It's vacuum insulation is astonishing... but it becomes useless if the lids are not well designed. The 22 oz version comes along with a stainless steel lid and a flip lid. The stainless steel lid provides vacuum insulation and is leak proof, both of which are great BUT when it comes to usability it fails: the hole for drinking is too wide, so forget about drinking while on the move if you don't want to splash water all over. The flip lid solves that problem, the drinking hole is small so you can drink while on the bus or walking BUT it's not vacuum insulated nor leak proof, so forget about cold drinks (the lid sweats A LOT) or putting the bottle in your bag (it will leak). What's worse, I contacted Simple Modern about this and they just replied the do have a lid that is vacuum insulated, leak proof and has a small hole for drinking, so I could proceed and buy it. To be fair, they gave me a coupon so the lid would be free when buying from their webpage BUT I would have to pay for the shipping. I don't live on the US, and every buy I make comes with extra taxes. I decided not to buy the extra lid, cause I think that when you buy a product, that's it, you shouldn't have to pay extra in order to rectify deficiencys. ... show more

I wasn't going to review this yet as I wanted a few more times out, but I got asked to review. I have tried to use this daily since I received it. I will start with the pros. Pro Great looking and feeling. I was impressed when I opened the box it looked and felt great. Not heavy when filled with water and a little ice. Comes with 2 tops. Cons This thing leaks. Do not throw it into a bag unless you want wet clothes. This is my biggest one. I wanted a bottle I can carry when on the track, it came with an extra top with a carrying loop. It seemed big enough to carry even with large hands but other then the very very center of the loop it is very very sharp and uncomfortable to carry unless you use one finger and that also makes it uncomfortable to carry this was one of my #1 problems and is unforgivable as it is possible for someone to get hurt. The top with the carry handle also does not allow much water to flow at all so it was much harder to stay hydrated because of that. Did I mention it leaks. I really do wish this had been better it was a mid priced option and it looked and felt great but I find myself going to buy a bottle of water out of the vending machine instead of using it each time which increased my overall cost and I had to break my workout routine more then once. ... show more

THIS WATER BOTTLE IS AMAZING!! Sorry, I had to type it in all caps because it's just that true! Every day as I'm using my water bottle, I think of just how awesome it really it and how I should have bought it so much sooner!! I only use my bottle for water so can't speak to hot liquid temperature, but it maintains the temperature of my water even if it's sitting inside my car (black interior) with the sun beaming right it. The 32oz bottle I have does not fit in standard cup holders, but that wasn't a deal breaker for me and it shouldn't be for you. This bottle doesn't get scratched up easily and I don't have any dent either. Great bottle, portable, awesome color, overall 10/10 would purchase again (thinking about buying another bottle actually). The only small complaint I had was that Simple Modern didn't offer a spout lid for drinking, only the flip top and the metal screw on cap. I opted to purchase a Takeya brand spout top and it fits perfectly onto this bottle, no spilling or leaking etc. ... show more

I purchased this water bottle after seeing very high reviews from many customers. The 22oz bottle and chug lid arrived on Thursday. It was hand washed Friday evening. On Saturday at 8am I filled the water bottle with water and 10 cubes of ice from the icemaker. Standard icemaker cubes and water from the fridge door. I drank the water and decided to leave the ice alone just to test how long the ice would/could remain. I placed the water bottle on the kitchen counter at approximately 4pm and left it alone. Sunday morning at 8am I poured out the melted ice/water and left the ice in a small bowl just long enough to take a pic and quickly returned the ice to the bottle and placed the chug lid back on it. 8am Monday morning I again poured out the melted ice/water and maybe a teaspoon of ice remained. Bottom line... the bottle has out performed many other water bottles I have owned and kept ice longer than I ever expected it to and it fits a standard vehicle cup holder. I will recommend this water bottle to others in the future. ... show more

Every once in a while you buy a thing that improves your quality of life so dramatically, in a messed up kind of way it sort of justifies our whole toxic consumerist culture. This is one of those products. Two years ago I bought two of these bottles. I still use them both every day (EDIT: 5 years of use now). They're so durable I can't imagine ever needing to buy a third. I've dropped them on concrete from about 5 feet up. While they did get a tiny bit dented, I'm honestly more worried about them damaging the concrete. Filled with ice they'll keep water cold for close to three days. Filled with a hot drink they'll stay warm for at least 8 hours, I've never tried for more. My only quibbles after two years of use are: -They're difficult to clean. The lids tend to accumulate gunk. I have two specifically because I couldn't get the tea and coffee staining of out of my first (but it says something that my solution to that problem was to buy a second). -They're heavy. Filled, they're around 3-5 pounds. -The sealing ring inside the screw-top lid occasionally comes loose. Especially if I've kept a mix of hot liquid and air inside for an extended period of time, creating a pressure differential inside the container. That also makes the bottle difficult to open.
