This is a product you never want to use, but if the need to have one you want it on hand. It looks well made and will be mounting them in each of my vehicles. Best thing to happen is that I don't have to use it, but if I do, it sure looks like it would do a great job. The mallet fits well in the holder and is not sloppy in its fit. Contact points look well made and the seatbelt cutter is sharp and will do a great job. Exactly what I needed, the color is helpful because they’re hard to miss wherever you store them in the car. I never knew this type of tool existed. Sadly, it took a headline story of a missing teenage girl and the recovery of her car/remains in a lake for me to first hear about the car safety hammer. As soon as I learned of its existence, I immediately placed my order. This is a set of 2 car safety hammers; an escape tool should you ever find yourself stuck in a car submerged in water. This tool can be used not only to break glass windows but also to cut seatbelts. Its crafted from high-grade carbon steel to ensure the glass will break as well as a razor sharp blade to cut through seatbelt material. Its colored bright orange so it can easily be spotted in an emergency situation. I've already placed these in our cars. I'm not being overly dramatic when I say one of these tools belongs in everyone's car. The price is just a few dollars and worth every penny. These tools seem okay, but they could have come with some instructions/helpful hints. It’s pretty clear how you’d cut a seatbelt, and it’s obvious that you’d hit the glass with the hammer, but it might have been helpful to advise on the best place to hit, etc. I’m also not sure where I’m going to keep these. There is a mounting bracket, but I’m reluctant to start drilling holes in my car. The bracket is curved on the back, so you’d have to find just the right spot in your car if you’re using double sided tape/Velcro so it would stick. It fits well in my hand, and although it is lightweight there is a good weight on the hammer end. Obviously I’m not going to smash my window to see if it works, but it does give me a little piece of mind to have these in my car. One thing I’ve seen mentioned before but bears repeating: these only work on tempered glass! Some cars (and not just newer ones) have laminated glass on the side windows, and this tool will not work on that type of glass. I googled which models of cars have laminated glass in the side windows before I bought these tools. There are other ways to tell, but that’s what I did. Just make sure to find out! ... show more
