SIMPLIHOME Acadian Solid Wood 62-inch wide Transitional Wide Storage Cabinet in Rustic Natural Aged Brown. I bought this to be a great looking display cabinet. I got the "Rustic natural aged brown" color because I thought it would go better with the black finishes in the room. It looks great in terms of design, but the "light golden brown" or "white" colors would have been a better choice for making it easy to see the items you actually want to display inside. The cabinet was well packaged, though I did notice slight shipping damage. They pack the underside of the cabinet top facing out, so any minor damage that makes it through the packaging isn't actually visible when you assemble the cabinet. Since this is an inexpensive cabinet, I prefer the lower price over paying for more robust packaging materials. The cabinet itself is made from a solid wood, including the shelves. The finish looks good, but the stain is a little uneven on some edges. This could be from the finishing process or maybe some wear that occurs from items moving during shipment. The cabinet seems to be some species of a soft wood. So don't over-tighten the attaching hardware. The instructions and separately labelled bags are very helpful, but it will still take a couple of hours to assemble this. It uses a combination of dowels, quarter-turn fasteners, and wood screws. There is no gluing. This makes it faster & easier to assemble, but not quite as durable as higher quality furniture. So if you move this cabinet around frequently, the quarter-turn fasteners may loosen up over time. Overall, I think this is a great-looking piece that won't have issues with the top and shelves sagging over time the way particle board furniture does. And you get that at a price that's close to what particle board furniture costs. ... show more

Perfect item for small bar. Needed something that wouldn't stick out too far and this works great. Drawers are kind of shallow, don't pull out very far but l love that the shelves are adjustable.

Worse assembled cabinet I've ever purchased. Cabinet came nicely packaged and no items were damaged during shipping. My cabinet had two issues: Cabinet top had one side molding a different color than the rest of the top and cabinet; and the right side wall has the right rail for the drawer and it was factory installed 1" too high so that the drawer DOES NOT CLOSE without hitting the top. I sent in a request for replacement parts and as you can see from numerous reviews, Simpli Home DOES NOT HAVE REPLACEMENT Parts! Simpli Home's solution is for the custorm to contact Amazon for resolution. As you know, Amazon wants the cabinet sent back to them before issuing a entire replacement. The cabinet is 100% assembled, I have no original box/packing material and no box to put the pieces in. The entire issue could have been resolved it Simpli Home had replacement part to send to fix the problem but they don't. DON'T PURCHASE!!! ... show more

This is one of those pieces of furniture that looks good if you don't want to spend a lot of money and you don't inspect it up close. It comes with many parts and extras that are packed extremely well. And yet, there was a smallish knick in the front edge of the top of all places. I was able to minimize it's visibility with a marker made to hide scratches on dark wood furniture. I also added a piece of custom cut glass to the top for protection and to reduce wear and tear. This was going to be used to hold a heavy piece of artwork. Luckily, the glass top had the added benefit of further concealing the repaired knick - which as I mentioned earlier happened to be in the front. This was a not too difficult to put together, but time consuming . It took me about 6 hours. I've put together a LOT of furniture to save a few bucks. The directions are some of the best I've come across. I did need my husband occasionally for extra force to tighten screws. Once, I opened the box, I knew that I would keep the piece. Again, it was packed so well and it's made of real wood although it seems pretty soft. Take your time and use their advice to use blankets or something soft like the carpet to work on. You'll need lots of space. Because I had searched for just the right console for weeks online and in stores, there was no way I would try to or be able to repack this even if I wanted to. I had already returned 2 consoles - what a pain! This console is just the right color, size, width and height for my foyer which has a 10 ft ceiling. The only thing I didn't like about the appearance of the console was the color of the knobs, drawer pulls and hinges. I knew that it would be fairly easy to replace the knobs, but I was surprised and very disappointed to learn that it is NOT at all easy to find replacement hinges - unless you want to spring for custom. It's not worth it in my opinion. After a very unsuccessful back and forth with the company customer service department, I decided to spray paint the hinges. I know it's tacky, but it worked and the console is in an area that sees very little traffic, plus my husband and I are empty nesters. So, there will be few children running around. Last, but not least, the screws can strip easily - so beware. Because I changed the pre installed hinges, the screws for the hinges were almost unusable when I was putting the doors on. As another reviewer indicated, you'll need to use a stack of books to level the doors for installation. I'm not sure how to describe this, but once installed, the hinges don't all stick out or in at the same distance from the frame. It's noticable to me, but my husband says he would not have noticed unless I had pointed it out. Do keep in mind that everything is dark brown now - so that helps. And, yes I put the hinges back in the original holes AND I used the pre drilled holes that were on the frame. It would take someone more skilled than me to get those hinges set perfectly across all 3 doors. I recommend this piece only for someone with slightly above average handyman skills who wants to save money and have a decent looking console. ... show more
