Help us help the planet and check to see if your local recycling center can handle paper that has already been recycled to ensure it's accepted. Every day is a design-forward day with our Skagen straps, available in various sizes and materials, including signature mesh, refined and responsible leather*, and striking stainless steel. We have a range of colors to make each moment yours, from elevated to easygoing to everything in between. • I THINK THE WATCH IS GREAT BUT BE CAREFUL WITH BATTERY REPLACEMENT.
Color: Black Mesh
Style is a matter of personal opinion but in my opinion this is a nice looking watch. The brown version is also stylish if brown is your preference. I was cursed with thin bones and a small wrist. This watch is exceptionally thin and does not look either conspicuous or out of place when I wear it. But people notice it and favorably comment on its appearance. This is the second of this specific Skagen SKW6006 watch that I have owned. After a couple years the battery failed in my initial watch. I took it to Walmart to have the battery replaced and that proved to be a significant judgment error. Walmart scratched up the back of the watch, may or may not have installed the correct battery, apparently messed up the actual watch mechanism with the battery installation since it quit working soon after, and may well have made the watch either unrepairable or uneconomically repairable. Walmart had succesfully replaced batteries in other watches that I have owned so I don't know the exact point in the chain of battery replacement events that damaged my Skagen watch. Regardless because even though I am certain that Walmart damaged my watch there is no point in challenging them since it was working when I left the store. The next morning the second hand would unsuccesfully try to advance and the watch no longer worked. I purchased from Amazon a second identical model watch at a much lower price than my first Skagen watch because I really like this model watch. I do not know if it has a valid Skagen warranty but I do know that having Walmart work on my watch invalidated the once valid first watch warranty. This was the last of two watches offered for sale by Amazon LLC at the time that it was ordered so my ordering situation may have passed when this review is read. The new watch was shipped horribly packed but it amazingly was not damaged and has been working fine for a week--not a real test. My old Skagen watch worked perfectly for several years until the battery died. Nice features--day and date. It was always accurate. The luminosity of the hands is underwhelming but I really don't care. I have read complaints about the crystal cracking. The crystal on my first watch never cracked but it does have a very minor scuff. If the watch is not properly latched it will be lost and gone forever and care is always required when putting on the watch and operating the latch. It really is an unsecure design waiting for human error. ALWAYS take the time to assure that it is correctly latched! I found the band to be comfortable. If you learn from my experience send the watch either to Skagen's authorized repair center (reported to be very reputable) or to some other reputable servicer to have the battery replaced. I have read that done correctly the gasket should be replaced if the back cover is removed. Battery replacement prices vary but considering that Walmart charged me about $7 to ruin my watch the additional expense is probably justified if you like the watch. I will probably explore if my first Skagen watch can be economically repaired but as of now I have a new watch that works perfectly. ... show more

  • The best time piece for keeping time, handsome, rugged, and sharp looking!!
Color: Black Mesh
I've had 3 Skagen watches over the last 20 years, and I wear them every day, so thin and light weight, you don't know your wearing one!!

  • Good points far out-weigh the bad.
Color: Black Mesh
This is my second Skagen. Replaced a 233LTMN, which still runs well and looks good. Good points for the Melbye: 1] Thin. Fits well w/ dress shirts, suits, & jackets. 2] Comfortable. 3] The clasp (it's easy- I like it). 4] Day, date, & second hand (one reason I upgraded). 5] Luminous (second reason I upgraded). 6] Larger face is easier to read than the 233, the white on black is very legible, and the crystal does not reflect light like the 233 (the main reason I upgraded). Bad points: 1] adjusting the clasp until you learn the easy way to do it (claw-type staple puller). Instructions w/ watch were not so good. 2] it took me a while to discover the secret code to adjusting the multi-language day/date setting. Now I've learned it and it's simple. Again, instructions w/ watch missed here. 3] the luminous hands and hours are weak. All luminous watches require exposure to light before they show up in the dark. I've owned many such watches. The best luminous for me was a cheap Timex, circa early 70s. Other good ones: Seiko & Citizen. This is the worst I've owned. Maybe it's just my eyes. No matter- I like the watch so much I'll make it work. This is not a deal breaker. Definitely worth the price compared to other brands. ... show more

  • Stylish, thin and comfortable
Color: Black Mesh
I purchased this for my husband for Christmas. He absolutely loves it. After listening him to complain about how heavy his watches were, and that the stem dug into him between the wrist and the hand, I looked for something different. This watch is extremely slim, and the stem is small so it doesn't dig into him. He has told me several times how happy he is with this watch and how comfortable it is to wear. I purchased him the all black model and it is a very attractive watch on my husband. ... show more

  • Crystal is very fragile
Color: Black Mesh
I really like the design of this Skagen watch. Unlike the huge and bulky watches that are so popular today, it's thin and very light. However, it has a horrible flaw with its design because the crystal cracks easily. I bought this watch and within about a year the crystal cracked. I had it replaced for $45 and within a month the crystal cracked again. The same thing happened with a previous Skagen watch I had a few years ago--the crystal cracked twice within a few months. I haven't been rough on the watches and I've handled them like any other watch I've owned. The guy who repaired my watch cautioned that the crystals on these watches are very poor. I love Skagen watches but until the design is fixed I'll have to buy a different brand. ... show more

  • Looks fantastic but glass breaks easy.
Color: Black Mesh
I love the look of the watch. The crystal broke after only a couple of weeks. Two other Skagan watches that I owned also had broken crystals with only slight bumps from everyday use. My friend Matt from Steve's Expert Watch Repair in Lake Worth Florida. told me that the dommed crystal is a problem. He replaced my last Skagen glass with a flat crystal. That one held up for years of daily use. ... show more

  • Awesome watch!
Color: Black Mesh
I love mine. I wasn't a "watch guy". I got a job that I needed to know the time consistently and I always relied on my phone to do that before... But using our cell phones while working was prohibited. So I bought this watch because of its clean and slim build. It is thin, holds tight to the wrist and the band is awesome. Tightly woven metal of some sort that is extremely tough and doesn't catch on anything. The only thing I wish was that the watch had some growing hands and numbers. Even faintly visible ones would help in the dark. Besides that I absolutely love it and even sleep with it on and don't even realize it's on my wrist. Clean, simple and tough is all I really need in a watch! ... show more

  • Beautiful & light although glass is fragile
Color: Black Mesh
Pros: My favorite watch of all time. Black, light, sleek, has both date and day and has all three hands. The material doesn’t smell also when you sweat (but don’t wear it when you shower to make sure it smells great always). Cons: Glass is fragile and the hands don’t glow strongly in the dark (you won’t be able to see the time when you wake up at 4 am!) Conclusion: So why do I keep buying this watch? It is great value for money. I just wish the glass was stronger. ... show more
