My husband is somewhat of an expert on putting things together so, whatever was a little bit of a problem he was able to overcome. That being said, for the price in today’s market, it’s a pretty good piece of furniture. We were replacing a very large TV cabinet. It had drawers, so we needed something to replace it that would give us some storage. The dimensions of this piece worked perfectly for us. We put the television on top of the cabinet and have the storage in the bottom. I know it’s not a TV stand but, it works for our needs. We purchased a new bedroom set and our other cabinet would have been too big. Unless you’re shopping at some high end store where furniture costs you a pretty penny, for the price, this cabinet is quite sturdy and functional. ... show more

This is a very nice piece of furniture and if you keep a watch on it for awhile you'll see that the price fluctuates and it can do so wildly. I know right now it's running almost $50 less than we paid, so if you're interested and can stand to wait for a period you may do yourself a favor to wait and watch. That aside... This is a nice dresser/armoire style piece that is quite a sturdy item once put together. I was hesitant to purchase something like this having had bad experiences in the past with another companies products where even once properly assembled the piece had been so wobbly that it naturally stood lopsided. This companies (Simpli) products are nothing like that at all. I have to say that I was impressed from the first piece through the last we bought. In fact the quality of and the ease of assembly of the first one we bought is what led us to purchase their other products. This arrived packaged very well, as do all their products. We own 3 of their book cases, a deacons bench and a living room console and they too all arrived well packaged against damage in transit. The instructions are also laid out well and easy to follow and while they can easily be handled by one person, having an assistant will speed things along. One thing to note is, TAKE YOUR TIME and read through the instructions first and then methodically follow them ensuring you double check the way each piece is/should face. A few of their projects have parts that will fit either way but should really only go the assigned way. They're the parts that generally will have the holes presrilled for the shelf pegs. For some reason if you flip it around it will look correct but when you put the shelf on it will be lopsided due to how the holes are actually laid out. A big plus is the parts aren't all thrown together into one bag with you're being left to discern which is bolt A and which is screw #3. They will come in individual bags marked with a number on the bag that will correspond to a specific set of instructions. It will also come with one bag of "extra" pieces so there is no need to worry if you drop/lose something or find a bag missing a piece. One thing that helped speed things along was using a cordless impact driver/cordless drill, just be sure to set your speed/torque to a low setting. While just about all the holes are predrilled, they don't always align and trying to start some of those screws by hand will be a problem. This is a piece of furniture that you'll be happy with having and not having had to spend a thousand dollars or more to buy. Perfect for those just starting out or those whose budgets may not allow for larger expenditures. Even if they do, this is a nice piece where the look belies it's actual cost. ... show more

I got this to go in our upstairs hallway. It needed to fit into a small alcove, I wanted a lighter colored wood and I wanted both drawers and a storage cabinet. This cabinet seemed almost exactly what I was looking for and I was unwilling to pay 5 times as much for something "perfect". There was only one in stock and it was described as having "slight cosmetic damage" but it was 1/2 price so I took a chance. The unit arrived and there was very little damage and what little there was was mostly unnoticeable. The instructions were detailed and clear and the individual parts were all clearly labeled. I assembled it myself with some help from my husband getting some of the trickier screws in tight. He also put the back on not using their instructions but in a way that will hold up better over time. If you have ever assembled an Ikea bookcase, you can assemble this. The pressboard is a good quality pressboard- heavy, dense and strong- no crumbly bits. The color is darker than it looks in the picture- more of a medium golden oak color. I did replace the included cabinet and drawer pulls with brushed nickel ones which really brightened it up. It holds more than the cabinet it replaced. It was made in Southeast Asia and is much better quality than Chinese made furniture. Pleased with my purchase, especially pleased with the price. ... show more

I ordered on Sunday morning, and it was delivered right to my bedroom with Amazon’s delivery service (the $20 “room of your choice” option) less than 48 hours later. It was packaged wonderfully, the instructions were clear, and it came with extra hardware just in case. It took me, a reasonably handy woman working solo, about 90 minutes to unbox and assemble the whole thing at a leisurely pace by myself. I did use a power drill, which I HIGHLY recommend. I think assembly would have been very difficult with screwdrivers. I would describe the final product as a higher quality IKEA piece, “higher quality” because: 1) it’s solid wood rather than their awful particle board; 2) the hardware is sturdier, e.g. the cam locks are metal, not plastic; and 3) the assembly instructions were much clearer. Is it the world’s most amazing piece of furniture? No. But I do like it a lot and expect it to last significantly longer than IKEA furniture does. So for $500 including in-home delivery, I am VERY satisfied. ... show more

I love the appearance of this piece. It is exactly what I was looking for. I found the assembly instructions to be easy enough to follow, and the individual pieces were very accurately marked. It did take me awhile to assemble- several hours. On the down side, the drawer bottoms are very flimsy and they came with a very large curve which made them hard to slide into the assembled drawers. The back piece needs drilled, it is not pre-drilled. There were a few blemishes, that I had to use furniture markers to hide, but they were not major. My biggest concern is that the drawers, especially the top drawer does not sit even. It is the fault, I imagine of the drawer slides being incorrectly aligned. I am not going to disassemble this and return it due to that issue, it is not very noticeable, but it should not be an issue for this price! ... show more
