This portable, affordable and adorable crafting system designed for detailed (plastic backed or wafer-thin) dies and embossing folders up to 2.5 inches wide, including Sizzix 12 inch Decorative Strip dies. The Sidekick will cut a single sheet of lightweight to cardstock paper. Aqua cutting pads and embossing pad makes all Sizzix thin dies and embossing folders up to 2.5 inches compatible and works with other brands' dies.This small roller machine weighs 2 pounds, stands 4.75 inches tall and features a three-year limited warranty. This package contains one Sidekick machine, six Framelits dies, two Thinlits dies, two small Textured Impressions embossing folders and seven stamps. WARNING: Choking Hazard, small parts. Imported.

It is SMALL! But, that is what you want. It fits most word dies and butterfly, dragonfly and stuff like that. It is only 2.5 inches wide, so small dies fit fine. I love it because of its size. Some people said it was too small, but if you know what to expect you won't be surprised by that. It is so portable and nice to bring with to card making parties! I would highly recommend this item. I did try a different one first and it would not cut. This one has no problem cutting any of my dies I have tried in it. It will leave marks on the plates, but that is normal. I opened the box the minute it arrived so I could try this out. The Sidekick is so easy to operate that I was using it within minutes! This kit is such a great way to start since it includes not only the machine but also a set of 8 dies, two embossing folders, and set of 7 stamps. With this one purchase, I have what I need to get started making cards! Note that this is a SMALL machine meant for small projects (perfect for greeting cards). If you are looking for something to cut or emboss for larger projects, you'll need a larger machine. Be sure to read the product description and size specs. Exactly what I wanted and didn't realize how broken and need of replacement mine was until I got this one. It cuts on the first pass. For those unfamiliar with die cutting it can be tricky. I like this size because i can store it easily and it limits how much I can buy because it is small. It is mighty though. I did find it took a while for the company to send it and they don't communicate with Amazon. So if you want it right away not the thing to get. ... show more

I like the simplicity of this machine it’s not difficult to use the cuts are clean but the only thing I see wrong it is it doesn’t cut leather with glitter on it very well this is what I was talking about having to make several passes other then that it works great worth the money and good for a beginner ... show more

This is fantastic for using smaller dies, and it cuts perfectly with little to no effort. The bottom suction cup holds tight to the table. They sent a surprise package of small seasonal dies that are really cute. Since it's close to Halloween and Thanksgiving, I'll be sure to use them. Positives:I already have a Big Shot and Vagabond, and was unsure if I would find this useful but price was so great I decided to buy one. Boy was I glad I did. I can cut small dies or emboss them easily while sitting at coffee table or work surface; and I can take it with me on trips. Just so easy to use. I have not had a suction problem; but surfaces I use are smooth. Comes with some dies, cutting plates, and embossing folders - perfect to get started. Con: Cutting width is small so make sure dies you use will fit through opening; however it is not much of a con as many dies will fit. If you buy the longer cutting plate you can run many dies (esp. sentiments) through at one time. I already bought extra cutting plates and certainly would purchase again! ... show more

After reading reviews for similar machines here and on HSN that talked about the handles being hard to crank or the machines falling apart, I was glad to read all the good reviews for this model, and see it at a good price. My 12 year old was able to figure it out right out of the box. I made her wait to use it until I could make sure she was doing it right, but that wasn't necessary. It's really straightforward. The biggest drawback, as others have mentioned, is that you have to crank IN REVERSE of what you would think, when turning the handle. Other than that, easy peasy. I purchased the extra long plates as an accessory (the short plates it comes with are very short), and I cut a strip off one of my old Gemini Junior rubber embossing mats for her to use for embossing. I think any thicker mats might be too thick for the plate sandwich. She has used it quite a few times so far, and there has been no issues. I think this is a fantastic first machine for any young girl looking to get into die cutting. It's also good for anyone wanting to do quick small dies, without dragging out your big machine. ... show more
