This media stand is very solidly built, and looks beautiful. The unit comes disassembled in a rather heavy box. It took about an hour to carefully unpack and sort the pieces, and about 5-6 hours to fully assemble it. The instructions are long, but very clear and easy to follow. The only required tools are 2 screwdrivers (one flat-head, one Philips). An awl came in handy for starting the short screws for the back panels, for which holes are not pre-drilled. Everything else fit together nicely and had pre-drilled holes. Some reviews mention problems with scratches and imperfections in the finish, but my unit was in perfect shape. The wood and the finish are quite handsome, and it looks great in my TV room! I’m very happy with the unit. This is entirely made of solid wood with a nice polished finish (except for the back panels, which are thin luan plywood, but that’s typical even on solid wood furniture). It’s more expensive than other units I looked at, but its a real piece of wooden furniture, not cheap chipboard, and I feel like it was worth the money. ... show more

This is a solid, good looking piece of furniture. It is a bit darker in color than the picture shows and the hardware is a dark bronze, not as shown. My adult son (quite smart) put it together for me in close to 3 hours. He used a power drill which helped a lot. It would have took longer trying to screw it together by hand. He said the most annoying part was the stickers that were on the 4 glass pieces. They were extremely sticky and left a lot of residue on the glass. With some WD-40, Glass Cleaner, and a lot of Elbow Grease he was able to get the sticky residue off. I'm happy with ut! ... show more

This is the first furniture purchase we have made on Amazon. I was very worried about buying online without seeing it IRL. To my delight, it was just as beautiful as it looked in the picture. Only 3 days prior to receiving this order, we spent the good part of a day putting together a dresser from another “big box store.” Its quality was cheep and assembling it was such a pain! This piece is indeed solid wood, all though it is just pine, which can be quite a soft wood. Dare I say that putting this together was actually fun? All the hardware came in its own labeled bag. That was such a nice consideration! The instructions were very easy to follow. It took my husband and, I two hours to put it together. (With him doing most of it.) I am genuinely very happy, and relieved, with how it looks, and how easy it was to assemble. I see more furniture purchases from this seller, in my future! ... show more

No response from the manufacturer (from seller to me) after a month when we reported a serious issue immediately after assembly. We had to report the issue to the seller which was necessary because our return option window quickly closed - this type of design flaw can occur after unpackaging. We never stored it outside in cold weather and each piece was left in a separate part of the house to "degas" due to the high amount of harmful VOC's these units leave off. SimpliHome and under whatever other brands this furniture is manufactured produces phenomenal designs and we still love this series. I, unfortunately had to change my review from positive to negative over just the top warping. What a shame. My suggestion is to avoid these solid-wood sets as they are made of white pine. Pine is notorious for warping, ask anyone who builds with it. When you visit your lumber yard or home center, when you choose project-grade boards the first thing to look out for is bowed and warped peices. As mentioned, everything from the condition of the package, shipping speed and assembly was perfect. The design is outstanding, retro and beautiful. Unfortunately the top of this unit is cupping into a "U" shape, delaminating the trim, etc. Its very noticeable and with absolutely no real response from the seller I'm left with making a new top myself. One additional note - if I select the seller in the contact center Amazon tells me they have no record of that email address. So again, we're on our own. We have another side cabinet from this same manufacturer. Not surprisingly the top is also slightly bowed upward, but not enough for us to really care. I imagine we got a top that came from lumber that was sawed incorrectly, stored in less than ideal conditions and that's why its bowing. The remainder of the pieces are perfect, no other problems. When I make cabinets, shelves or anything else with pine I put in decorative saw-cuts on both sides to release the tension. BUYER BEWARE, look at our pics. Very nice 72" TV stand for a 75" Sony TV that I purchased. It took some time to assemble and the instructions were not in box, but I found them easily enough on the mfg. website and printed out. They were quite good and helpful. Allen wrench screws took the longest, and I worked on this part time a few days, probably 5-6 hours overall, and it looks great. This company makes nice reasonably priced and solid furniture. I may add a photo once the TV arrives later this week. ... show more

Package weight something like 100 lbs and it was shoulder carried in by one dude - impressive. Was not so impressed or confident inspiring assembling very first step, the drawer, when the cam bolt did not secure the drawer sides together tightly. Tightened the screw to the side as much as possible, but rotated cam still wouldn’t hold tightly. Ended up shimming with tape to get the cams to tighten. Believe the holes drilled for the cams were too far from the edge. Have NEVER seen this problem in the decades I’ve assembled IKEA furniture. Other than that, here are my pros and cons: Pros: looks good, easy assembly (other than drawer), 6 feet provide decent support for weight, wood instead of particle board. Cons: wood is low density, light weight stuff (used too much torque screwing in pull handle and the screw sunk deep into the wood), cheap hinges with no adjustability, cheap rollers and guides for the drawer. ... show more
