This media stand is very solidly built, and looks beautiful. The unit comes disassembled in a rather heavy box. It took about an hour to carefully unpack and sort the pieces, and about 5-6 hours to fully assemble it. The instructions are long, but very clear and easy to follow. The only required tools are 2 screwdrivers (one flat-head, one Philips). An awl came in handy for starting the short screws for the back panels, for which holes are not pre-drilled. Everything else fit together nicely and had pre-drilled holes. Some reviews mention problems with scratches and imperfections in the finish, but my unit was in perfect shape. The wood and the finish are quite handsome, and it looks great in my TV room! I’m very happy with the unit. This is entirely made of solid wood with a nice polished finish (except for the back panels, which are thin luan plywood, but that’s typical even on solid wood furniture). It’s more expensive than other units I looked at, but its a real piece of wooden furniture, not cheap chipboard, and I feel like it was worth the money. ... show more

I don’t buy a huge amount of furniture on Amazon, but I saw some really great reviews Assembly was a bit difficult to do this sheer size and making sure everything was tight was a bit of a challenge, but it looks great and is extremely sturdy holding a TV just a bit bigger than it is only minor issues regarding the wood itself one of my doors is not quite perfect due to not being right at the corner but overall it looks great and is extremely sturdy. ... show more

First, that flat pack is HEAVY. Unit was well packaged and, even though there were some deep gouges in the box, the product itself was unharmed. This is certainly ’some assembly required’ ( took me more than 3 hours) but everything went together well and created a very solid unit. There is a sticker on the inside of the right glass front cabinet regarding the maximum weight of different shelves etc and it is stuck on good- this should have been on the backside cover, other than that, no complaints. It’s a handsome unit. Wish I had waited 10 days to order it as it went on sale for ‘Prime Days’ and I could’ve save $100. Might have temped me to spring for the professional assembly as it was definitely some work to assemble ( in fairness I’m old). Good product at a good price, a definite step up from IKEA. It is made of pine so treat the top carefully; if you want fancier you’ll have to pay a lot more. ... show more

No response from the manufacturer (from seller to me) after a month when we reported a serious issue immediately after assembly. We had to report the issue to the seller which was necessary because our return option window quickly closed - this type of design flaw can occur after unpackaging. We never stored it outside in cold weather and each piece was left in a separate part of the house to "degas" due to the high amount of harmful VOC's these units leave off. SimpliHome and under whatever other brands this furniture is manufactured produces phenomenal designs and we still love this series. I, unfortunately had to change my review from positive to negative over just the top warping. What a shame. My suggestion is to avoid these solid-wood sets as they are made of white pine. Pine is notorious for warping, ask anyone who builds with it. When you visit your lumber yard or home center, when you choose project-grade boards the first thing to look out for is bowed and warped peices. As mentioned, everything from the condition of the package, shipping speed and assembly was perfect. The design is outstanding, retro and beautiful. Unfortunately the top of this unit is cupping into a "U" shape, delaminating the trim, etc. Its very noticeable and with absolutely no real response from the seller I'm left with making a new top myself. One additional note - if I select the seller in the contact center Amazon tells me they have no record of that email address. So again, we're on our own. We have another side cabinet from this same manufacturer. Not surprisingly the top is also slightly bowed upward, but not enough for us to really care. I imagine we got a top that came from lumber that was sawed incorrectly, stored in less than ideal conditions and that's why its bowing. The remainder of the pieces are perfect, no other problems. When I make cabinets, shelves or anything else with pine I put in decorative saw-cuts on both sides to release the tension. BUYER BEWARE, look at our pics.
