I bought this (rectangular bowl) exclusively for instant ramen, and I mean no frills bricks and water then pop it in the microwave instant ramen. And for this purpose, it is the most perfect microwave instant ramen container I have ever owned. You might think the 'noodle' bowl would be more suited for ramen - you'd be wrong. I got that one, too, and it is fantastic for soup but a ramen brick will not fit unless you break it into chunks and by then you've missed the point of instant ramen, which is the ratio of calories to effort expended. The rectangular bowl will, just barely 90% of the time, fit two standard ramen bricks inside. Fill it with water until the water just barely crests the top of the bricks, secure the lid, MAKE SURE THE VENT IS OPEN, put in your microwave and (for me) microwave for 6 minutes. Let it sit for as long as you prefer your ramen to soak and then it's ready for the flavor packets, but the cooking part is done. And that's it. Two bricks with a little effort maybe, water, lid, microwave and you're done. I would prefer if it were just a few cm longer so I didn't have to force the bricks in sometimes but aside from that it has worked for me every time. I've reordered it because I foolishly left my old one behind after a move, it's held up and is very easy to clean. If you just want no frills instant ramen two bricks at a time, the rectangular bowl is all you'll ever need. ... show more

I have several of these Sistema microwave bowls in several sizes. They work great, as they slowly vent the steam, making for a nice result. They go through the dishwasher on top shelf like champs. I have them in the RV and at home...I now drop all sorts of things and these bowls could care less, unlike the Corell dishware. These are great for taking things for lunch to microwave as they hold a lot. I steam broccoli and other things in the large one and it works perfectly!!! These are really good quality. Only reason 4 stars is often the lids don’t quite line up correctly so it can be a bit of a hassle as you don’t know til you snap about half of the snaps on the lid. A very good, much-used product. I do a lot of vegetable cooking, frozen and fresh. This is easy to use, and holds up well. The only thing I'd ask the company to change, possibly, would be the little close/open piece for steam. It's great in use, but it needs to be removed (easy enough) when it comes out of the dishwasher, because I don't like to put things away with water drops inside. Might not bother someone else. I like these containers in general for microwaving food and especially the steam vent in the lids. The drawback is that the lids do not seal tightly and, therefore, these containers are not leakproof. I brought these primarily to bring leftovers to work that need to be microwaved. When I place any kind of food in them that may have juice, sauce or gravy, however, I have to put the containers inside a plastic storage bag that seals and be sure that they are placed flat in my lunch tote, otherwise the liquids will leak out. I’m disappointed. I used to have microwaveable Tupperware containers that came with a sealed lid for storage and then another loose lid for microwaving. The loose lid was thin with a small lip to fit inside of the container, so it didn’t take up a lot of room. I had to get rid of them because they were so old, they started to pit and stain. Sadly, I can’t find anything like that anymore, not even from Tupperware. ... show more
