I guess I should give this a 4 star rating...it wasn't "perfect". There were very slight issues with staining, and s light ding, or what appeared to be a few random nail holes. there is a slight knot hole on one drawer front and the corner backing was cracked (in packing..couldn't have been be, as I was treating it like it was glass. I made a list of notes as I assembled it and studied each piece: Part D had a less than perfect stain job, as did E, J, and G (but not that bad at all and in no where you could see after the finish job. Part E had what looked like a couple of extra random nail holes, and the inside edge appeared touched up with a marker..or excess stain. Part J (drawer front) had a slight knothole, but to me, adds to the charm. Part M (Drawer bottom) appeared cracked all the way through but glued back together ...but a good job. Due to the nature of that fix, the line where it was likely previously cracked, smells like glue. All pieces , along with a bag of extra parts, were there. So why do I still give it a 5 star? Yes, these were slight issues, but just because I noticed them, doesn't mean most would, and it in no way affected the piece end result. Hardest part was leveling the drawers, but I did manage to get it done eventually, (with the aid of a toothpick for extra security, as I was worried I had taken the screws in and out too much while adjusting the doors. Plus, I learned some things in assembling that made it better than reviewers or product description had said. the most important extra was that there really are drawer stops..hard to know, but on the last page of instruction, it gives exact instructions on where they are and how to turn the pieces of wood, already attached, to keep the drawers from pulling out. The other thing I was able to do, that I saw others complain about, was adjust how far back the magnets for the door go, so that it they don't stick too strong, and make it hard to open, without pulling it over. I simply needed to move the larger magnet piece further back, just the the back edge of the line that runs down the seam of the bottom shelf....Oh, and the shelves are adjustable inside, plus the shelves have been finished on 4 sides, making them able to be turned around, if something ever happens to damage the one side. I ended up with a MUCH better than expected piece of furniture. I plan to add some pics, but my phone battery just died, so will do it later. ... show more

A few chips and finish flaws. Screws for hardware are about 3/8” too long. Very soft “wood”. Careful with your screwdriver!

Mismatched and misdrilled pieces I received two of these. One item which had the holes drilled in the wrong places for one of the sides. I needed to re-drill 6 holes to fix the issue and they were just slightly off because I don’t have the tools I would normally use at our new place yet. The other unit has incorrectly sized screws for the handles and the ones it comes with are just slightly different than the spare pieces I bought for other purposes. There are spares that come with the cabinet… for everything but the handles lol. Other defects/oversights There are large gaps between the doors. The hinges are non adjustable (!!!) and the predrilled holes for them are slightly off. The same goes for the magnets that hold the doors. The drawers do not have modern metal caster rails and they have lots of play to them. The hidden cams are very poor quality and barely snug up. I got them to work a little by unscrewing their bolts from the wood about 1/8” to allow the cam to turn farther. Closing The cabinet looks good when it is put together. Getting to that point can be challenging. If you can stomach the defects and overcome the poorly chosen hardware and low quality assurance then you could end up with a decent piece of furniture for slightly less than you would buy it prebuilt. I was pleasantly surprised at the great quality of the wood, how easy it was to assemble and how sturdy and heavy it is. The finish is so rich looking and the silver pulls give it the perfect accent. From a distance, this cabinet looks nice. But up close it has several wood and stain flaws (scratches/scrapes, fingerprints in the stain, etc.). If you use the pre-drilled holes to install the doors, the doors end up crooked and misaligned. It took some re-drilling, but even then, the doors don’t close properly. One door appears slightly warped. The back panel on the unit I received has an indented gash in it that’s visible when the doors are open. Also, there are no leveling feet on the legs, so beware. There’s also no is felt on the legs, so if the cabinet is sitting on hardwood, be sure you purchase some felt. I would not recommend this item. ... show more

It’s a very nice piece. Well made. The drawers are short, and it would be great if there was a stop to keep them from falling out. I have to be very careful not to pull the drawer out too far.
