  • Mesh band problem
Color: Gold/Silver
First let me say that I have loved the watch. It is comfortable, I can easily see the time with a clear crystal and the small "diamonds" at each number help me to track time even without my glasses! The adjustment for the band is easy and the catch works ingeniously. However, a small piece of the metal mesh watch band has broken and a sharp metal piece from the band now catches on everything, so I can't wear the watch. We bought it in Feb and it is now early Sept, so just over six months. I checked the SKAGEN website, and the warranty doesn't cover the watch bands. This metal band is screwed in and is not easily replaceable like other watches, so it looks like we will have to pay over $50 for a new band plus shipping and handling - making repairs almost as costly as a new watch. So, we're in a conundrum - replace with an expensive mesh band which has no warranty and has already proven to be unreliable or just buy a new watch. For something as unique as this mesh band, it seems like it should be sturdy and covered by the warranty. ... show more

  • Don't buy a watch from Amazon.
Color: Gold/Silver
The second Skagen watch I ordered from Amazon. The first one had a dead battery, so I returned it. After a couple months, this one wasn't keeping time properly, which must have been again, a battery issue. Additionally, the stem fell off, rendering it useless. Because it was beyond the time limit for returning, I was out of luck. A $65 watch that lasted two months and no way to return. I will never buy a watch from Amazon again. They need to revisit their return policy. ... show more

  • Gorgeous watch, but the latch is suspect
Color: Gunmetal/Gray Mesh
I have a history of watches falling apart or just flat dying on me, so I bought this one because it's a Skagen and because of the metal band. I also simply love how this watch looks -- it's classy, not over-stated, and works with casual or dress clothes. I'm a big fan of the analog watch face, too. I absolutely love this watch, but it has one issue that is the reason I'm writing a review. The latch mechanism continually becomes dislodged or completely detached from the band entirely, and there have been several times where I caught the watch just as it was falling off. There are 2 issues with the latch: (1.) the tab that secures the entire latch to the band seems to dislodge, causing the latch to slide down the band, and (2.) the outer part of the latch mechanism, that is supposed to snap down on the latch and further secure it, simply has stopped snapping tightly. All of this results in my having to pay attention to when the watch seems too loose. I then have to re-seat the latch mechanism on the band to secure it again. It's not a total deal-breaker (I really do love this watch), but I am glad I invested in the additional protection plan. I have a feeling that, at some point, the watch will just come off my wrist entirely. ... show more

  • Sleek Skagen Design and Easy to Read
Color: Black Leather
I love this watch more than I thought I would. I had doubts based on some of the reviews but it's totally worth it. I love the way it looks; sleek, dainty and classic. The face is on the smaller side. Since I wear reading glasses I was worried that I'd have trouble seeing it but I can read this face easier than my larger Skagen watch. The reasons are that the face is silver but it's not "mirror" silver, the crystal number dots and lack of second hand make it easy to glance at quickly and read easily. There's no reason to struggle to look at a watch. The band is quite long, I think. My wrist is small but not tiny. I have it in the 3rd hole and there is plenty of band left over. I get what others have said about it "wrinkling" but what leather band doesn't? The timepiece itself keeps excellent time. I would recommend this watch to anyone looking for a beautiful, reliable watch. ... show more

  • Absolutely Beautiful!
Color: Two-Tone/Silver Mesh
I love Skagen watches. I have three that I have worn over the past 20 years and all of them still work well. These are quality watches. The watches that are 20 years old look like they did when I first bought them. This purchase is absolutely beautiful! The picture does not do justice by this watch. I like the smaller face on this watch. It is elegant, petite, and very attractive...truly a woman's watch. The face is easy to read. The two-tone mesh band is beautiful. The clasp is very easy to adjust for size. I just took the point of a fingernail file and popped up the adjustment plate, made the adjustment and pressed the plate back down...couldn't have been easier. The watch is lightweight and very comfortable to wear. You won't be disappointed with this watch. ... show more

  • Like so much I bought it again after losing the first one!
Color: Black Leather
This is actually the second time I bough this watch - I liked it so much, that I bought it again after I accidentally lost the first one! The watch is gorgeous, and I really like that it doesn't look silly or bulky on my small wrists, as a lot of other watches do. I have received numerous unsolicited compliments on this watch. I have had no problems with the watch keeping time, falling apart, or being difficult to set. I do not find the watch face to be too small, and I have no problem quickly glancing at the watch to see the time. (For reference, I wear neither distance nor reading glasses.) Overall, I would recommend this watch to anyone, specifically women with small wrists, who are looking for something very pleasant to wear at a decent price. ... show more

  • Very stylish watch, mesh band a problem
Color: Gold/Silver
I absolutely love the style of the watch and have had numerous compliments on it. The watch has a clean cut look and is easy enough to read the time. After initially struggling to fix the clasp in the right place out of the box, I persevered and it was ok. I will say though that the clasp comes undone more easily than I would like. However the main problem is a piece of the metal mesh band is now poking out, no idea how that happened, and despite my best efforts, I cannot get it to lie flat so it doesn't snag on clothing that I wear. The band is not covered by Skaagen's warranty and I am not sure how it can be replaced. ... show more
