wears his boots until his feet come out the soles, but I'd say his old various boots were also just as hard on his feet. He'd often get blisters and peeling, perhaps because he prefers waterproof boots (while that feature works) and that doesn't always allow for breathability... or perhaps they were all too tight. Anyways, I've always been a fan of Skechers myself for their wider style and I was hopeful Skechers could also resolve the waterproof footwear vs sweaty feet issue somewhat. So far, so good. He's worn these on some hot days and long walks, indeed, and I haven't noticed the same sweaty or beat up feet of old yet. ... show more
