  • Fantasic Hiking Boot for a wide foot and need for roomy toe-box
Size: 10.5 X-Wide Color: Brown
I have a difficult to fit foot and need for wide toe-box area. These boots in 10.5 W fit me perfectly when no other has. They are light-weight yet extremely comfortable. I have worn them on all day-treks through trails in Iceland (in Summer), and elsewhere and taken then in rain , waded across rivers in them and found them to be 100% waterproof as advertised., keeping my wool socks completely dry. Tread and sole are very rigid giving a strong sense of stability and security when moving in difficult places or terrain. I have had a few boots and tried many much more expensive boots. I got these 2nd hand through Amazon Warehouse for a steal, and they are by far the best boots I have every owned. They are not too hot, they breathe, but they are not insulated, so not free extremely cold climates. I would not venture to think they would be good for that. But for everything I would do that is semi-hard core, they are awesome. After weeks of daily pounding, mud, water rain, snow, ice, rocks and trail, they hardly look the worse for the wear. I did get the Skechers water protector spray for an extra level/barrior of protectant since I was in the rain and water daily with these things. ... show more

  • Warm, comfy and lightweight at a nice price
Size: 11.5 Color: Brown
Looked at lots of boots online before deciding to buy these and I'm very happy with them so far. Great for winter hiking. Not as much insulation as some of the more hardcore winter boots, but I wanted something that would be good for more than just cold snowy winter days. Also a great deal at just over $60. A lot of the other boots I checked out were in the 100-130 range. I've had them for a couple weeks now and they've done great walking the dog, going on hikes in the snow, and shoveling the driveway. I'm surprised at how warm they are. I was out shoveling the driveway with temps in the teens for about an hour and my feet didn't get cold. Not sure how they would do for standing still, but for hiking, outdoor chores etc they have kept my feet warm with just regular socks when I'm moving around. I haven't really tested how waterproof they are. The stay dry inside when the snow melts on the outside but I haven't walked through any water to really test the limits of the waterproof lining. Fit: I wear an 11 in Adidas for reference. The 11s I got were a little bit short. My toes were not right up against the end but pretty close so I went with 11.5. With 11.5 the length was great, enough room so I could wear some thick socks if needed. Maybe a hair wide, but I have narrow feet. About my only criticism is there's not much of an arch. However with the memory foam insoles and break-in process, the bottom is starting to form to the contour of my feet. Will see about reliability. I only use them for walking the dog, outdoor chores and hiking. What I'd consider moderate to light use, and they will most likely be stored away for the warmer months. Hoping I can get a couple years out of them, we shall see.... ... show more

  • Great value
Size: 13 X-Wide Color: Brown
Works good, looks good, feels good. A couple caveats: there is no insole so they aren't padded really inside. But there is plenty of room for your choice of insole, which is great for me bc I need arch supports and normal boots with built in insoles don't have enough room for em. Also the mid top design is a good all around compromise between lots of ankle support and none at all, but if you do alot of steep hills, the tops will start to dig into your leg above the ankles. Seem plenty durable. ... show more

  • Seems as good as the Keen Targhee boot for 1/3 the price.
I have been wearing Keen hiking boots sort of like this for a while, but the thing about Keens is, after they become a certain age, they start actively hurting your feet. I needed a new pair after having worn mine for over 5 years, and I decided that I should dang sure be able to find a good pair of outside shoes for less than $160. These looked nice, and were 1/3 the price of the Keens, so I took a shot. I have a long history of loving Skechers. I have flat feet that are a "D" width in cowboy boots, so shoes like Merrill don't fit me worth a dam. Skechers and Keens are both made for my type of feet. The fact that these are also "Amazon's Choice"... well that doesn't mean a darn thing. The "Amazon's Choice" program is a good idea that is so poorly executed, as to be worthless. I got them today and as I expected they didn't feel as good as the Keens do when you first put them on, but I have been wearing them now for about two hours and they have already broken in to feel like they are made for my feet. Keens are like that from the git-go, but I'll certainly take a two-hour break-in period as being functionally equivalent. I am a computer hacker so I spend most of my regular working days sitting down, but we are remodeling our house and some days I spend all day on my feet. I haven't done that with these yet, but I expect them to be more comfortable than my old worn-out Keens. If that doesn't turn out to be true, I'll update my review. Update: I went to a friend's house yesterday afternoon and helped him tear out his kitchen. I was on my feet about seven hours in a construction area and didn't even notice my feet. These are very comfortable boots. I was also schlepping debris out through his snow-covered front yard and my feet didn't get cold or wet. ... show more

  • Great work boots ( COMFORTABLE)
Size: 13 Color: Brown
I am a painter that works mostly new construction and do a lot of spraying and the paint usely drys my boots out and they crack and get tore up in just a couple of months but these Skechers have lasted me for no almost 1 year so I just bought a second pair on Amazon the first pair I got from Shoe Carnival and paid $100 this pair I got on Amazon I only paid $65 so to me it was a no brainer I also am always cleaning out paint tools and my feet get wet but not with these they are waterproof I love these boots I even got my girlfriend the women's version of them and she loves them also and not to mention but they are sooooo comfortable. If you need a quality pair of boots that doesn't break the bank give them a try. I will continue to buy these for work and home. Also they do sell them in different colors so I highly recommend these boots ... show more
