This portable, affordable and adorable crafting system designed for detailed (plastic backed or wafer-thin) dies and embossing folders up to 2.5 inches wide, including Sizzix 12 inch Decorative Strip dies. The Sidekick will cut a single sheet of lightweight to cardstock paper. Aqua cutting pads and embossing pad makes all Sizzix thin dies and embossing folders up to 2.5 inches compatible and works with other brands' dies.This small roller machine weighs 2 pounds, stands 4.75 inches tall and features a three-year limited warranty. This package contains one Sidekick machine, six Framelits dies, two Thinlits dies, two small Textured Impressions embossing folders and seven stamps. WARNING: Choking Hazard, small parts. Imported.

I bought this because it's easier to carry around (I craft all over the house) and because it's smaller than my old cuttlebug. It works great and is easy to use. The only downside is that they don't make a magnetic mat which I feel makes everything SO much easier and also that it doesn't want to stay suctioned to the table. It will be used one time or two and then it needs to be suctioned down again. I craft on portable tables and/or my craft desk and maybe they're just not the right type of material to place it on - I just wish it would stay put. I will keep using it but I do wish they had a magnetic mat for the die cuts. ... show more

I opened the box the minute it arrived so I could try this out. The Sidekick is so easy to operate that I was using it within minutes! This kit is such a great way to start since it includes not only the machine but also a set of 8 dies, two embossing folders, and set of 7 stamps. With this one purchase, I have what I need to get started making cards! Note that this is a SMALL machine meant for small projects (perfect for greeting cards). If you are looking for something to cut or emboss for larger projects, you'll need a larger machine. Be sure to read the product description and size specs. Haven’t quite figured out the trick to this one yet. I have the bigger regular sized one and it’s still hanging on years later. But I grabbed this because I got tired of carrying it around my craft space when I just needed a sentiment cut. The issue is that the plates seem to be a smidge too big for Neenah 110lb *sometimes*. Like, the placement of the die is everything, otherwise it just won’t roll through. So, it can be finicky, but it’s helpful when you’re doing batches card sentiments. ... show more

I regret buying this sidekick (orange in color), this was to replacement for the white and teal sidekick had been using for the previous 3 years worked fine until I added a shim and it got stuck and the handle broked off. This sidekick (orange in color), has had problems from its first use and I have only had it for a few days. It has to be straight on when the plates are inserted, however when the plates are inserted it shifts itself to the left causing a jam and it will not cut through.
