This safety hammer is sturdy and the fluorescent orange color makes it easy to spot. The seat belt cater is a bonus. My daughter was recently entrapped in her car after an accident, unable to kick out her windshield. I got one for each family member.

This is a product you never want to use, but if the need to have one you want it on hand. It looks well made and will be mounting them in each of my vehicles. Best thing to happen is that I don't have to use it, but if I do, it sure looks like it would do a great job. The mallet fits well in the holder and is not sloppy in its fit. Contact points look well made and the seatbelt cutter is sharp and will do a great job. Bigger than expected, might velcro under drivers seat. Bought a 4 pack so while family can have one. Like everyone else, I hope I never have to use it.

These tools seem okay, but they could have come with some instructions/helpful hints. It’s pretty clear how you’d cut a seatbelt, and it’s obvious that you’d hit the glass with the hammer, but it might have been helpful to advise on the best place to hit, etc. I’m also not sure where I’m going to keep these. There is a mounting bracket, but I’m reluctant to start drilling holes in my car. The bracket is curved on the back, so you’d have to find just the right spot in your car if you’re using double sided tape/Velcro so it would stick. It fits well in my hand, and although it is lightweight there is a good weight on the hammer end. Obviously I’m not going to smash my window to see if it works, but it does give me a little piece of mind to have these in my car. One thing I’ve seen mentioned before but bears repeating: these only work on tempered glass! Some cars (and not just newer ones) have laminated glass on the side windows, and this tool will not work on that type of glass. I googled which models of cars have laminated glass in the side windows before I bought these tools. There are other ways to tell, but that’s what I did. Just make sure to find out! ... show more
